Self Lane is a gravel country road and country roads can be bumpy or rougher at times than paved roads. 4-wheel drive or AWD may be needed in the winter to access this unit there is an incline going into the driveway and may be slick in the winter.
This is a lower-level unit and guest may experience noise from other guest at times. 2 portable white noise machines are provided and can be used in any room in the unit.

The sweet, almost hidden covered side porch is the perfect retreat for two, offering a feeling of a Parisian alleyway and Charleston charm with its gravel walkway to the iron gate that will lead you out to the street. The porch is an intimate space to enjoy your morning coffee or a pre-cocktail before dinner.

A: DOGS may be approved on a case by case basis. Owner MUST Pre-Approve BEFORE BOOKING. Max1. We do not allow cats. Send us an inquiry BEFORE booking with pets. Pets MUST BE under 15 pounds, house-broken, up-to-date on shots, and are not permitted on furniture or beds. Your pet must not be left alone in the townhouse at anytime . We do require a $200 non-refundable pet fee per pet. NOTE: There is not an outdoor area for the pet to exercise or potty. Must be leashed and walked intown for both.

It is a great comfortable and inviting space to come home to after a day of adventure.
We have a caterer who can offer you beautiful choices of wine and cuisine if you would like to dine in privately.

Use the fully equipped kitchen and outdoor gas grill for home cooked meals between your West Virginia adventures.

Please note: The house is located in a quiet residential area on a county road. The road is gravel and is what the county calls an "unimproved" road. A high-clearance vehicle is NOT required to navigate the 150 yards or so of the road—just drive slowly. However, in extreme winter conditions, all-wheel drive can be necessary. If booking in the winter and you do not have AWD, please let us know so we can provide alternatives and insure your trip goes smoothly.

Perfectly situated from Hawks Nest State Park and New River Gorge National Park. As well as easy access to many restaurants. Top of the Hill is located a little over a mile from the courthouse in downtown Fayetteville, West Virginia. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin features 2 queen size beds and one queen sized sleeper sofa. We also have two twin sized sleeping mats for additional sleeping space in the loft. The cabin will comfortably sleep 6-8 guest. The cabin features hardwood and tile throughout, and a full kitchen. There is a Keurig available to use (K cups not provided). The cabin features a washer and dryer for the use of our guest. Outside there is a large patio, picnic table, charcoal grill, fire ring, and porch for your enjoyment.

The cabin is located across the street from Cantrell Ultimate Rafting’s base camp. With a minimum two night stay at The Top of the Hill Cabin during the 2023 season, Cantrell Rafting will offer cabin guests a $109 Double run on the Lower New River. Double the whitewater with lunch! Ages 10 and up. This super discounted price is available 7 days a week from May-August (not valid in October). During Gauley Season we are offering a Thursday special this year. Cabin rental on Thursday night for $175 plus tax, cleaning fee, and a Friday morning Lower Gauley trip for $99/person (4 person minimum), or Upper Gauley for $119/person.

The cabin can only be accessed with a 4WD vehicle as it is at the top of a very steep driveway. The cabin is conveniently located to many of Fayette County’s recreation opportunities including climbing, hiking, and rafting.

The cabin is about 1.3 miles from the Long Point trail head, a 1.6 mile trail to an amazing overlook of the New River Gorge Bridge.

The Arrowhead bike trails are just under 3 miles from the cabin offering over 12 miles of mountain bike tails.

The New River Gorge Bridge is 2.8 miles from our door.

- "This house was perfect for me and my adult son as we explored New River Gorge Natl Park. Check in and check out were both very easy. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed and more -- including paper towel and toilet paper (which has been lacking in other houses lately). It's super close to the downtown area and the national park. In fact, there's a trail head about a block away. I would definitely recommend it and would stay again if ever in the area. One note: Google can't find the house for some reason but we were given good instructions by the hostess."
