A huge selection of pastries, from savory to sweet, and very affordable. Great coffee and tea drinks too. Great breakfast! I had a rental car and I was able to park right outside the building every night while we were there. It's a very quiet and serene spot in Hillsboro. There's a nice grocery store close by, along with a number of restaurants and shops. It's truly a very lovely area. The staff are very friendly and accommodating too ... what more could you want? Welcome to Multnomah House, a classic Portland guest home located in the central city. Built in 1904 this home maintains all historic charm but with the amenities of a modern home. Multnomah House is located in near the Oregon Convention Center, the MAX Lloyd Station and shopping and entertainment along NE Broadway.

Whether you’re in Portland for a vacation, convention, wedding or other event, you and your group will feel right at home. During summer months, you can enjoy the front porch and Mediterranean garden or in the winter sit in the living room and enjoy the gas fireplace. The main house is where you’ll be staying while the ground level unit is occupied by the owner.

The kitchen is large and classic with subway tile wainscoting and beautiful fixtures. Completely stocked with all the items needed to prepare your meal de jour. Modern feature like a dishwasher and microwave also provided for real life demands.

There are two bathrooms. On the main floor, experience the life of the modern Turkish bath house. Toilet, sink and large double shower. Upstairs is a toilet, sink and a large claw foot tub/shower.

Formal dining room, living room and tv room will make you feel right at home.

There are 4 rooms, with two full and two queen size beds. One room with a queen size bed also has a full futon.

Summers can be enjoyed on the full size front porch, enjoying the Mediterranean garden.

We have a no pets policy and outside noise after 10pm is not allowed in keeping with our good neighbor agreement. Being a two unit home, some sound will travel between the ground level unit and the main floor of the house similar to staying at a hotel or living in a condo. Getting to the main home requires climbing 18 steps so this may be a consideration for some in your group. All bedrooms are located on the top floor of the house.

Parking is on street only. Some of the amenities mentioned in older reviews may no longer be available.

Architect designed Arbor Lodge cottage. Located in a quiet neighborhood 1/2 block from Arbor Lodge Park. The space is bright and gets a lot of natural light. I hope you find it comfortable and relaxing. It is also conveniently located to many nearby shops, grocery store, restaurants, pubs and transit connections (light rail and bus).

The space
I live in the main house. The guest cottage is a 490 sq. foot separate home located at the end of the driveway and has its own entry via keypad. This is your private space The guest cottage was designed by a local architect and features high ceilings, plenty of natural light a full bathroom, a bedroom with a queen sized bed and desk. The kitchen features a stove, fridge, coffeemaker, refrigerator, new utensils, pots and pans.

The living room sofa is a sleeper sofa so it can be folded out into a queen 3rd bed. There is a television with Roku for streaming as well as a blue tooth speaker. WiFI is also available. A washer and dryer is in the unit for your convenience. There are plenty of towels, basic toiletries, hair dryer and an iron and ironing board for use. The unit is well insulated.

The heating/AC unit is located above door to the bathroom and can be accessed by the remote. Please try to conserve energy if possible. Additionally there is radiant heat in the bathroom and living room (adjust the knob on the vents to turn on along the wall).

There is a timer light for the outside switch which automatically turns the outside light on in the evening for a few hours as well as when you enter at night. You can override the switch by pressing the button which is over the switch (immediately to the left of the door when you are inside looking at the front door). It does make a noise for a brief moment when the light goes on and off as the battery operated button on top is turning the switch. Thanks.

THE BASICS:

You'll have complete privacy with your own entrance and dedicated driveway on the opposite side of the block from my house. There's a small bistro table outside the front door - perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of Oregon Pinot. The studio stays comfortable year-round with heat and A/C.

WHAT'S INSIDE:

High-speed WiFi if you need to work or just want to stream shows. The TV has Netflix, Hulu and Sling ready to go. The kitchenette is compact but functional with a double burner, mini-fridge, microwave, and all the basics you need to cook simple meals. I've stocked it with coffee, tea, and cooking essentials.

You'll find plenty of Portland guidebooks and a few card games for
downtime.

GETTING AROUND:

The Max light rail is just a 10-minute walk away, and you can be in the heart of Mississippi Ave in under 25 minutes on foot. If you're driving, I-5 is just a few blocks down for easy access to everything else Portland and Oregon have to offer.

*The chaise sectional does fold out into a queen sleeper if you prefer separate beds - just let me know so I can provide extra linens. Please note that the maximum occupancy is strictly 2 guests total, regardless of sleeping arrangements.

The space
Beautiful, comfy space with lots of room. This fully renovated guesthouse allows for a peaceful, private and relaxing stay.

The kitchen is equipped with all the basic essentials for cooking your own meals, reheating, coffee, and much more.

The bathroom has extra hanging space for your clothes and other basic toiletries.

The bedroom has one queen size bed and its own heating system. Toddler cot available if requested.

The living room has Roku connected with all the basic subscriptions. 76.8" Futon Sofa Bed.

Parking: You will share the front dirt driveway with us. There are no sidewalks, so be mindful of that.

We also have basic kid toys and books from ages 0m-9yrs.

Please note, you are in the forestry part of Portland so you will naturally have some small bugs from time to time (ants, stink bugs, or small spiders) within the living space. We spray non-invasive exterior bug treatment, and have varies ant traps throughout the space.

We clean and disinfect extensively before and after each stay to ensure the space is nice and clean for each guest.

You are able to use the front yard area as needed for pet relief, or to hangout in.

This is a pet friendly home so please ensure to pick up animal waste accordingly.

This apartment still maintains all of its original charm from 1950. The walls are all finished in wood, and there are plenty of windows facing west to take advantage of the views into the large, landscaped yard complete with a firepit and miniature lavender garden. On a clear day, the apartment offers a gorgeous view of the Coast Range Mountains.

Bedroom is a queen bed with soft rolling edges and comes with good closet and shelf space for all your clothes and belongings.

Living room couch pulls out into an additional bed to sleep 1 or 2 guests. Topper provided to make your sleep comfortable.

Kitchenette has toaster oven, microwave, french press, coffee maker machine, kettle, tea / coffee, ninja blender and everything you need to share a meal at home.

Internet is gigabit fiber, plug directly into our hub or via WiFi and very suitable for work. We have an extra screen and mouse for your laptop you can even plug right into.

House has air conditioning, new double glazed windows, and central heating system that works to maintain ambient temperatures, and you have your own independent thermostat control.

Finally there is a washer & dryer shared with home owner in common utility room that you can use.

Sauna and hot tub!

We have a wonderful sauna and hot tub you can use! Sauna and hot tub are shared between you and the hosts who live upstairs, but we try to prioritize you, so you shouldn't have many issues with timing.

Back deck

You also have a large shaded wooden deck under our parasol, hammock, or on one of our comfortable outdoor wicker chairs (in the dryer months. During the rainy season we store the parasol and pillows).

Your door is at the back of the house, you walk around the south [right] side of the house to get there. After you keypad yourself in, walk down one flight of stairs to your private door, which also has a keypad and code yourself in.

Noise considerations

Homeowners live upstairs with their 11-year old son. The ceiling in your space is sound-insulated but you may still hear footsteps and sounds from above. Our son is asleep by 9pm and general quiet time is after 10pm.

If you are using our outside facilities late at night, please wrap up your sauna and hot tub use before 10pm.

Cats

We have a catio (an outdoor enclosure attached to the house) so that our indoor cats can safely enjoy some outdoor time.
The catio is in the shared backyard, so there will be cats on the property, but they'll be contained within the enclosure. You might also hear them having the occasional 'zoomies' upstairs!
There are no pets allowed in your space.

Sauna and hot tub rules

To use our spa area you agree to abide by our sauna and hot tub rules. These include, among others:

* Use of the sauna is shared with your host, you can let us know when you want to use it, but for the most part you can just jump in whenever you want!
* No use after 10pm
* No drinking (and no glass!) in or around the sauna and hot tub, other than water
* No outside shoes or clothes (nudity and bathing suits ok!)
* No children inside the sauna please
* No parties or day-guests please without approval

Electric car considerations

If you have an electric car (EV), we can accommodate charging Tesla as well as non-Tesla vehicles. We offer a Tesla 220v 40amp charge point as well as a J-1772 connection for other vehicles. Or you can plug right into our 14-50R socket if you have the right plug.

You share the charge point with the host: Sebastian, therefore times must be coordinated and approved.

If you want to use our charger for one recharge or top-up, this is complimentary!

However if you want to charge more than once, we will ask if you can help off set your electric costs, we ask for $20 a day beyond the first charge up. So please keep this in mind.

We will do our very best to ensure your car gets ALL the power it needs, but you do share access and the driveway, so there could be circumstances where we are unable to afford you hookup exactly when you need it - but we will do our best!

We are just 4 blocks from NE Going St. - a major bike highway that will connect you to so many more great neighborhoods of Portland. There is a bike rack on the patio where you can store your bike (we recommend bringing a lock.) Free street parking is plentiful - no permit required. The nearest bus stop is only 3 blocks away. The house is centrally located so it's also just a short drive, Lyft, or Uber to virtually anywhere in the city!

The space
The PDX Loft is a standalone building with a private courtyard, with no shared spaces or walls. It was professionally converted in 2018 from the original 1923 2-story garage - it's *gorgeous*.

It's free to park in the public parking space directly in front of The PDX Loft - there are no signs but it's still free to park. Standard disclaimer applies: it’s a public space on a busy street…but basically only our guests and the Amazon driver uses that spot.

The Loft's main floor boasts a full-size bedroom with a queen bed, and a closet with hangers, iron, and steamer. The upstairs bedroom features exposed original beams and hardwood floors, and is equipped with a king bed. Stairs to the loft are steep but sturdy. Although the stairs aren't dog- or child-friendly, a child gate is available for the top of the stairs. Large luggage works best on the main floor.

The beautiful kitchen has stainless steel appliances, quartz counters, food/snacks/drinks, and a glass tile backsplash. It's packed with smallwares, dishes, an assortment of oils & spices, and appliances. Check the freezer!

The kitchen has 150 high-quality separate food/drink/snack items available for free. These are not leftovers, they're for you specifically. We speak vegan and gluten-free, and eveything’s individually packaged.

The single stylish bathroom is also on the main floor, and has a corner shower unit and a washer/dryer combo.

You'll find 2 loveseats, two ottomans, and a total of 3 Roku smart TVs. The dining space has 6 chairs and a large table.

Courtyard: Outdoor privacy fenced space with a table and party lights. The private courtyard features a small area for dog relief.

Guest access
This is a self check-in property. You'll have full access for the duration of your stay, and can come and go as you please.

Ample free street parking is available, typically directly in front of the property. Guest assumes all liability for parking, as it's a public on-street space. The private, dedicated entrance to the guesthouse is the gate at the far end of the driveway.

The guesthouse door is equipped with a keypad. We'll provide you the code prior to check-in via AirBnB messaging.

Guests will not have access to the adjacent main house or its back yard.

Other things to note
Our guesthouse is fully-equipped for families, business travelers, or as a home base. Although it's dog-friendly, it's kept immaculately clean and odor-free.

There are no shared spaces, you get the entire detached guesthouse and its courtyard for your private use.

We can accommodate 5 overnight guests - 2 in each bedroom and 1 on a living room couch.

The Loft has its own dedicated Internet connection, which is fast, reliable, and covers the entire property. There is a Roku TV in each bedroom, and the living room. We have ample USB charging ports and cables throughout the property.

There is an off-leash dog park 5 *houses* away. You'll have a variety of leashes, harnesses, collars, bowls, and dog bedding available. Samples of local dog snacks may be provided - please help yourself. There's a dedicated dog relief area in the private courtyard.

The street has high traffic, but the guesthouse is entirely behind the main house, with a privacy fence. You'll still hear the occasional typical city sounds, but they're not excessive.

Please be mindful of our neighborhood environment. The guesthouse and courtyard are nestled among private back yards, owned by families.

There are no cameras in the guesthouse or its courtyard, or pointed at the guesthouse's gates. There is 1 camera pointed at the driveway.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate animals other than up to 2 well-behaved dogs.

Turn your space into a home theater with a 100” projector screen as well as surround sound speakers. There is high speed fiber wifi, and you can pair your device with the speakers as well.

There is a comfortable bed, couch, and a table that is perfect for two people to eat or to use as a desk.

The bathroom has a bidet and rain shower, and there is a stove top, microwave, fridge, and kitchen basics like all utensils, plates and pots and pans.

The loft has a private laundry room with high capacity laundry.

There is a shared space below the loft with a sauna, kitchenette, dishwasher and refrigeration.

There are two major grocery stores within a few blocks of the loft, as well as smaller corner stores. There is a fully stocked Keurig, and a coffee grinder, kettle and pour over carafe for the coffee snobs!

Not into brewing your own or cooking? Perfect! You are within minutes of the best foodtrucks and coffee carts in the city, including General Burnside, La Morenita, TOV Bus coffee, Stumptown, Fried Egg I’m In Love...the list goes on!

The Hawthorne bus, that will take you across the river to downtown, comes to the corner of the street.

The space is roomy enough for a third person or child. Please know there is a flight of stairs in the loft entrance.

The loft is a completely private structure and shares a yard with the main house. The loft is located behind the house, and there is a secure gate that you have to go through to get to the property.

Pets: we don't allow cats, only dogs. Sorry! We don't have an off-leash area on-site and ask that you keep your dog leashed, but there is an off-leash dog park one block away.

This one bedroom "granny" flat apartment is light, bright and recently renovated. It's a great place to relax and get cozy yet be close enough to experience all that Portland has to offer. If you enjoy the snow and want to ski, snowboard or snowshoe the mountain is within an hour of Portland. Even better, if you don't want to drive you can catch the shuttle bus from the near by transit center up to the resorts.

The space
This centrally located east-side apartment is close to many of the top attractions in Portland. Enjoy easy access to/from the airport, downtown, and popular neighborhoods such as Alberta, Mississippi, Hawthorne, and Montavilla etc…...

It is situated approximately a 10 min drive from the airport and about 10-15 min drive from the city center. It is easily accessible by the Tri-met transportation system. A light rail station is located within a reasonable walk or a short Uber/Lyft ride.

This bright and clean apartment has been recently updated with new finishes and has just over 500 square feet of living space with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The bright open kitchen and living space welcome you immediately once you step inside. The apartment offers a large bedroom with a queen bed, dresser and full size closet and full size pullout sofa bed in the living room. It is a warm and comfortable retreat for anyone looking to explore what Portland has to offer, avoid staying with family, and appeals to the business traveler who wants something more than a hotel.

The detached apartment is located in the quiet backyard behind the garage with a private entry. The kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to create a great meal or enjoy great take-out or even simply a nice glass of beer or wine. The bathroom has the basic toiletries to meet your needs including a hair dryer, towels and soaps/shampoos. There is a nice patio and plenty of yard to share and enjoy if your Portland experience hasn’t taken up all your energy.

It should be noted that at the apartment has been updated to have a ductless heat pump which provides efficient heating and cooling for the apartment. However, the main fan unit is located within the bedroom so for stays where guests will be utilizing the sofa sleeper and want to close the bedroom door the heating/ cooling could be impacted. Overall it should sufficiently heat or cool the unit with no issues. But to maximize efficiency and air flow it is best to keep that door open as much as possible.

5 year old detached guest house in Laurelhurst/North Tabor. Bright and spacious with vaulted cedar ceilings. Modern Industrial style with many eco-friendly features such as mini-split heat/ac, tankless water heater, and all-natural fiber area rugs and linens means fewer toxins and a low carbon footprint. Situated near Laurelhurst and Mount Tabor parks with restaurants and amenities nearby. We are also pet friendly and allow well-behaved dogs on leashes for a $30 fee per dog, per visit.

Our space is dog friendly, has a full kitchen and a washer and dryer for your convenience. It is heated and cooled by a mini split which offers comfortable consistent temperature control. Clean bedding, mattress, linens, etc. make for clean comfortable stay. We wash the duvet cover nightly! Some things we have added since the photos were taken - cordless top up/bottom down shades on all windows, black out curtains in the bedroom, a TV with roku and antennae for local channels and new artwork. *New fiber-optic high speed internet!*

You have your own house and yard and will access it from the street. There is free parking right in front or within a few feet. Please note -the driveway to the right of the cottage is for the owner's car only. Thank you!

We comply with all city regulations and are fully permitted. Ours is a newer construction built in 2018.

Upon special request we occasionally allow guests to stay longer than our 1 week limit. Due to the extra cleaning involved in longer-term stays (such as oven and refrigerator and accumulated dirt) we charge an additional cleaning fee of $30 per week after the first week and an additional pet fee of $20 per week. These are in addition to the original cleaning fee of $70 that is charged when you book.

These fees are due to the fact that after longer stays cleaning can take up to 4-6 hours. Thank you for understanding.

Also please note that we are a smoke-free property. There is no smoking or vaping of any substance inside or outside our unit. Violation of this will result in removal from the property.

It’s also equipped with a high speed Wi-Fi (50Mbps download and upload) that makes casting ultra-HD content on TV, logging in to work VPN, having video conference calls etc seamless. There is a cushy table and chairs which can be used for work as well as dining. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower combo, and a full-size washer/dryer for your laundry needs. The patio has adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy the serene setting amid big trees. Take an early morning or evening stroll through the neighborhood. Hillsboro 53rd Avenue Community Park and Hidden Creek Community center are located within couple of blocks from the studio. The Magic Barn is located 15 minutes to the Airport, 10 minutes to Downtown, 10 minutes to the Convention Center, and a short walk to the Hawthorne Theater. Rental bikes are within 3 blocks and there is ample free street parking.

Your host Todji is an artist, enjoy his sculptures & art collection. Todji personally restored the entire Magic House and Barn over 25 years. Most of the sculptures in the garden were sculpted right here, enjoy!

Hobie is your onsite host, a novelist and professional writer. He is available to assist during your stay, and to respect privacy.

This is not a real estate investor style rental unit. We are artists, we employ community artists, and we hope to offer an artistic cultural experience.

The kitchen has all the basics for cooking, with fridge/freezer, hot water heater, coffee and tea to get you going in the morning. New Season health food market is three blocks away, and Fred Meyer supermarket is 2 blocks away. Trinket breakfast cafe is one block away, turn right when walking out the driveway.

MAGIC STORY:

When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was a twisted old shed with broken windows, no electricity or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji transformed it into his sculpture studio, and then purchased the house in 2004 when banks were giving loans to anyone, including self-employed artists! Todji rented rooms to other artists while restoring the old house and building a career as a fine art sculptor between 2000 and 2017.

Todji designed and built the Magic Barn. The interior wood siding is salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. Look at the outside walls to see the twist in the structure!

Todji produces public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day. Enjoy the rotating sculpture collection! The sculptures travel to different exhibitions.

Patronage from guests such as yourself is part of what helps Todji continue to work as an artist, and for this he is deeply grateful!

We are very centrally located, and along with that convenience comes visible and audible street traffic, we are located off a fairly busy four lane street.

The Magic Barn is very well insulated, so it is sufficiently quiet for nearly all our guests. Previous guests have written in reviews that the Magic Barn is "quiet", "serene", and “tranquil".

The bathroom doors have decorative glass and there are two very high windows that are open to the main space. If you are visually and audibly very modest please take a look at the photos of the bathroom before booking.

Five Star Location: Because The Magic House is on a busy four lane street, our neighbors do not notice our guests coming and going. Neighbors were chronically disturbed by an Airbnb on a nearby, quiet residential street. Our guests can feel 100% welcome knowing that they are not disturbing our neighbors, and locally owned businesses appreciate your patronage, just as we do!

Please let us know in advance if you want us to prepare an additional floor air mattress for $40.

If you have booked for someone else, please inform us, and send us a photo of their ID through Airbnb messages. Please note that you are responsible for any damages by your guest.

Constructed in 2019, this 2 bedroom unit behind the main house is a completely separate and private space for you to use. Plenty of street parking and dedicated pathway to the unit. It has a full kitchen, living room, bathroom and one queen bedroom on the main floor and and separate queen bedroom on the 2nd floor. Settle down after a long day with your Netflix, get some work done on the fast WiFi, or head out to the local shops and restaurants.

It sleeps 4 adults comfortably. Each bedroom has a door for privacy (no loft!) and blackout blinds. Each room is equipped with their own efficient heating and cooling control, a combination of firm and soft pillows, and a Bluetooth enabled stereo/alarm clock.

Internet connected smart LG TV and Sonos sound system in the living room are ready for you. Disney+, Hulu and Spotify are available.

The kitchen is well equipped with the essential equipment and gadgets (including an option of French press or drip coffee.)

Should you not be in the mood to cook or make your own coffee, you're in luck. Within 1/2 a mile (all walking distance along neighborhood streets) you will find dozens of 4+ star Yelp restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

Guest access
This is a detached space with two bedrooms, full bath, kitchen and living room all dedicated for guests. Access is via a separate lit pathway along the driveway with privacy fence separating guests from the main house.

Other things to note
We're in a neighborhood, the space is well insulated from sounds and quiet but dogs do bark, kids play, and neighbors hang out.
