Security:
For your peace of mind, There are 3 exterior security cameras in place and they are located in the front and back entrances of the house as well as the parking area as part of the floodlight. There are no cameras within the house — no indoor cameras. Please don’t disable them or the Wi-Fi. If security assistance is ever needed, a $200 fee may apply.

Cleaning:
We kindly ask that you treat the home as you would your own. A light tidy-up before checkout helps a lot! Excessive mess may incur an extra $250 fee. Trash should be placed in the provided white bags and taken to the bin at the bottom of the driveway.

Seasonal Notice:

We had no familiarity with the area, but this place looked good and was close to where we needed to be. Our host was welcoming and provided excellent communication before and during our stay. The rental has a gorgeous view of a meadow. It is peaceful and serene. We were treated to sights of fireflies, a Luna moth, many wild rabbits, and deer in the time we were there. This is perfect for you if you want to be in a beautiful slice of the beautiful almost heaven that West Virginia is. There were many interesting things to see and do within a short drive. We highly recommend the bridge walk and the National Park nearby. There are also many whitewater rafting options we didn’t have time to sample. Finding the entrance to the road was easy enough but be prepared for a long and rustic road in. I wouldn’t arrive the first time after dark if I was you. We struggled a bit with the gate but our friendly host answered the call and was ready with the help we needed. The house itself is comfortable, clean, and charming. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed to cook our meals when we ate in. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. There was laundry detergent for the washer (although we had brought some because you never know). We were very pleased with our whole experience."

Come stay in a cozy, newly remolded, authentic 1886 Cabin. Located on a private dead end street. Views of a 32-acer farm and mountains. This one bedroom one bathroom cabin is the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It has a fully remodeled Kitchen and Bathroom. This cabin was built in 1886 and has so much charm. Also on the property is a stone building that was built in the 1930s. The stones are etched with the location the stones came from. One from every county in WV, along with some other unique locations. Another piece of history is located right in front of the cabin, it's one of the only 2 remaining columns from the original state Captial that burnt down in 1921.

This 1 bedroom apartment feels like a tree house due to its location on the second floor amongst the trees. It is located in the small town of Oak Hill on a quiet street. It is conviently located with grocery store, restaurants, message salon, and outdoor amphitheater, all in walking distance.
It is close to outdoor adventure outfitters, ACE is 5 minutes drive, and other outdoor adventure outfitters are no more than 10 minutes drive.
Oak Hill is the gateway to The New River Gorge and five minutes drive from Historic Fayetteville, WV.
The apartment is on the second floor, with a porch for morning coffee or cocktail in the evening. There is a small yard that is fenced in with outdoor seating and grill . It has 1 bedroom with queen bed, living area includes a full size futon and twin bunk. Nice sized kitchen and bathroom. Soft linens included and towels.

This property was a perfect home base for our rafting adventures in New River Gorge NP. The property was clean, conveniently located to grocery store, restaurants, the rafting company, and other sites within the national park. The host left us a note and some snacks which made us feel right at home immediately. Beds were so comfy. It might be good to know that if you run the ceiling fan in the bunk bed room, the person sleeping on the top bunk might need to be careful not to get caught on the fan blades. We just turned the fan off in that room during the night, so it wasn't an issue. We did have an individual (the host or their cleaning crew I'm not sure) knock on the door to reset the apartment a few minutes prior to checkout. We were still trying to finish packing, make sure the dishes were clean and the trash taken down to the bin, plus deal with our crying child, so that was a little stressful. Thankfully the host was kind enough to go work on a different unit while we got it together. : ) All in all, our family was very happy with this stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a more homey, cozy experience near the park."

Our unit is a garage apartment that has a cabin feel. The garage is detached from the house so it is very private. We are located literally seconds off of route 19 and within minutes of ACE Adventure Resort, the New River Gorge Bridge, Fayetteville, AOTG, Betchel Boy Scout Reserve and other local NRG Park favorites. The "Carriage House" has a private key pad entrance.

The wi-fi signal was strong and didn’t go out once, let alone multiple times a day, as often happens in a motel or hotel. The large dining room table gave me plenty of room to work. I enjoyed relaxing in the living room after a hard day of driving and also preparing my own breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. The location is perfect if you have business along Rt. 19 or the WV Turnpike. I also appreciated having enough space in the apartment for my yoga practice! Highly recommended."

We are minutes away from many of the major attractions in the area including: rafting companies (ACE, AOTG, River Expeditions), hiking, shops, and restaurants. We are located in the city of Oak Hill so no crazy backroads or surprises : )

The space includes two bedrooms (each with their own TV). One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two bunk beds (3 twins and a full). We have a washer and dryer at your disposal.

The house is 936 square feet. We welcome 6 people to stay at a time, but be aware that it can get a bit crowded with that number (the bathroom is pretty small). 4 people can fit quite comfortably :)

Please note that the “No Pet” policy is for guests. When we are using the house, we do bring our dog, Medora. She will usually end up being there about 2-3 weeks total throughout the year. If you have a very severe dog allergy, please consider this before booking.

Highland Manor is located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants, a bakery, ice cream shop and local downtown shops. As soon as you enter this historic home, built in 1930, you'll be immersed in the rich character and charm that this house has to offer. From its rich mahogany moldings to the antique radiators adorning the spaces, this home is filled with 1930's charm.

The interior space has been designed with your comfort and style in mind. The entire home is equipped with high speed wireless internet. Relax in the cozy living room while watching the 4k Smart TV. The fully stocked kitchen has just about everything you would need to cook up a delicious meal to enjoy in the adjacent dining room. Start up a game of ping pong in the game room, or select from the wide variety of puzzles and games available. The cozy and comfortable bedrooms will be waiting for you to relax after your long day of exploring all that the area has to offer!

In the backyard, have dinner on the patio with the included charcoal grill, or gather around the firepit on a brisk night! (Don't forget to stop by the local stores to pick up a bundle of firewood or charcoal for the grill.)

4 Bedroom plus Basement Sleeping Area:

This home has 4 bedrooms located on the second floor of the home.

★ Bedroom 1: Main Bedroom features one queen bed + Smart TV

★ Bedroom 2: Guest Bedroom features one full bed

★ Bedroom 3: Twin over Full Bunk Bed. Bunk Bed weight limits are 200lbs for the top bunk and 400lbs for the bottom full bed. This bedroom is better designed for 3 children or only 2 adults.

★ Bedroom 4: One Twin Daybed

All upstairs bedrooms are equipped with central air conditioning and heat.

★ Basement Sleeping Area: The basement sleeping area is a large inviting space. It features one queen bed. The entire basement is not equipped with heat or air conditioning but typically stays at a pretty comfortable temperature. There is an overhead ceiling fan, along with a standup portable fan/ heater combo for your use while sleeping in the basement.

Each sleeping area includes a variety of pillows and clean, premium linens and sheets.

★ Bathrooms ★

This historic home features 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.

One full bathroom is conveniently located to the 4 second story bedrooms. The second story bathroom includes 1 sink, 1 toilet and 1 cast iron clawfoot tub with a hand held shower. Linens and makeup cloths are provided in the adjacent hallway linen closet. There is also shampoo, conditioner and body wash available along with a provided hair dryer.

The basement full bathroom is conveniently located to the basement sleeping area. It includes one sink, one toilet and one large walk in shower. It also includes shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Extra linens are available in the wall closets behind the sink. With this being an older home, this bathroom does not have an electrical outlet, but for your convenience a small vanity has been set up in the basement sleeping area with an extra mirror and a hair dryer to help you get ready after your refreshing shower!

The half bathroom is located off the kitchen on the main floor. It includes one sink and one toilet. All bathrooms are equipped with 2 starter rolls of toilet paper.

★ Game Room ★

Exhausted from too much white water rafting or hiking? Plan to spend a day playing at home! Our game room is equipped with a ¾ size Ping Pong table and a wide variety of board games and puzzles to help pass your time away! Please note: The game room is equipped with central heat, but not A/C. There is an overhead ceiling fan as well as a standup fan located in the corner for your use in the game room.

★ Basement Laundry Room ★

Located in the basement off the sleeping area is a large laundry room equipped with a washer, dryer, and original cast iron sink. Please note that the laundry room is an unfinished space. It is located in the same space as the water heater, furnace and boiler system. There are also two locked off areas in the laundry room. The first is the owner's closet that is used by the housekeeper and the garage storage room. Please do not tamper or mess with the water heater or furnace as well as the locks. We promise there is nothing exciting behind those doors!

★ Sunroom ★

This home has a quaint tea room set up on the adjacent sunroom to the kitchen. Please note this area is an unconditioned space so it may be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

★ Outdoor Patio Area ★

Relax and enjoy the large outdoor patio that includes:

✔ 4 Adirondack chairs (to help prevent them from blowing away they may be stacked up under the deck stairs)

✔ Enter the home through the front door. The ENTRY CODE will be emailed to you 24 hours before check-in.

✔ Parking: The private driveway can hold 2-3 cars. Please no parking on the grass.

✔ Security Cameras: This home is equipped with 4 outdoor security cameras that record video and sound and will be on. The first security camera is located under the front porch. The second security camera is located on the garage wall facing the driveway. The third security camera is located on the rear wall of the house facing the patio. The fourth is located at the side door. We do not monitor the cameras after you have arrived, except for safety purposes only and for ensuring adherence to our occupancy rules.

✔ Absolutely no cameras are located anywhere inside the house.

Trash: Please place your bagged trash in the trash bins located on the patio.

IMPORTANT: We strongly recommend trip insurance as we do not provide refunds outside of our cancellation policy. Weather issues or other concerns do not qualify for a refund. Trip insurance is very affordable and will cover you in case any emergency requires you to cancel.

We require service animals to be accompanied by their owner at all times, housebroken (no indoor piddle pads are allowed), in control and must always be leashed while outside on the property. If a service animal is brought to the property, you must bag and dispose of their waste
* This house is equipped with a historic boiler system. Please DO NOT TOUCH or HANG on any of the pipes that are running throughout the house. They may be hot in the winter and they can break and/ or bust if they are pulled on! Please monitor children around the pipes.

* We ask that you remain respectful of our neighbors. Please keep noise level to a minimum and no loud or vulgar music. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM - 7:

- "They thought of everything. Clean, well equipped. We loved the ping pong table. Board games, plenty of towels. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone. Very close (maybe 15 minutes) to all the New River Gorge activities. We went hiking, rafting, rock climbing, fishing and zip lining. Grocery stores nearby for eating in as well as lots of restaurants. Loved the grill and fire pit as well. Great place for us to gather with our adult children for a wonderful Long weekend. Guest access

Guests will have full access to the entire house via a touchpad keyless entry system, located on the front door. The entry code will be provided 72 hours before arrival and changed after every guest. There are two non-occupied sheds on the property that guests won't have access to.

Someone may stop by during your stay to mow the yard.

Other things to note

- Pricing does vary based on group size, and whether you are bringing pets.
- The first ensuite private bath has a retro tub and shower combo, which is smaller than standard size.
-To complete your booking, we require a signed Photo ID and signed rental agreement within 48 hours of booking. Details will be automatically sent upon reservation. Reservations without a completed agreement may be subject to cancellation.
-Max Cars: 2. The driveway accommodates a maximum of two cars; no street parking is available.
-BYO firewood for backyard fire pit, and charcoal for grill.

Pets:

-Unregistered pets are not allowed on the property

We love hosting dogs and welcome up to two approved pups for $40 per night, per dog. Please inquire before booking to confirm. All dogs must be registered.

Dogs must be house-trained, crated if left alone, and kept off beds and furniture to help us maintain a clean, allergy-friendly space. Don’t forget to pick up after them in the yard—future guests will thank you!

Excessive cleaning, pet mess, or unregistered dogs will result in a $250 additional cleaning fee.

Important:

For your safety, this property is equipped with one exterior security camera. Camera 1 is positioned at the front door, facing the driveway and front yard. This camera has outward views only and does not capture interior spaces. They activate recording of video and sound when triggered by motion.

We highly recommend trip insurance as we do not provide refunds outside of our cancellation policy. Weather, power outages, family emergencies, sudden illness, natural disaster, etc do not qualify for a refund. Trip insurance is very affordable and will typically cost less than 10% of your trip cost.

There was a sense of welcome with everything in order and a couple lights on that said we were expected. We enjoyed the outdoor patio and had everything we needed for our three night stay. Although we did not spend time in the New River Gorge Preserve due to a Conference we were attending, this is a great location for accessing all the hiking and sights of this beautiful part of the country. Another perk was the ice cream shop and the Black Bear Pastry shop within walking distance (one block) from the house. We would definitely stay here again."

Even though the property is near a main road we couldnt hear any traffic at all. The kitchenware is a little sparse so I wish we'd brought a frying pan, but otherwise we had everything we needed!
