The Gin hotel staff Lindsey and Makayla were friendly, helpful, attentive, and competent. The 5th level story, corner- suites of the Gin offer terrific views of the snowy mountains and shops on Main Street. We stayed in a two - queen bed room for our first two nights and then upgraded to the corner 5th level story suite for our last night. The rooms have a light and airy feel to them. The layout of both is unique. The beds were very comfortable, had great pillows and down comforters which conform to your sleeping position. The King suite has a very large jacuzzi in the bathroom, along with a very modern -style shower, which we loved. There was hot water in abundance! The suite also had a table and 2 chairs, as well as a lounger type comfortable chair which I sat in in front of the window and enjoyed the terrific snow - topped mountain view from. The Gin offers complimentary parking directly behind the hotel. A downfall to the Gin is that there are no mini fridges / microwaves, and breakfast is very limited, but that's ok, because Pronto Caffe (coffee pastry shop) is next door."

- "It's not really the owner's fault at all but the place is built on a rather treacherous bit of mountainside in the Shenandoah. The website doesn't really give much warning about this and there isn't any sort of guardrails. There is a hell of a 'pucker factor' getting to and from the location as it's just one lane. - "It was just as described. Cozy, intimate and romantic. It would have been nice if the fireplace was in working condition. Also, several website need to be updated because they show the on-site restaurant as still in operation when it is not. Was a bit of a disappointment to arrive on a Sunday night and have nowhere nearby to eat other than fast food options or making the trek into Lexington. However, for what you are paying the cost is perfect and the atmosphere is nice and secure. When you stay in the cabin you are literally right on the edge of the road-- every big vehicle that comes by you will hear and even the big rigs might shake the place a bit, but after a while this gets a bit relaxing and with the blackout curtains pulled, can be almost even soothing white noise. I was here to decompress a bit before a hard work week. Will have to come back with my partner and experience it as a proper 'second honeymoon' getaway. "
