- "My husband and I enjoyed the Hotel Deluxe very much for an extended weekend in Portland in late July. The property was clean and well kept, and located steps away from public transit and an easy walk to downtown restaurants, breweries, and shopping. Quiet neighborhood. The old Hollywood vibe was a surprise - I did not notice it in the online listing but was happy to see it done so well. The décor was reminiscent of the glory days of Clark Gable, Orson Welles and Katherine Hepburn. We are both movie buffs, so we thoroughly enjoyed this facet of our stay. Room was basic but comfortable - large closet, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker, tiny fridge, TV. Bed was comfy. The wifi was frustratingly difficult to use. Hotel has bike rentals available at the front desk, but we did not take them up on it (save this for our next visit.) We rode transit to the International Rose Test Garden and other attractions at Washington Park - a great and easy day trip. Brewvana tour was a blast and easy to book, good value. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends - other couples traveling on romantic weekend getaway or girls trip. This would be a great place for a wedding party stay. Not really equipped as a family-friendly place for kids. We will definitely return to this property."

- "I believe the hotel had only been open a few weeks when we visited. Parts of it are still under construction and should only make the experience more interesting once it's completed. We stayed in the top floor of a loft suite. The room had a lot of "wow" factors I enjoyed like the motorized curtains and high ceilings. I felt like an old lady on the spiral staircase, as my knee hurt in the tight twisting body movements, moving up the stairs. My husband mentioned his pillow was horribly stiff. The front desk staff informed us, the complaint was warranted as they only stuff pillows with natural materials which is a decision they are reconsidering. But overall the room was excellent. The thermal pools, tubs, sauna etc were outstanding. The one important safety issue they should address is the slippery floors which could use some rubber matting. If you really want to impress your guests who pay a hefty room charge, offer the Thermal pools for free/ or a nominal fee like $25 but charging $50-100 for a hotel guest seems high considering we paid $500/night for the hotel. - "What a wonderful property! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Orenco, so much so that I'm sure we will be back when we visit Oregon. Our room was lovely. The large soaking tub was great! The bed was incredibly comfortable too. We were given a nice bottle of wine upon arrival too :) We were also given $15 vouchers to use a nearby bakery, Tous Les Jours ... and that place was amazing! A huge selection of pastries, from savory to sweet, and very affordable. Great coffee and tea drinks too. Great breakfast!
