300 feet above the ocean on sacred Neahkahnie Mountain, 30 feet above the ground. Built by hand with love in 1985. Look out thru giant Sitka spruce and Douglas fir, south & west to the ocean. Look up from the sleeping loft through a huge skylight to the night stars and moon. Leave urban culture behind. Retreat into a world where the rest of nature speaks loudly. Neahkahnie means "place of the spirits." All are welcome to find true peace & magic here.
The space
Down the stone stairs from your 2 parking spaces you'll find a large open living area and fully outfitted kitchen. The bedroom & full bath are off that space. Up another flight of stairs is the open sleeping loft (with large skylight!) and a half bath. It's all handcrafted and beautifully designed by the owner architect.

You'll have the whole house!
Other things to note
This is a TV-free zone. A video/DVD player and wi-fi are available and a small video/dvd collection. There are games, puzzles & lots of cool books. There is no washer and dryer.
The beach is a 15 minute walk down the rural road, and a nice aerobic walk back up. the town of Manzanita is just down the road (a 30-45 minute walk). A short drive to Oswald West State Park, the trail up Neahkahnie Mountain, or Nehalem Bay State Park. Cannon Beach is 15 miles North.
