Matthew Blair, (26) is a PhD candidate in Environmental Science at VATech. The apartment does have a separate outside entrance and Matt will be very respectful of your presence in the house and your right to privacy and a quiet and non-intrusive Retreat stay. But he will be happy to chat with you about the area or answer questions you might have or help you out in any way that he can while you're there.

This is a three bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom home. It is walking distance to downtown and Virginia Tech! The house has modern furniture and is well equipped with everything you need to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one.

Originally constructed in 1992, this 2,166 foot square Cape Cod style lodge has 4 bedrooms, (2 queen beds, 1 king bed and 1 memory foam sofa bed), 4 bathrooms and a modern kitchen. Sofas and inflatable mattresses are available for extra guests if requested. Propane fuels the heating system and stove. Exposed natural timber and stone interior blend with all natural hardwood floors providing guests with the truest sense of modern cabin life. Although guests will find themselves totally isolated in this woods retreat, the lodge offers Dish TV and WiFi.

Forest Service reports more than 175 species of songbirds, owls, hawks and falcons as well as an assortment of frogs and toads to include American Toads, Fowler's Toads, Northern Spring Peepers, Gray Tree Frogs, Upland Chorus Frogs, Green and Wood Frogs and Pickerel Frogs.

Well this was the perfect place to do just that and more. Our cabin was right next to the creek and it was the perfect place to relax with coffee or a cocktail. There is wonderful hiking on the property and in nearby towns. We hiked to Cascade Falls which was a real treat-about 20 minutes away! We were there off season so there were no guests near us but I can imagine this as a great place to bring your family for fun and relaxation! We want to do just that! On faculty street you are walking distance to anything VT has to offer whether its ball games, the moss arts center, a campus tour, or you just want to relive and make new memories with a walk to PK’s or TOTS. This home is located a short walk away from Torgerson bridge entrance. If you are traveling into ROA you could easily skip the delays and pains of a rental car if your business is on campus as you are walking distance to everything except the CRC, we would recommend UBER or a Bike for those trips.

If you just want a quiet place to relax while visiting the home is also just far enough off main street to be a quiet resting spot to recharge after a long day working on campus. The home is surrounded by foliage and borders the entrance to Han park so the noises of the student nightlife are not something you have to hear inside the block and mortar walls.

We do consider long term rentals and provide discounts for business travelers traveling on an extended stay. Please no requests under 25 years old.

- "Dawn was very responsive to our inquiries. House was a great short-term housing solution for our travel crew, who worked the entire summer at Virginia Tech. So much better than putting them up in hotel. The house provided them comfortable and clean accommodations as well as individual privacy, as each crew member had their own bedroom. Having a kitchen allowed for "home cooking" instead of fast food every day. We would love to return next year if work brings us back to the Blacksburg area!"

This historic farmhouse is tucked away in a rural settings but just 2 miles from the Virginia Tech campus and 3 miles to downtown Blacksburg. Three spacious bedrooms provide ample space for your stay - two king bed rooms upstairs, and a queen Murphy bed downstairs. Two large, full bathrooms and a jacuzzi tub with a view upstairs. With gorgeous mountain and sunset views from windows and three outdoor patio areas, you’re steps away from walking trails at Heritage Park, and biking and walking trails along the Huckleberry Trail and Macdonald Hollow and Poverty Creek trail systems. Enjoy live music, craft beer and table-on-farm dining next door at Rising Silo Brewery, and pick up fresh, local products and meats at Glade Road Growing farm.

Reminiscent of an illuminated floating lantern, our Glo Haus offers elevated glamping among the trees. Our Glo Pod consists of three pods: two sleeping pods and one gathering pod. The two sleeping pods comfortably sleep up to two people in Twin XL to King conversion beds. We have included unique features such as a slide exit for kids, a swing, and Aurora Night Sky projectors for a special light show. This will be a truly unique experience!
