'At the last minute I decided to forgo staying at a hotel and my daughter found this lovely back of house apartment in the beautiful Sellwood neighborhood. It was perfect. Brand new accommodations in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood where you could walk down the block and enjoy friendly crowd-filled coffee houses, antique stores, restaurants or discover that special organic-find at the local market. The apartment itself was doll-like, very clean (which I am fastidious about!) and could easily have been a model for a pottery barn ad. Perfect in every way. It was filled with everything you would need from coffee pots to silver ware should you chose to eat in. Lots of windows-making my morning coffee (provided by Traci of course) I could open the kitchen window and treat myself to fresh air to start my day. One unique and surprise feature was the heater nestled in the bathroom-a nicety you don't see very often and the bedroom was perfect-large, spacious closets and very comfy. The living room had a fireplace that was both warm and completed the feel of the apartment even if you did have to turn it on with a clicker. I highly recommend staying at this perfect rental and do so for a longer stay-I had only two nights and could have easily stayed for a week! Traci thought of everything and even provided us with a list of places to go and eat in her cardboard binder-she was a splendid host. I give it five stars!'

This quaint 1 bedroom furnished apt. is located downstairs in our historic brick English tudor home. You have a separate key, private entrance, and courtyard. The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. We also use very careful required sanitation procedures between guests!
Our home is located Laurelhurst, a registered historic district. Laurelhurst is one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities. We are located on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a several bus lines and 5 blocks from the MAX (light rail train) The MAX can take downtown in the matter of minutes . It is also within walking distance of favorite east side shopping and dining areas, including Hawthorne, Belmont and 28th street.
When you enter this charming mid-century decorated apartment you will immediately feel at home! You will find a comfortable queen sized bed, overstuffed chair and desk with mesh internet service. Good size TV Roku access, DVD player(some DVD's available) in the bedroom. The nicely tiled bathroom has a tub and shower. Although there is not a separate "living room" you will find the apartment very cosy and comfortable. You will have exclusive use of the entire 1st floor, a generously sized apartment with separate entrances and complete privacy. The front porch is shared, but the porch furniture is for your exclusive use. While visitors are welcome, please note there is a 9-person maximum on the property. To discuss exceptions, please contact us in advance.

A smart lock keypad allows for convenient self check-in upon arrival. Check-in time is anytime after 3:00 pm, and check-out time is 11:00 am on the day of your departure. Our cleaning schedule is tight, and the hours between check-out and check-in are necessary in order to thoroughly clean between guests.

Additional Guest Fee: Please note that there is a $20 nightly fee per guest after the first two guests.

Parking:
Free parking is available on the street in front of the house. There is a 2-car limit for guests staying the night.

Respect for Neighbors:
The William Waters House is on a quiet residential street and we have amazing neighbors on all sides. We strive to maintain positive relations with them, so for this reason we ask that you respect house rules around the 9-person maximum, noise level and parking.

Interaction with Guests:
We enjoy meeting guests upon your request but also understand and respect your privacy. We are usually nearby, and always available by text or phone to address any needs you have.

Other things to note:
The apartment is the entire first level of a 3-story historic home and the upper levels of the home are separate living quarters that we live in. While generally very quiet, there is some minimal sound transference. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 7am. Again, parties are strictly prohibited.

Security Camera:
There is a motion-activated security camera on the front porch directed toward the sidewalk which can record audio/visual. The field of view is limited to a small section of the front porch and out toward the street.

Our location provides the best of both worlds. We are uniquely situated very close to downtown and hip east side neighborhoods, while also being tucked away on a quiet residential street next to a park. Our neighborhood, Irvington, is an upscale, historic, architecturally splendid area, great for quiet walks or for getting downtown in a heartbeat.

I did not expect temperatures in Oregon to be in the high 90s for our July visit...and was I ever relieved to open the door to our hideaway and be greeted by cold air. The space

Hi! Welcome to Clinton Street, our colorful little space tucked away on one of Portland’s favorite streets. We’re located within walking distance of so many Portland landmarks, including SE Division Street (home to some of the city’s best restaurants and bakeries) and SE Hawthorne Street (filled with vintage shops, coffee shops, and Powell’s Books East). We’re on a side street that is considered a Greenway, meaning that the only cars allowed to use the street belong to the people who live here. Otherwise Clinton is considered a bike street, so it’s super safe! We can’t wait to share our neighborhood with you!

We are striving to be a family friendly rental - we ourselves have a young child, and know how stressful it can be to travel with children. We want to do whatever we can to make it easier, whether that’s providing you with a pack-and-play or even just a pack of wipes. Know that we love kids, and have lots of fun activities and amenities designed just for their entertainment, and to give their parents a break from the constant need to entertain. If there’s anything you need, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

You’ll enter your space through a private entrance with keyless entry. The space is a private 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom suite complete with a Living Area with a sleeper sofa (full-size that can sleep 1-2 smaller people), TV, Desk. convenient kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, coffee station (including brewed coffee machine, Nespresso machine, and a complimentary bag of local coffee), electric kettle and local tea, and dish ware/silverware.

The bedroom is furnished with a plush queen bed, lux linens, a large closet and a small desk, just in case you had to bring your work with you.

The shower-only bathroom has been supplied with:

Hosting guests, however, who have not made the reservation itself carries additional risk and hosting challenges. As such, in our desire to support our local employers we have recently developed and released this 3rd Party Booking Policy.

5. At Creekside Cottage, use the signed pup relief area instead of the front lawn.
6. Expect friendly barn cats and free-range bunnies outdoors—if your pet chases or reacts strongly, this may not be the best fit.

The Magic House is located in the peaceful Richmond district of Southeast Portland. It is lovely to walk through the neighborhood to nearby SE Hawthorne or Division streets. There are restaurants and rental bikes within 3 blocks , and lots of free street parking on our block.

Your room is the Magic Mustard Room. There is a very small kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, located in the adjacent bedroom, and no TV. There is a hot water heater, coffee and tea in your room to get you going in the morning. There is a breakfast cafe one block away.

A second bedroom is available for groups of more than two people for additional cost. Please request the extra room so we can know to prepare it.

Please enter the correct number of guests and Airbnb will add an extra guest fee after the first two guests. Prices below.

Hobie is your onsite co-host and can assist if you need anything during your stay.

When required by law, or at your personal discretion, please wear a mask while entering and exiting.

The colors are bright, the stairs are creaky, the floors are worn and full of stories since 1909! Most of the sculptures were sculpted right here between 2000 and 2017 by your host Todji. The Magic House has been a cultural hub for artists and musicians since 1990!

The Magic House was Todji's sculpture studio for 17 years. We hope you enjoy it's unique character, up-cycled furnishings, and artistry! Enjoy!

Hobie is a novelist and professional writer. We support the local art community by giving work at the Magic House to community artists.

We operate with a short term rental permit issued by the city or Portland. The city has conducted a safety inspection of the entire premises.

We use natural cleaning products, some of them are scented.

You are welcome to responsibly smoke legal substances outside. Please keep smoking materials in sealed containers when inside. There are many dispensaries within walking distance.

Todji did the restoration work on this vintage home over 25 years, while renting rooms to other artists and building a career in fine art sculpture, and producing public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities.

Hopefully you have seen some, or will see them one day!

Driveway parking is available on a first come first serve basis for $25.

The Magic House is very centrally located, and along with that convenience comes visual and audible street traffic. We are off of a fairly busy four lane street.

The Magic Mustard Room on the Magic 2nd Floor, is away from the street, and is the most quiet room in The Magic House.

We are in the heart of a very cool urban district that we consider safe. Walking through the neighborhood is very charming.

The Magic House was built in 1909 and restored personally by your host Todji. The stairs are creaky, and the floors are worn and full of stories.

This is a subdivided home and you likely will hear guests in the other units. Please be advised that voices carry between the Magic Attic and The Magic Second Floor.

A majority of our guests have enjoyed comfortable stays, but some of our guests have not preferred the busy street, or hearing other guests.

Five star location: Because The Magic House is on a busy street, our neighbors do not notice our guests coming and going. Nearby short term rental houses on the quiet residential streets have chronically disturbed neighbors. Our guests can feel 100% welcome knowing that they are not disturbing our neighbors, and locally owned businesses appreciate your patronage, just as we do! Thank you for respecting our neighbors and Hobie by honoring quiet time from 10PM to 9 AM by city law.

If you have booked for someone else, please inform us, and send us a photo of their ID through Airbnb messages. Please note that you are responsible for any damages by your guest.

Todji rented rooms to artists for seventeen years while restoring The Magic House and building a career in fine art sculpture. The sculpture collection in the house rotates to different exhibitions.

- You may eat the ramen packets I have left out for you if you're looking for a quick bite.
- All the coffee and tea are available to you.

You will likely find me available most of the time, as I am usually working from home after I am home from my other job. During the weekends I will usually be working on some project, or maybe go out for an adventure.

Our quaint studio, located in N. Portland welcomes you with everything you need to have a classic PDX vacay.
A private entrance, as well as transit access to explore PDX (bus stop just outside your private gate), 4 full service markets (1 organic), trendy St. Johns, and quick access to downtown PDX via the St. Johns Bridge. The space is comfortable, squeaky clean, fast WiFi, private laundry, smart TV, along with many other amenities. Space for two, solo and business travelers.

The space
Welcome to St Johns Urban Studio...a fully furnished private space with all the comforts of home. It's small--about 320 sf--but cozy, inviting, with everything needed for stays of any length. It offers a kitchenette, complete with a single burner, electric skillet, steamer/rice cooker, toaster, microwave, kettle and coffee maker. There is a smart ROKU TV as well as a digital antenna that pics up about 30 channels. Free fast Wi-Fi is also provided. There is a comfortable set of QUEEN BUNKS, not safe for children under 10. There height of the upper bunk poses a safety hazard. Within the full bath there is a washer/dryer unit (Included if staying 4 nights or longer. $15 for 3 or fewer nights) for your convenience.

I am unable to accept pets or service animals as it poses a risk to the health and safety of my daughter who lives with me. I have also complied with Airbnb’s pet/service animal exemption process. Thank you for understanding.

There is enough coffee/tea/snacks, toilet tissue (4 rolls), shower gels and a small amount of laundry detergent (3-4 loads) to get you started and for your convenience. You have full private access to the space and the private outdoor micro patio inside the gate where you can RESPONSIBLY smoke anything legal (420 friendly) for the over-21s. My space is not a "Flop and Bake" place. Indulging a bit for relaxing (as with a cocktail) after a full day of hiking or site seeing is all good.
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING, VAPING OR OPEN FLAME INSIDE THE SPACE. Thank you! :)

I have also at times, accommodated 3-4 guests. DO NOT show up with more than 2 guests expecting to stay- Have the courtesy to ask and I will try to accommodate for a $fee)

You will have your private entrance at 514 NE 28th Avenue, up the stairs there is communal sofa area and your own private apt door entrance. You can enjoy our outdoor patio too!

The space
I have a lovely basement studio apartment in my house. It's newly remodeled and very private. You'll have the place to yourself, but if you need anything, I live upstairs! 2 night minimum stay for weekends.

The apartment is comfortable and cozy. The bed is full/double size fold-out futon, small dining table, TV w/basic cable, Wi-Fi, FM/AM alarm clock radio and a desk.

The kitchen has a cook-top, microwave, refrigerator, & coffee maker.

Bathroom has a single stall shower (no bathtub). All sheets, towels, paper supplies for kitchen and bath supplied, as well as towels and bed linens.

(Please note: the form I filled out in order to list this requires "number of bedrooms", so I enter "1". It is really one area divided into various spaces. There is also an free standing closet/storage unit.

Our neighborhood is located in the Humboldt/Mississippi district of Portland and is a short walk and known for it's food carts, live music, pubs, coffee shops, Portland Rose Garden and Portland's best restaurants.

The public transportation is a bus system and the yellow line MAX station. There are two bus lines that come close to my house.

This studio apartment stands where our garage used to be and is completely separate from our home, but there is one shared wall. The skylights offer neighborhood and sunrise views, plus lots of bright natural light.

The space
This sweet studio apartment is full of my art and home decor prototypes. There is lots of bright, natural light in the space, which really helps keep all the plants in the apartment happy, but is also great for visiting artists, or anyone looking for a space to retreat and relax.

The floor plan is open, meaning the bedroom flows into the kitchen area. There is a loft that's accessible by a ship's ladder . While they look like stairs, it should be treated as a ladder (come down backwards). The loft can be used as a reading nook, or to stretch or do yoga. It's full of plants, a comfy chair, small sofa, dresser, nightstand, rug and reading light.

The kitchen has an oven and small fridge, so you can store and cook meals for yourself. Full bath with a standing shower (no tub).

We are coffee enthusiasts, and will supply fresh beans from our favorite coffee roasters, if you're a coffee drinker too, just let us know. There is a coffee grinder and Chemex style coffee maker, plus all the basic kitchen needs.

For everyone’s comfort, quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. Please make sure both locks on the front door are secured at all times. Kindly lock the door behind you when entering or exiting to ensure your safety and the safety of other guests.
