The space
Studio includes stove, fridge, microwave, Keurig and shower. Park at the end of driveway or on the street. Self check-in so late arrivals welcome! Check in time normally 5 pm but often flexible so just ask. Less than 1 mile from downtown including shops, restaurants, bars and Saturday morning market. Close to bus line. About 3/4 mile to Washington State Fairgrounds. 32" TV with streaming services (prime, HBO, Netflix) and wifi. Collection of books provided for rainy days. A few blocks from large park with trails and playground for the sunny days!

Welcome to Gilbert's Cottage! Be our guest for a night or stay longer if you want access to the greater PNW. Our home sits on an acre in the farmland of the Puyallup valley. Check out downtown Sumner or Puyallup main street for boutiques, cafés, pubs, and local breweries. Short drive to the waterfront, grocery stores, farm stands, Washington state fairgrounds or hospitals. Bring your pup to keep you company. Room to park a smaller trailer if needed.
The space
The cottage and the property are still a work in progress. It's designed for 2 people but can fit a 3rd if you are traveling with a child. We are currently not offering stays longer then 30 days.
The Cottage has a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster oven, small crockpot, and an electric skillet that will cook just about anything. There is a full fridge and freezer, hot water kettle for making tea and a Keurig with assorted coffee pods.
The Cottage has a queen size mattress with a thick comfy mattress cover. If you are traveling with a child, there is a fold up single bed in the closet. Super easy to set up. Let us know if you need a pack-and play.
The bedroom has a TV and DVD player with some movies to choose from. Children's books and games available on request.

The whole guest house. if your traveling with your pup we all that you walk them down the driveway and out into the front half of the property.

This special place is close to everything in the Puyallup / Sumner valley. Only 3 miles to the Western Washington Fairgrounds, 1/2 mile to Farm 12, and 2 miles to downtown Sumner making it easy to plan your visit. This 1 bed 1 bath guest house sits behind the "main" house on its own separate and private fenced lot, up above a storage garage. (Please note that there are stairs up into unit. )

The Studio is in the rear of the property, and connected to the detached garage, separate from the main house. Open and airy studio. Fully equipped kitchen. Full sized fridge, gas range, microwave, dishwasher. Washer and dryer in unit.
Guest access
Guests have parking for one car in the driveway, directly next to the unit. Lvl 2 Electric Vehicle charging available for Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles. Keypad entry. Private, fully fenced backyard with a fire pit! We ask guests to please keep pets on leash when not in the fenced area, or in the unit.
Other things to note
We are near the Puyallup Station. We have provided a sound machine for you, but you will hear a train from time to time.

The space
This big city style loft apartment features a glass garage door that opens up to a beautiful yard where you are sure to find a way to relax… soak in the hot tub, sip on a drink fireside in the tiki hut, play in the grass, or chill on the patio! Tell Alexa to play your favorite music almost anywhere you are on the property. The bed is in a loft space with tiny home style stairs and a low (5’) ceiling (please be sure you are comfortable with climbing steep steps as this is the access to the loft space and queen bed, it is not an ada accessible sleeping space). This spacious small space features 12ft ceilings in the living area and big windows making it bright and open, but don’t worry, blackout shades will give you privacy and tranquility to sleep in if you desire.

All outdoor areas on the property are shared. The tiki hut/fireplace and the hot tub are not close in proximity so guests can enjoy them separately. My family lives on the property, so you may see children in the yard. We are very respectful of guests and try to accommodate any request.
