It won’t be the last! It was a lovely place to stay; great bedroom, comfy bed, powerful shower, onsite parking, lovely staff and good breakfast. " - "Room was bigger than anticipated with a good shower and bath ensuite. Breakfast was too much (so chose the smaller version) if you are going walking afterwards. It was great though. - "Good place to stay for night" - "YHA set in a stunning location, basic accomodation with easy access to the Lake District set in stunning scenery. Good food, friendly staff and excellent value for money." - "The property is in a beautiful location and remote. The drive up is not for the feint hearted, but well worth it for the location." - "Staff were great and location could be considered good for some as it is located at the base of some of the Helvellyn ascent routes, however, it is also a 25 minute walk from Glenridding, so consequently there are no shops in the immediate vicinity. Staff were great as said, and there is a communal kitchen and drying room, though the WiFi was virtually not working at all, and any little spark of life had to be taken from a very specific part of the ground floor building. Honestly, for the price paid, to not have working WiFi, I would consider it quite the rip-off. The room door was also not functioning properly, and though the bathrooms were clean, and the showers good, it is priced too high for a place without basic 2024 amenities - i.e. WiFi (there is no mobile signal)."

The kitchen was really well equipped and the whole place was just stunning. Would totally recommend! Thank you!" - "This cottage is beautiful, the pictures and description really don’t give you the beauty of it. Very comfortable and finished to a high standard of furnishings," - "What a great cottage. It has been finished to a high standard and feels like home and not a rental place where most stuff has been done on the cheap. The heating worked fine and was cozy all week. Great views from the main bedroom (huge room). It has hardly any garden and would not get the afternoon sun in the summer, but we stayed in November,so no probs. Loads of walks/wainwrights right on your doorstep,so can leave the car for most of the week. Would love to book it again for May,but seems to be fully booked already ! so that says how good it is."

- "Excellent cottage, well equipped, tasty welcome pack. Great views from the balcony and walks from the door. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo" - "This beautifully kept cottage is in a great location in Glenridding. It is perfect for walking up Helvellyn, or in poor weather, the surrounding hills which give spectacular views of Ullswater. The beds are very comfortable and use high quality linen. The kitchen was well-supplied with pans, storage containers, cooking utensils, dishes and cutlery. Particularly wonderful is the upstairs sitting room with an attached balcony. Glenridding is happily in one of the best places in the UK for seeing the stars; we could see the full-blown core of the Milky Way from the balcony! We walked up the street a few times toward the Helvellyn trailhead, to experience a view of the Milky Way core in full darkness, but it turns out the balcony of Molly’s College was just as good! The cottage also has a washing machine and a folding outdoor clothesdryer. The clothesdryer is right next to a large bush of lavender, which makes the clothing smell great. We highly recommend Molly’s Cottage for a wonderful visit to the Lake District. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo"

Are you looking for a cosy cottage in a quiet secluded place for the two of you? Are you looking for a place to chill out and let the world go by? Do you fancy a relaxed evening in front of a log fire, reading a book or watching the TV in a quaint setting? Well, you have just discovered the place you are looking for. Mill Cottage has old-world rustic charm, with exposed beams, pitched rafters, hardwood floors and doors, with the natural beauty of wood being a prominent feature. Comfortably furnished and well equipped, the cottage is loved by our guests, testament to which are the glowing comments in our guest book.
Mill Cottage is located in the Hartsop conservation area at the heart of the Lake District, amongst high mountains, close to Patterdale, Glenridding and Ullswater, as well as Ambleside and Windermere. This 2-bedroom (3-person) self catering holiday cottage is at the bottom of the Kirkstone Pass and well placed for walking many Wainwright peaks, exploring the Lakeland valleys, and engaging in water sports. Mill Cottage provides spacious, comfortable and well-equipped accommodation of a high standard in an old Grade II listed building, in which exposed beams, pitched rafters and wooden floors feature prominently. With a beckside location in outstanding countryside, the cottage has the main living rooms on the first floor to take full advantage of the extensive and magnificent views.
The south-facing patio, overlooking open countryside towards Brotherswater and Dovedale, commands a lovely sunny and sheltered position, an ideal location for those refreshing drinks after a day on the fells. The sound of running water from the beck, and the seclusion of the garden will encourage relaxation and the on-set of holiday-mode.
Awarded 4-Stars and Gold Award (from Visit England) and a Certificate of Excellence (Trip Advisor), the cottage is comfortably furnished, and well equipped. According to our guests, it is more spacious than expected for a 2 bedroom cottage. The main room, kitchen and a bathroom are on the first floor to take advantage of thr panoramic views, and being open to the rafters and having roof windows, gives the place a sense of light and openness. The bedrooms have hardwood floors, and the entrance hall a Westmorland slate floor. A wood-burner offers a cosy atmosphere at cooler times. If you like a place of rustic character and old-world charm, this is the cottage you are looking for, having exposed beams, pitched rafters, oak and ash hardwood floors, ash doors, as well as a pitch-pine staircase.
There is a gated area at the front of the cottage for free parking. The cottage is in the small hamlet of Hartsop, amongst the fells which are accessible from the front door, allowing your car to be left behind. If you are a walker, then the cottage couldn't be better located, as the fells start at the doorstep..
Hartsop is a small hamlet located at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass, two miles south of Patterdale and three miles south of Glenridding. Ullswater is in walking distance. The steamer service on Ullswater, to Aira Force, Howtown and Pooley Bridge, is easily accessible from the cottage.
The cottage is in a good location for guests wishing to visit places such as Windermere, Ambleside and Kendal in the South Lakes, as well as Keswick, Penrith and Cockermouth in the North Lakes area. Also, a selection of shops, pubs, hotels and restaurants are located within 3 miles of the cottage.
