- "I believe the hotel had only been open a few weeks when we visited. Parts of it are still under construction and should only make the experience more interesting once it's completed. We stayed in the top floor of a loft suite. The room had a lot of "wow" factors I enjoyed like the motorized curtains and high ceilings. I felt like an old lady on the spiral staircase, as my knee hurt in the tight twisting body movements, moving up the stairs. My husband mentioned his pillow was horribly stiff. The front desk staff informed us, the complaint was warranted as they only stuff pillows with natural materials which is a decision they are reconsidering. But overall the room was excellent. The thermal pools, tubs, sauna etc were outstanding. The one important safety issue they should address is the slippery floors which could use some rubber matting. If you really want to impress your guests who pay a hefty room charge, offer the Thermal pools for free/ or a nominal fee like $25 but charging $50-100 for a hotel guest seems high considering we paid $500/night for the hotel. Historically a queer community home, our large house is welcoming, loving, respectful, inclusive, and quiet ~ with high ceilings and Victorian architectural touches. The Backyard Tiny House is lined with cedar, cozy and airy - and small. Folks are typically working during the day (though we've frequently had nurses on the night shift as well) with a gentle hum of activity in the evenings. Walk to shops, restaurants, bars, groceries, parks. Big covered porch, hot tub, outdoor spaces to enjoy.

The space
The Backyard Tiny House was handbuilt on top of a classic pickup truck bed. It's well insulated and lined in cedar, which is cozy and smells great. There's just enough room for a single bed, with benches for storage and hangout space. The yard is fully fenced and private. Access to the bathroom and kitchen are immediately inside the back door. Access to dining room, library, sitting room as well. There is a heater, but please note there is no AC, but there is a lovely fan which cools down the space.

Due to host with allergies, we have a zero tolerance policy for smokers, whether outside or inside. Residual smoke on clothes, and person will result in immediate cancelation of your stay. Best to choose another airbnb if you are a smoker. Thank you!

This space is a basement unit of a three-story home where my family and I live with our room mates.

Each bedroom has a Queen size bed, a full closet, TV, writing desk, chair, and dresser.

Other things to note
The home is next to Beaverton Hillsdale Highway, so there is quite a bit of road noise, but the windows inside insulate pretty well against it.

Casetta is a new modern guesthouse on a private residential property in Southwest Portland; tastefully designed with a minimalist aesthetic meant to immediately put you at ease. Less than 10 minutes to central Portland, Casetta can be a home base for city adventures, or a retreat to simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The space
The guest house is accessed by a large, shared, covered patio that can be enjoyed in all weather. Comfortable couches, a gas firepit, built-in gas grill, and outdoor dining create a space to relax outdoors at any time of day. Directly adjacent to the patio are a pool (heated may-sept) and hot tub open to shared guest use.

Upon entry, there is a large kitchenette that includes a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, sink, microwave, toaster oven, and all coffee + tea-making supplies. There is a full-size washer + dryer hidden in a closet in the kitchen hall, as well. Off the kitchen, the spa-like bathroom, which can be accessed from inside or from an exterior door, has rustic tile floors, plaster walls, and a rain shower.

The bedroom at the end of the hall contains a king bed, closet cabinetry with concealed TV, and a built-in daybed/couch that could be used as a twin-sized bed, if necessary. There is also room on the floor of the bedroom for a pack-n-play/crib if a small child is joining [a pack-n-play could also definitely fit in the bathroom if that’s part of your calculus].

Guests should keep in mind that the rest of the property is a shared space, so this is not a totally secluded rental.

The pool (heated may-sept) and hot tub on site is open to guest use. Our family, including 2 young kids, use the pool often on evenings and weekends in the summer, and it is not uncommon for us to have friends join to. We’ll give you a heads up if it’s going to be a crowd, and you are always welcome to use the pool alongside us!

Other things to note
We have a very friendly 65lb dog named Zucchini. You will undoubtedly meet him during your stay as he is king of the yard, so please do not book if you have a fear of or problems with dogs. He does not access the inside of the guesthouse, so allergies to dogs should not be a problem.

While we love all furry friends, no pets allowed, unfortunately.
