- "This property is a dream!" - "Stayed for new years and had a great stay! The facility is brand new with immaculate attention to detail and design. Property: Common rooms with kitchen amenities were great. The staff put out snacks for the evening (kettle corn and cookies) and set up a nice breakfast in the morning (ham, eggs, pastries, coffee, and fresh juice). The farm is beautiful and can see the cows and animals from property and rooms, also have walking trails. On clear days you can see my hood (we didn’t see as it was cloudy). Room: great space, pictures don’t do justice. Comfy beds (sheets could be a bit softer but we’re still nice). Tea and coffee were included as well as local snacks which was delicious. View from room is relaxing and gorgeous, little oasis bunker. Area. Carlton is a nearby by town with restaurants and bars (ate at earth and sea which was good). Also 15 from McMinnville, go check out the owners sister restaurant Humble Spirt which as fantastic. All in all a great stay and will return. "

This sweet little 1 bed, 1 bath cottage can be found in the center of Salem. Located in an alley behind the main house, it's completely separate with it's own private driveway and entrance. It's only a 5 minute drive to get to I-5, downtown, Willamette University, or the State Hospital and only a 15 minute drive to any other part of Salem or Keizer.

The space
The cottage is 430 sq ft with one bedroom, one bathroom, and a full sized and fully stocked kitchen. The bedroom has a queen Tempur-pedic bed, as well as a large dresser and a closet for clothing storage. The living room has a table for eating or working, a futon couch (that also folds flat into an additional sleeping surface if needed), smart tv, wifi, Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime, movies, games, books, Blutooth stereo, and frisbee discs to take to the nearby frisbee golf park, among other things, to make it your ideal home away from home.

The cottage is located on the same property as the main house but is completely separate. The entire cottage along with it's private driveway, and small yard are for the sole use of the cottage guests. The hosts are conveniently located next door should you need anything.

Other things to note
The bathtub/shower is raised. It may be difficult for people with mobility issues to access.

The cottage does not have its own address and therefore does not get mail delivered to it.

Our guesthouse is located at the back of our property, with a privacy fence separating it from our backyard. The guesthouse is accessed via a gravel driveway along the side of the house. There is plenty of parking directly next to the guesthouse.

Although the guesthouse is one level, you need to climb 4 stairs to enter the unit.

As you depart, we ask you to run the dishwasher and start the laundry (sheets, towels). This eliminates the need for our housecleaner to wait around just waiting for the dryer to finish and allows us to keep our cleaning fee low. No pets/animals. No smoking.

We welcome you to our rural retreat, surrounded by local wineries and farmland. This historic property was settled by the Williams family in the 1800s, and a WWII-era home and restored barn grace the property along with a greenhouse, extensive garden, fruit trees and hazelnut orchard.

Guests have their own updated private cottage detached from the main home, though we welcome you to share the deck and stroll around the yard and garden (though please check with us before harvesting). There are gravel parking spaces for your vehicle just outside the cottage, and we are happy to give you a quick tour of the barn should you be interested!

Our light-filled North-facing studio with large windows is a modern detached space that includes a comfy queen bed, wood stripped ceilings, hardwood floors, air conditioning, full bathroom, kitchenette, small sitting area and french doors that lead to the outdoor sitting area in our private backyard.

It’s a perfect studio size space that is well utilized. The kitchenette includes a small fridge, stone counters, stainless sink, toaster, coffee maker, coffee press, electric tea kettle and microwave. We will get you started with creamer, almond milk, yogurt and granola. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations.

Conveniences include a flat screen TV, stereo, wifi internet along with Salem/Portland maps and guides.

Our loft feels like home and an ideal retreat space after a long day.

Our Windmill guest house sits on our quiet 2 acre property just on the outskirts of South Salem. Our brand new 800 sq ft guest space is furnished and equipped with amenities to provide rest and relaxation. It is set up as a private 1 bedroom/1 bath, fully stocked kitchen. This unit is attached to our new shop but has its own private entry. You'll find we are a short drive to a multitude of attractions and activities. Enjoy local Willamette Valley wineries, parks, or head to the Oregon Coast.

The space
Our guest house is set up as a private 1 bedroom/1 bath studio with a Queen bed and a sofa sleeper (Sorry we cannot accommodate over 2 people) with the comforts of a home in mind. The guest house is attached to our new shop with its own private entry door. While you may see us out and about on our 2 acre property, we will respect your privacy while you stay with us. The guest house does have a private outdoor seating area, intended for your use only. Our home is at the top of the driveway.

The guest house sleeps up to two people, however, please note that we are not able to accommodate children. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a sofa sleeper in the living room. The bedroom has room darkening window coverings, but the living room & kitchen do not. The kitchen is stocked with basic kitchen gear if you feel like staying in, or you're just a short drive into town for a bite to eat. There is a full-sized washer and dryer (laundering supplies provided) in the guest house should you require it. The bathroom has a step-in shower. A ductless heating/air conditioning unit will keep you comfortable no matter the season. The bedroom has a cadet heater as well. We have a smart TV and Firestick in the living room, sorry no cable. You can log into your subscriptions, just be sure to log out when you check out.

Our guest house is for short term rentals. We do not rent long term.

We are a complete NO smoking property (applies to the guest house, outside the guest house and on the entire property). If you are a smoker, this is probably not the best for you. Guests may not bring animals onto the property or into the guest house. This creates problems with our own resident animals. Additionally, our guest house is kept animal-free so people with allergies can stay with us.

If you like to venture outside, we have some wonderful places to visit here in Oregon. There are many trails to hike in the area including Silver Falls State Park, walking paths at Minto Brown and the Downtown Waterfront. The famous Oregon Garden in just 45 mins East, or head West an hour and a half to the coast. There are multiple options for visiting vineyards, and wineries as well as Taphouses. You will find Willamette Valley Vineyard and Coria Winery just a short drive away.

On Site parking: As you arrive on our property, the shop is on your left. You may park in front of the shop all the way to the right as to not block the large shop doors. Walk along the right side of the shop to the private entrance of the guest house. Our home is at the top of the driveway.

There is a short to-do list upon check out. These are basic things like loading the dishwasher and starting it, along with making a pile of used towels in the laundry room. This list helps us get a jump start so we can focus on the deep cleaning of the guest house that will be taken care of in preparation for our next guests.

We absolutely expect our guests to read our house rules and abide by them. By reserving this listing you have indicated exactly this. We are responsible and respectful humans and feel you should be the same while here.

We offer a quiet, private and comfortable 600 sqft studio suite upstairs in a separate structure away from the main house. The studio includes dormers that overlook the family garden, goat barn, and pond. The east windows overlook our back yard, a lily pond and secluded spots to relax and enjoy.

On our 2.5 acre "farm" property we milk Alpine and La Mancha dairy goats. We have a steady clientele that purchases our raw goat milk, chèvre cheese, feta cheese, ricotta cheese, buttermilk, kefir, kefir yogurt, chocolate goat milk, and cajeta (a mexican caramel sauce).

We have a beautifully landscaped back yard with lots of places to walk, sit and talk, view our lily pond, or just relax in the shade of the oak and fir trees. In the afternoon and evening you may be able to hear the low droning of our American bullfrogs in the lily pond or catch a glimpse of a great heron or wild mallard ducks visiting our duck pond.

Other things to note
The farm can be a busy place starting early around 7am and going all day until 9pm at night. Goat milking starts at 7:30 am every morning and 6:00 pm every evening. Our farm store opens at 10:00 am and closes at 6:00 pm. Saturdays are busy getting ready for and participating in the local Silverton Farmers Market which goes from from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in summer months and 10:00 am to 12:30 pm in the winter months. However, do not be concerned about the hustle and bustle around here. Your studio apartment is well insulated from the noise and the commotion. And in the evening here it is very quiet and peaceful - a true country setting.

A private driveway leads you to a rustic patio with year-round outdoor seating, a hot tub, and a private entrance to your own apartment cottage. Upon arrival, access the apartment through a coded key box—be sure to read the instructions carefully.

Inside, you'll find a welcoming living space with a full kitchen, complete with a center island and barstools. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs, including outdoor cooking tools. A stocked coffee and tea bar awaits you, featuring a Nespresso machine and an automatic drip coffee maker.

The cozy living room offers a built-in desk and chair for working, along with comfortable leather furniture, a large marble coffee table, a direct-vent fireplace with a remote, and a large-screen TV with Dish Network. For entertainment, you'll find games, playing cards, puzzles, and books.

Next, enter the bedroom, where a king-size bed awaits, complete with a memory foam mattress topper, 100% cotton sheets, and a premium down comforter with a linen duvet. A futon sofa provides additional sleeping space upon request, with bedding of the same quality. The full bathroom is stocked with all the amenities you need, and if you happen to forget something, we’ve got you covered. A laundry/linen room with a washer and dryer is also available, along with a closet for your convenience.

The apartment and outdoor patio space are entirely private during your stay. You can also enjoy sitting on the floating dock, kayaking on the pond, or strolling through the hazelnut orchard.

The outdoor space includes comfortable seating around a fire pit, a dining area for al fresco meals, and propane cooking equipment for preparing outdoor dishes. You can also enjoy the floating dock on the pond, equipped with two kayaks and a canoe, offering a relaxing way to explore the water and take in the natural surroundings. The hazelnut farm offers a peaceful setting for exploration and relaxation. Whether you’re relaxing, cooking, or adventuring, this space has it all.

Our son, Josh, lives in the house attached to the rental and will be happy to assist with anything you may need during your stay. Alternatively, you can reach out to Rebecca or Michael, we are just a few minutes away if you require any help. We are committed to respecting your privacy and will ensure you have a peaceful and comfortable experience. The property is also connected to a home office and a working farm, so you may encounter other visitors in the space above or in the surrounding area from time to time. However, we strive to maintain a serene environment for all our guests.
