- "We enjoyed our overnight stay in the Walnut Glamping Dome so much! This was more like a very nice cabin than the tent-type structure I expected. We were so relaxed, sitting on our deck, looking out over the river, and when we went inside later in the evening, we could do the same thing. Because of the height of the space, the room seems huge - so inviting and full of light. What a wonderful place to wake up on my 66th birthday! About this space
This beautiful home sits in the middle of a hayfield that is part of an operational farm. Nestled in the beautiful hills of WV, this country home sits on approximately 189 acres and provides privacy people dream of. It is located within commuting distance of Stonewall Jackson Lake and Resort, Burnsville and Stonecoal Lakes. From the front porch, you can enjoy watching the wildlife crossing through the hayfields. You may see deer, black bears, wild turkeys, and even coyotes.
The space
You cannot see the house from the road. The house has a private gravel driveway that is approximately 3/4 of a mile long. It is a steep, one lane driveway that opens up at the top to expose the beautiful hill-top farm and home. The home has three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a private bonus room above the garage, large living room, formal dining room and a breakfast nook. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, pots and pans, a dishwasher, and a coffee pot. There is a washer and dryer available for your use and a gas fireplace for those cool WV days.
Guest access
Guests can access the main and second floor of the house and the front and back patios of the house. The basement, barns and outbuildings are reserved for farm and homeowner's storage and farm equipment.

For safety reasons please do not climb on hay bales or farm equipment.

Absolutely no motorized vehicles are allowed in the hay fields or yard that surrounds the house.
Other things to note
Certain times of the year Rick will cut the hay. If you are our guest during hay-cutting season, you will get to watch the hay-machines in action. We may on occasion have to mow the yard or do other farm or house maintenance. We will do our best to let you know ahead of time before we arrive. We will do everything we can to not interfere with your vacation plans, but please understand that we have to cut the hay and mow during dry days/seasons and those are not always predictable in WV.

It is important to note that cell service near and at the home is limited. The internet service at the house is currently provided by Frontier Communications. It is adequate to surf the web, check your email, attend online meetings, etc. However please understand that gaming and streaming may not work well. Television is provided by Dish Network.

If there is anything we can do to make your stay a bit more enjoyable, please let us know and we will try our best to accommodate your needs. In Flatwoods, (nearby) there is a super-Walmart, a few restaurants, Starbucks, some clothing and other stores, a nail salon, an antique store, and gas-stations.

We stayed for a long weekend and visited with our grandchildren that live in the area and they absolutely loved it. We are quickly rolling into the Fall season, where the leaf’s start changing color and the days begin to cool off. Everyone loves this time of the year. You can get out for long rides on the country roads and site see the countryside. There is still so much t do while the weather is still good. We share the same yard. I have dogs, huskies and German shepherd. Big but friendly, all in their own kennel. They don’t bite. I let them out 2 times a day, They won’t come to your area but let you know just incase they sneak out to see you. When you park your car, my husky in her kennel will bark at you . Please don’t try to pet her if I am not there.
Guests can access the entire cabin, except for bedroom 2 ( empty room) that I already locked and I have sticker number 2 on the door.

Camping with a touch of creature comfort = Glamping. This is a canvas safari tent with a blow up couch sleeper and comfortable bed for two. Situated overlooking our 3-acre stocked fishing' pond with easy access to our bathhouse, hiking trail entrance, and camp store. Linens are provided. It is not 100% bug or critter proof, so please don't leave food or trash out. Amenities include solar powered lights, and charging station. Come stay on the hill and watch the fish jump.

About this space
#3 Cabin Frances is our family style bunkhouse. It has a queen sleeping loft and two bunkbeds giving it that summer camp feel. A relaxed space for kids of all ages to sit up talking and playing cards. The space boasts a half bath, and sitting room to overlook the river out back. This cabin has fans and space heaters to keep you comfortable. Francis can accommodate up to six guests with its bunk beds and loft. Want to bring a bed roll or cot and add a guest you are welcome to do so.

Please feel free to drive up to cabin #3 closest to the RV sites and lake. We are often around the property, but it isn't necessary to find someone to check in. They keys are on the table, and parking is to the left of the property.

Please bring linens and towels. There is a beautiful bath house just a short walk across the grass.

You'll find both the Mothman and Flatwoods Monster rooms to have queen beds, and the Alien Room has a full. We also offer a roll away cot for any extra guest. There's an inflatable hot tub on the back deck ready to enjoy.
This property does require all wheel drive to get up the driveaway.

While the property does have a pool, sheds, and a cellar, they are all locked for insurance purposes.
