The apartment does have a separate outside entrance and Matt will be very respectful of your presence in the house and your right to privacy and a quiet and non-intrusive Retreat stay. This is a three bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom home. It is walking distance to downtown and Virginia Tech! The house has modern furniture and is well equipped with everything you need to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one.

The house features a spacious outdoor patio with a large table and chairs. There are lights surrounding the patio if you wish to spend time outside in the evening. There are also two decks and one has a small outdoor table and chairs.

Originally constructed in 1992, this 2,166 foot square Cape Cod style lodge has 4 bedrooms, (2 queen beds, 1 king bed and 1 memory foam sofa bed), 4 bathrooms and a modern kitchen. Sofas and inflatable mattresses are available for extra guests if requested. Propane fuels the heating system and stove. Exposed natural timber and stone interior blend with all natural hardwood floors providing guests with the truest sense of modern cabin life. Although guests will find themselves totally isolated in this woods retreat, the lodge offers Dish TV and WiFi.

Virginia Tech and the Town of Blacksburg are the two primary draws to the area in addition to the multitude of experiences offered in the variety outdoor activities. Guests often enjoy the early morning hours for bird watching and the early evening hours for listening to the choruses of frogs, toads and owls. For the Jefferson National Forest, the U.S.D.A. Forest Service reports more than 175 species of songbirds, owls, hawks and falcons as well as an assortment of frogs and toads to include American Toads, Fowler's Toads, Northern Spring Peepers, Gray Tree Frogs, Upland Chorus Frogs, Green and Wood Frogs and Pickerel Frogs.

Well this was the perfect place to do just that and more. Our cabin was right next to the creek and it was the perfect place to relax with coffee or a cocktail. There is wonderful hiking on the property and in nearby towns. We hiked to Cascade Falls which was a real treat-about 20 minutes away! We were there off season so there were no guests near us but I can imagine this as a great place to bring your family for fun and relaxation! We want to do just that! We are located just 25 minutes from Virginia Tech, 15 minutes to Radford University, and 25 minutes to Claytor Lake state park! Shopping and dining are located 10-15 minutes away for your convenience.
Whether you are a fisherman looking to spend a week fishing with some buddies or a football fan wanting a relaxing space to see the Hokies play, this is a great out of the way yet convenient location.

The space
Our Fishing Creek Cabin is a cozy antique log cabin with modern amenities. It is known for its designer touches and comfort, making for the perfect getaway for you and your family!
Open floor plan (studio style) with a comfortable full sized in the loft (accessed by a ladder), 2 sets of twin over twin bunk beds in the main area, 1 full bathroom with heated floors (stocked with towels, washcloths, and toiletpaper), a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, toaster, toaster oven, induction hot plate, sink, and microwave (dishware, glasses, silverware, basic cooking ware and a Keurig with a handful of K-Cups included). There is a picnic table located right outside the cabin for outdoor dining. A TV with a DVD player only are included in the cabin. On the front porch you can find a park style charcoal grill for cookouts during your stay (charcoal not included).

After a day of hiking, fishing, and adventures around the estate and surrouding areas, your family can relax and unwind by the firepit, while enjoying a meal cooked on the parkstyle grill (firewood not included but available for purchase).

There is one full bathroom with a toilet and shower (towels included), and a full kitchen with basic cookware (dishware, silverware, bakeware, over fire pots/pans, microwave, toaster, air fryer, and drip coffee maker. Outside there is a firepit, park style charcoal grill (charcoal not included---grilling utensils included), and a picnic table. There is a TV with a DVD player only.

Because of the rural location, there is no Wifi and very limited cell service inside the cabin. There is cell service at the entrance of the property though.

Open floor plan (studio style) with a comfortable queen sized bed in the open space, open loft (accessed by a wide ladder) with 2 twin sized beds, 1 full bathroom with heated floors (stocked with towels, washcloths, and toiletpaper), a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, range, sink, and microwave (dishware, glasses, silverware, cooking ware, toaster, microwave, and a Keurig with a handful of K-Cups included). Our dining table has seating for up to 4 people. There is a picnic table located right outside the cabin for outdoor dining. This cabin features a wood burning fireplace to keep you warm during our winter months (firewood not included but available for purchase). A TV with a DVD and BlueRay player only are included in the cabin.

This rental is 225 sq feet with an open floor plan (studio style) with a Queen bed and full over full bunk bed. These are located at our Sherwood Forest area of the property which is close to the creek.

There is no running water inside the unit. Guests will need to collect water from their sinks at the Bath House or the kitchen.
