The space was clean and comfortable and the hot tub was just what we needed. The cabin is cozy, and it worked well for just the two of us. We took advantage of the hot tub which was very well maintained. We also lit up the firepit on another evening while watching the moon rise over the hills. The cabin is just a few minutes from Monterey (which sits in the valley just below the cabin.) Monterey is a small but interesting town that had everything we needed including several nice restaurants. We recommend Claire's, High's, and The Highlander restaurants. We used the cabin as a launching point for multiple daytrips to Cass WV (for the scenic train and a visit to Snowshoe ski resort), Staunton, and Harrisonburg (for the Skeleton Festival.) The cabin's location somewhat in the middle of all three worked out perfectly. Also, we were just down the road from the Monongahela National Forest and the George Washington National Forest which gave us plenty of beautiful October leaves to look at. Overall, we are very happy we stumbled across the listing for the cabin. It was unpretentious and just what we were looking for. We recommend. "

Over 155 acres for hiking we have bikes available to ride on back creek. There is a pool table and outdoor ping pong table . There is Roku t v and internet 28 mbps. The full back deck overlooking the creek is great for relaxing and grilling food. We have added a dry sauna in the master bath. Hot tub at back of home for relaxing evenings. Fire pit and sitting area in the back yard and fire wood stocked in shed. Kitchen is stocked with all the dishes and pans you may need and we will have fresh eggs in the fridge from are home during warmer months. Across the road there is a 1.3 mile walking trail through the woods. We strive to have all you need to make your stay enjoyable.The master bed is a medium feel tempur pedic and the guest queen is a sealy hybrid medium feel.

- "This property is very nice and relaxing…. The space is great.. played plenty of pool.. family loved it" - "The house and grounds were amazing. So peaceful and relaxing. Mannette and Ellis are wonderful to work with. The pictures do not do it justice. The owners have done a marvelous job of fixing up the house and providing activities to make this a destination vacation. They have a pool table,sauna, hot tub, ping pong table, board games, creek, fire ring, kids playground area, a gazebo. it is absolutely wonderful. it is out in the middle of nowhere without cell service, but they have very reliable 5g internet at the house so you can still text and voip. If you want to get away from it all, but still have all the amenities' plus a lot more, this is the place for you. wonderful nature trails, Green Bank Observitory is just 45 minutes away, Our family of 5 plus dog were all very, very happy hanging out, playing in the creek, making smores, exploring some of the surrounding Townes and just generaly having a lot of time to ourselves to connect."

The Farm House is a turn of the century home located on a 360 acre working farm, just 11 miles from Monterey on Route 84 in beautiful Mill Gap. Guests enjoy panoramic views from two porches, walking trails, farm life, and beautiful night skies. Bird and wildlife watching, fishing, photography and plein air painting are some favorite activities. Other attractions in area include: Big Fish Cidery, Dominion Power Recreational Area, McDowell Battlefield, and Mansion House Historic Museum. Cass Railroad, Snowshoe Ski Resort (39 miles), Green Bank National Radio Observatory, and Jefferson Pools are located within an hour drive.

The Farm House has five bedrooms and sleeps 12, the first floor bedroom has a queen bed and attached half bath. Four bedrooms are located on the second floor; a queen bed, a double bed, one large room with a double and 2 twins, and a room with 2 twins. Two full baths are located on the second floor.

There is an abundance of eating space in the Farm House with it’s eat in kitchen, dining room, and sun porch. The kitchen is complete with a gas stove, dishwasher, and microwave. A washer and dryer are housed in the mudroom. The living room is equipped with a smart TV, television and DVD player are located in the downstairs bedroom. A library of VCR tapes and DVDs are located in the upstairs bedroom, along with books, games, puzzles, and toys. Internet and WiFi access are located in the dining room.

Definitely will stay here again" - "This part of the world is a cyclist's paradise--beautiful countryside, numerous route choices (both paved and gravel), flat and/or hilly, and no traffic. And this was a perfect place for our group of nine--plenty of space to spread out in, a table big enough for all of us, a big well-appointed kitchen, lots of hot water--everything we needed for a perfect vacation. Brand new construction makes this unique and tranquil cabin an excellent getaway. Far removed from the main town road, wildlife and nature abound making every day a great day. And just a few minutes drive takes you to the heart of Monterey.

- "My husband and I just wanted to get away for a mini-vac and we stayed for two nights at this cabin. It was great! The owners thought of everything and they were very helpful in case we needed anything. We saw 17 deer while at the cabin and it was very peaceful there, not too far from a main road. We would definitely recommend this cabin if you don't mind being in an area away from it all. The driveway itself was long, but graveled, and we had no problem at all in our Venza. May need an SUV in the late Fall or Winter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. MB"
