Very quiet, had a good night's sleep. The road nearby didn't bother me, I never heard it at night."

- "We loved the isolation and to be able to disconnect from our busy lives. It was very quiet and peaceful. You don’t notice your neighbors and everyone is very respectful of each other. The views of Mt. Adams were awesome. We explored the area and did some hikes. We cooked breakfast and dinner over the fire every day and enjoyed s’mores every night. There are not a lot of dining options in the area but if you are there for isolation, peace and quiet, and time in nature then it is a great location. If you like a fire every night then bring your own firewood. They provide some but it is not much. There is a cute general store a mile from the cabins if you forget anything. They did a great job of providing everything you need in your cabin. The only thing I would change with the cabins is providing some shelving above the bed for clothing etc so people can unpack. We loved it and will definitely use Postcard Cabins again. "

- "Very clean and lovely home in a quiet and remote area near Lyle, with a couple of great wine tasting options near by! The kitchen and bedrooms are very spacious and outdoor deck areas were great for evening star watching. Highly recommend this property!" - "Beautiful location, but the long road leading to the rental is treacherous with few warning signs. The house was clean, but furnishings could be updated and the dining room chairs are super uncomfortable. The spiral staircase is also quite treacherous. Warnings should be given to potential tenants. We were a group of 5 older sisters and it was impossible for 3 of us to use the staircase. The bathtub plug upstairs does not hold water and showerhead needs replaced or cleaned out. The heater in the front downstairs bedroom only worked intermittently. "

- "This house exceeded expectations and there have been upgrades since some of the pics were taken (as mentioned in another review). We loved the location on the river, and the fact that the area by the water had been mowed/weeded. AC in the house was fantastic and extras like coffee beans & a grinder show that this is a thoughtful owner. - "Great stay. Beautiful location on the river and comfortable cabin. Watch your children and pets. We did get a visiting rattlesnake on the porch. Not a big deal. We’ll be back!" - "The property was just what I wanted, with the Klickitat River rushing right by and the tall cliff walls on the opposite side. Watch tubers, kayakers and fisherman pass by on the water was lots of fun. Both the side patio and back deck seating areas were perfect for avoiding or catching the sun's rays throughout the day. The kitchen was well-stacked with adequate pans and staples. It was a little tight with 5 adults and an infant, but it fit our budget!"

- "Abundant room for all ages, our group of 17 sisters, SIL, nieces and grandnieces truly enjoyed the ability to spread out (indoors, on dexks and the expansive grounds outdoors) when desired, but gather together at dinner, for board games, movie watching. Making s'mores at the firepit was a highlite, as were the nearby trails for walks & hikes. Highly recommend!!" - "We had a great time! The house was clean and well stocked, and communication was easy and clear. The layout is incredible for a group of friends and family - especially the main living room."

- "Beautiful Home, Elizabeth and Greg set us up well with a bottle of wine from one of the many excellent local vineyards. We made a three hour drive to the coast to spend the day at Ecola State Park, Locally - Mountain Biking, Curtain Falls (one of many local hikes). You would not believe the wind surfers on the Columbia River. The girls wanted to take a class, but ran out of time. Mount Hood is an Hour drive. We had a great hike." - "This home is so beautiful and such a great private place for relaxing. We unfortunately had a sick kiddo and did not get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked but everything exceeded my expectations from seeing it online. The view is spectacular of Mt. Hood and the property is so private and unique. They had everything and more that we needed and we felt very welcomed and taken care of by the hosts. The only thing that I would say is that the air conditioning cools the main part of house very well but the bedrooms still were very warm by the evening. With a baby it was just hard to keep him cool and comfortable but there are plenty of fans to help keep the bedrooms cool. Also, if you have a baby, bring blackout solutions for sleep. The guest bedroom was much darker than the master but we have a slumber tent and even with a fan going the tent got pretty warm for our son to sleep in. He was also sick though. So bringing something to put over the windows in the heat of the summer for little ones may be a better option. Overall, we would highly recommend the stay and would love to come back again."

Cabin with Panoramic view of Mt. Adams adjoining Conboy wildlife preserve. Elk Deer and a large variety of birds can frequently be observed from the porch or the cozy living room with a stone fireplace.
- "Our Men's Ministry Group does annual hikes on the Pacific Crest Trail. This year, as we finished up near Trout Creek, WA, the Glenwood "Cabin House," as I like to refer to it, was the perfect "go rest and celebrate" gathering place. Our group of guys found comfortable places to sit and talk and gaze at Mount Adams. The kitchen was just right for making a serving meals, and we tried to be extra careful, since the place is so special. This would also be a perfect place for a gathering of one or more families, subject to space limitations of course."

- "We came to the Gorge planning to hike the public trails, but this house and setting are so beautiful and unique that we spent most of our time at the house and on the deck. There was a little rain and we drove five minutes to Confluence Cafe and had great coffee and views right on the Columbia River. Super easy, amazingly clean. Highly recommend!" - "Amazing! Gorgeous! Stunning! Thesaurus! My beautiful wife & I needed a long weekend away, to ourselves, to recharge, rekindle, remember, & restore. Mary & John's place up the hill from Lyle, WA, replete with phenomenal views of Mt Hood, highland cattle, birds, deer, & chickens (yes, I know chickens are birds) was exactly what the doctor ordered (I'm a doctor so I should know, right?). PHEE-nominal!! My only regret was our departure. The house is a showcase & so well appointed. Appliances are top-of-the-line but there's also an understated luxury you can't help but appreciate. If you get the chance to meet Mary you'll understand it flows from her & is just how things should be. Nice towels, slippers, robes, pictures, pillows, blankets. A place for everything & everything in its place ... but with such style & grace. The house is renovated & built for 2, which is important to understand. It's primarily a couple's retreat. There are windows with views to the South (Mt Hood) & East (cattle). The floors are great, the counters fantastic. The cabinetry is wonderful. Why would they VRBO this place & live anywhere else? The hardware, lights, sliding glass doors, fireplace (inside & out), the finish on the walls, wrap-around deck, the birds & trees, & places to sit & enjoy a book or a view or a pillow or a blanket or each other ... just WOW! My wife is SO in love with me again & I didn't even try... Well, I did find this place, didn't I? Hey, why am I limited to 1.5k characters?"

Does a little rustic romance tickle your fancy? Then take a step back in time to when home really was where the heart is. "When I stay at Lothlorien Woods Tree House it's like a place to live and love, not admire and be afraid to touch! It's rustic, simple, so easy to love and be loved!" Our Tree House is a unique example of life in a more primitive, idyllic time of greater appreciation for simple things in life.
Come stay where it's really okay to "Slow Down and Watch the Moss Grow!"
- "Property was amazing, directions were spot on and it was beautiful. The spiral staircase was tight and definitely not kid friendly. The bathroom upstairs and showered were great!!" - "We had such an incredible time at this lodging. We wanted to get away from the stress of the city and found this gem of a place. Our first night, we were sitting at the hot tub listening to music when it started snowing! It was magical. We had downloaded some movies on our tablet and enjoyed watching them wrapped around a fire. Not to mention, how incomparable it is to wake up in the middle of nowhere with your significant other and no interruptions. That being said, I should reiterate some key points that should be obvious from the description but you should have in mind. This lodging is ouuuut there. You have to follow the directions of the host exactly because a) there’s no cell reception for half of the way and b) the roads get pretty wild out there and the last thing you want is to get stuck there. If you are driving, make sure you have snow chains and a 4x4. We had an all wheel drive and I think we would’ve done better on the road leading up to the house if we had a sturdier vehicle. The communication with the hosts leading up to the stay was excellent. I felt like my questions were thoroughly answered and they seemed like lovely folks. Anyways, I don’t know why the last review is from 2017 but I’ve recommended this place to literally everyone I know. It is THAT good! Give yourself a chance to delight in the magic of this place, you won’t regret it."

- "The yurt was stunningly beautiful and comfortable way beyond our expectations. The quality of the workmanship that went into the building and furnishing of this accommodation was amazing and cannot be overstated. Loved the stove and lighting and all the remotes. And the hot tub was one of the best features. The caretaker was always available and gave us so much information about the history of the area, the people who lived nearby, and the animals we might see."

The property is private and I hope to go back in the summer and enjoy the awesome decks. The owners clearly care about their guests experience. They checked in with us and gave us lots of helpful tips for places to hike in the area. Thanks for a great stay! We will be back."

- "This place was so adorable. Clean, easy check in, host was very responsive and easy to work with. The house had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for some R and R. " - "The highlands house was cozy, cute and just what we needed for our trip. It needed some attention from a cleanliness perspective, but for a group that only needed a place to sleep and shower, it was just fine. The property was gorgeous and tucked away from any hustle and bustle. There were plenty of rooms and places to rest for a group of adults. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking large meals and had a nice coffee station for our early morning crew. We would potentially return at a lower price point. "
