“Our little house on the corner” was built in 1954. We totally remodeled it this spring for short term renting. The upstairs is now a master suite and two bedrooms are on the first floor. You will not be disappointed with the style and decor. Everything is new but the hardwood refinished floors. If you are traveling through Gallia County for a wedding, reunion, party or just vacationing you will enjoy our home. No other persons will share the home with you. Bob Evans Farm Restaurant, Merry Family Winery, GreenValley Gathering Place are all just minutes away. Downtown Gallipolis is just a quick drive too.

The daily rate is for two adults and each additional adult is 25.00 per night. There is no charge for children under 16. There is a small one time cleaning fee of 35.00 for the downstairs and an additional 20.00 if upstairs is used also. This too is a one time charge.

The space
This cozy, rustic, cedar-walled single-room cabin directly overlooks the Ohio River. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside there is direct access to the beach & water, as well as a large open grassy & landscaped space overlooking the river, with a fire pit, swing set, and flagstone areas with covered tables. The property also borders a deep creek, with lots of trees. The cabins & yard are mostly separated from the road by the restaurant (no longer open to the public with the exception of serving the B&B cabins). Two parking spaces available per cabin (please reach out ahead of time should you want more spaces). Locally-sourced coffee provided in the cabin. The room is heated/cooled primarily with a mini split unit.
Guest access
Guests can access the river, beach, and large yard at their leisure. There is also a landing spot for boats about four miles south (KH Butler) and a cute little town about a 10-minute drive north. Free onsite parking lot is available. We live in a very rural area, so there are a variety of dwellings and lots of patches of woods around.

We offer a contact-free, COVID-friendly checkin. Very kid friendly. Very pet friendly. Smoking & vaping permitted on cabin deck and outside public areas, but not in cabins please. We ask that breakfast orders be placed by 9pm the night before. Our breakfasts are homemade and we provide locally-sourced coffee in the cabin. Smart TV in cabin. Free Wi-Fi.

This 2 bedroom cottage offers an excellent place to unplug and relax on the Ohio river here in Kanauga/ Gallopolis Ohio area.
There are festivals and events during the whole year like the Point Pleasant river regatta and the Bob Evans farm festival the Mothman fest and many other festivals in the area.
This cottage offers a front row seat for the fireworks over the river 4th of July and Labor Day weekend.

While the rural and serene setting of this site feels secluded, will be only five minutes from the bustling city of point Pleasant or Henderson,West Virginia. The region is also home to numerous smaller towns and Amish communities for visitors to discover. The nearest major city is Athens, Ohio, which can be reached in just under one hour by car.

The light switch at the top of the stairs will turn on the hall light and there are touch lights on the stairs for extra lighting you can turn on as well.

Located near two wedding venues, a winery, Bob Evans, and Holzer Hospital it is the perfect location. Located near US Rt 35 also makes it easy access for travelers. All has been refreshed and furnished with a delightful shades of greens and complimentary colors. New floors and freshly painted ceilings/ walls add to the atmosphere. - "Creekside was just as advertised. My family, with kids (13, 5, 4), stayed for 5 nights in early January. The location was perfect- off the beaten path, but not too far from town. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need to not need to venture out during your stay. I loved the view of Raccoon Creek from the main windows and deck. Even in the cold, my kids were big fans of the tire swing behind the house. The house was beautifully decorated for winter. Everything was put together with the guests in mind. The only thing I would note, not as a negative but as a FYI for future renters, we use Verizon for cell service and there was zero service in or around the house, but the WiFi was strong the entire stay so it wasn’t an issue for us. Check-out procedure was easier than I have ever had at another rental. All information for house, local area, and check-out was neatly organized in a binder that was easy to spot in the kitchen at check-in. We would 100% recommend to others and stay again ourselves!"

The whole group will be comfortable in this spacious and unique space.This 100 year old 4 square home was previously a dentist office to a local dentist for many years. Located in the historical district of Main Street; this property is within 2 blocks of the world’s only Mothman Museum. Shops,restaurants, River Museum,flood wall murals showing the history of Point Pleasant and the river front and Tu-Endie-Wei parks are also some of the attractions within walking distance of the property.

The house is charming with an interesting history as a decades-long dental office. This small two story home was built in 1900. Updates through the years have not lost the charm. This two bedroom and two full bath home has plenty of room for a traveling family or professionals for business. Decorated in all new retro style interior, it takes you to a time of peace and tranquil. The time period is 1955-early 60’s. Teals, reds, yellows and other rich colors throughout brighten your day. There are a few choice pieces from our past that we just had to place in the home. Next door are two other of our places. You can walk to the downtown area for views of the river or ratios that are locally owned mom and pop. Sit on the front porch or relax on the back deck. You need to know that the claw foot tub upstairs is currently being re plumbed, and not able to be used. We had it working , but the hot water won’t work. Shower is in the bathroom on the first floor. Sink and toilet does work upstairs.

There is no hunting on the property. This is not a home for hunters to stay in while hunting on nearby land.

The access to the river is very steep with no steps or railing. Be very careful as slips trips could happen. Avoid accessing the river in flood conditions etc.. as it could be very dangerous.

- "We visited this property for a weekend of wrestling at Galia Academy High School and it was a prefect place for our family. Place was nice, clean, and in a good location. Hot tub splashes drain directly to the basement where you will find standing water in a far corner next to the mini fridge. Moisture from water is currently rotting the wood underneath and black/white molds cover the beams in the basement corner. Owner is aware of issues and will do his best to inconvenience you if you find these conditions uninhabitable. The owner Dan will become outright hostile if you have complaints. Still haven’t received the entire amount that is due to be refunded as Dan updated the property quote after the stay to overcharge us. "

- "This was a scam. I paid for a mud spot next to a busy highway. It looked like a place out of a horror movie where people are murdered. This was the worst property I've ever paid to stay at and I've stayed at places with bulletproof glass before. I felt safer backpacking in Wyoming with grizzlies. It would have been better to sleep in my car in walmart parking lot for free."
