The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower just right. The hot breakfast in the morning was exceptional for being a complementary breakfast. I took the one mile loop walk that was close to the lodge and although I enjoyed the walk, the trail needs some attention. It has eroded in places causing it to be somewhat treacherous, especially near the lake. One false step and I would be in the water!"

Red Gate Farm and Vineyard's breathtaking property spans 28 acres along the Ohio River. It features a 7 acre vineyard, a wedding barn, large cabin, and separate guesthouse, perfect for a wedding destination, work retreat, family vacation, or just to celebrate a special occasion.

The cabin is spacious and charming, full of unique vintage inspired decor gathered from local antique shops. Enjoy the peaceful sunrise and sunsets from the deck while overlooking the river. Kitchen includes vaulted ceilings, granite counters, built in microwave and second oven, new flat top stove and fridge, and a dishwasher. Dining room has a custom made table that seats 8 and there are 2 barstools for the counter.

**All weekends mid April-October are blocked for wedding bookings. We will open the calendar for summer bookings in February of each year. You can ask to be placed on a waitlist and will have priority booking and will be notified when dates do open up**

~You will have full private use of the pool and hot tub and semi private use of the shared large parking lot/driveway. That means there could be renters occupying the guesthouse next door. Please note that the pool area of the house and the entrance to the guesthouse are on opposite ends and far enough away that one should not be bothered by the other. We ask that you please be mindful and no loud music outdoors after 10 pm.

~The home is for booked guests only. Please no additional guests or gatherings without prior permission.

~There is a CSX train that comes through about 3-4 times/day. Times vary and trains are short.

~The pool IS NOT heated and opens mid-end of May. Also note that there are no handrails on the steps leading into the pool.

~There are stairs leading up to the house. This home is not recommended for those with mobility issues. Please note the stairs in the photo of the home's front entrance.

~The cabin is not child-proofed or child friendly. We have many guests who have children, but it’s important for children to be supervised during their stay. The pool does not have a fence.

~We do have outdoor cameras for your safety and ours.

~We are in the country and beetles and stink bugs find their way into the small cracks and crevices in the spring and early summer months despite spraying. I provide a handheld vacuum that works nicely to pick them up.

Welcome to Third Hollow Farm! Our guest will enjoy a quiet country setting on 500 acres of private wooded land. Our cabin is situated in the woods with access to hiking trails which have views of the Ohio river, wildlife, Kinniconick creek that is perfect for kayaking or the Garrison boat ramp both are a 3 mile drive from cabin. If you’re not into hiking you’re welcome to bring your ATV. It’s easy to get to, the road is paved all the way to the end of the gravel lane that leads to the cabin. You will be able to enjoy the amenities of home such as wifi, TV’s, central heat and air, city water and a fully furnished kitchen. You will be far enough away from the noises of everyday life but close enough to civilization that you don’t have to cook if you don’t want to! Perfect for a family vacation, spending time with friends or a romantic getaway. Enjoy the mornings sitting on the large porch and the evenings around a campfire. Or if you’re more active the Ohio river is less than 10 minutes away, so bring your boat! There is also kinniconick creek access for kayaking.

Nestled on 4 wooded acres along Pond Creek, this one of a kind cabin will certainly be a unique experience. Walls of windows blur the lines between inside and out, connecting you with nature in every room. The house is very open, with rooms winding around the central stone fireplace with varying levels. The kitchen is stocked with supplies for preparing your own meals, but downtown Portsmouth restaurants are just 10 minutes away. Outside are patios for relaxing and woods for walking.

We live in the area but not on this property. Guests have the entire space, inside & out, to themselves.

This is a residential area and the neighbors enjoy the privacy of the dead-end road. It's pretty quiet out here and they appreciate a low level of noise after 10 pm. We hope you'll enjoy that as well.

You have access to the cabin and 4 acres. Due to safety concerns, the loft is inaccessible to guests. There are patios, fire pit, paths to explore, and a platform that overlooks the creek.

PLEASE NOTE the openness of this house is way cool. This means the bathroom and shower are open to the bedroom, which has no door. The bathroom does have a door to the main living area. Questions? Just ask.

There is a king size bed in the bedroom. For additional guests, the couch in the living room pulls out to a queen size bed. The cabin is pet-friendly and we only ask that pets are kept off the furniture and bedding. We allow pets to stay for free and this helps us keep it that way! The interior of the cabin is non-smoking.

If you head south on State Route 73, you're about 5 minutes from Giovanni's (pizza, sandwiches, pasta) and an IGA for groceries. The Boneyfiddle Historic District of Portsmouth is also south about 10 minutes.

There is firewood available for use in the firepits. Bringing firewood from where you live can spread harmful insects and diseases. Please help protect the local trees and forest by only using the firewood provided.

Located in the Boneyfiddle Historic District, this upstairs apartment has plenty of space for your stay. The second floor apartment has living room, kitchen, dining room, and bedroom with king bed. We live in the area and work close-by but not in the building. Most guests we never meet face to face. However, we are available to answer questions.

We love the Boneyfiddle Historic District! Located along the Ohio River, our space is within walking distance of local restaurants, shops, Shawnee State University, and over 2000 feet of floodwall murals. You're also only a short drive to Shawnee State Park.

The Landing, a coffee shop, is located on the first floor of the building. They do have live music which can sometimes be heard in the apartment but is wrapped up by 9 or 10 pm. Here's the basic schedule:

- "We had a lot of fun staying here with our 2 large dogs! The cabin was unique and really cozy. Our dogs were a little scared of the metal stairs, but got used to them for the most part. We loved the swings outside and the dogs had a blast splashing in the river. It was such a relaxing trip. My only real complaint is one of the toilets was really dirty. I'm guessing someone just forgot to clean it because the other one wasn't like that. The cabin could use a good dusting/deep clean. It would also be really helpful to build the pet fee into the payment for the cabin if possible. The property manager was very nice, attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this cabin and would love to go back sometime!"

A cozy stay on the Little Sandy River, this cabin is a perfect place for your next friend vacation or couples retreat! Minimally furnished but with everything you need to enjoy a cup of coffee and head outdoors. All cabin rooms share a deck and access to the open area under cabin where simple meals can be fixed. Each room has it's own bathroom with shower. The Lemon-Aid and Lime-Leisure rooms have a queen bed and The Strawberry Dreams has a double. The backyard has a split level dock right on the river. Towels and linens provided. Underneath the cabin is an open air kitchen with an apartment sized fridge, microwave, hotplate, toaster, coffee pot and basic supplies to prepare a meal. A table that seats 4 and a bar with bar stools complete the area.
Located adjacent to Dragonfly Outdoor Adventures, our cabin is the perfect quiet get away during the week. Weekends you can see the (mild) adventure seekers take to the water in kayaks. Located 2.3 miles from the Ohio river, it is an easy paddle on a river with little to no current. No shuttling needed. Paddle upstream or downstream and back to dock with ease. A fire pit and charcoal grill are located on the property. Firewood can be purchased and supplied to your fire ring.

We welcome 1 well behaved dog on a leash when others are on property. We just ask that you clean up after them, and if you leave the property, they are crated or taken with you. A $50 non-refundable pet fee is due upon arrival if not added in during booking. Please send us a message letting us know if you are bringing your fur baby.
We have a restroom and kayak storage located under this cabin that is available for use to our kayak guests on weekends.

- "Nice and clean!" - "Booked this trip for the weekend had out of state people that were meeting us. As you enter the road you’ll see trailers with missing windows, junk everywhere it was questionable but we kept going. Once arrived we kinda just looked at eachother as it’s a dump but wanted to at least check the rooms. We opened each door opon opening the last door a foul oder hit us. Looking for what could be the smell we found rotten chop meat in a trash can, called the owners and maya states she’s sorry she sent her grandkids to clean? She then sends a guy he comes with a dog mind you it’s pouring, him and the wet dog enter the room remove the meat and spray free-breeze it was the most horrible smell ever!! The place is filthy just filthy. We changed our minds the owner refused to reimburse me. We had to find anther place to stay. You’d be better off skipping this and just go camping."
