The property is amazing, lush and green with lavender bushes. *Starlink internet, while very high speed (200-300 Mbps download and 50-100 Mbps upload) and generally reliable, can have outages due to heavy weather or other technical issues. Please be aware that, at the time of writing this guide, Starlink is still a new and developing technology and may not be as reliable as fiber or cable. It is constantly improving and we experience many weeks on end with no issues and some of the highest internet speeds available on the market, however, we wanted to provide you with accurate information and encourage you to do your own research on Starlink's performance. We do not offer refunds for any unintended internet issues you may experience. We do, however, have Ziply Internet back-up (about 20Mbps download) and a land line telephone with free long distance calling available for your use in the case of any outages or technical issues.

- "Timber Moon Getaway was just the relaxing time I was looking for. The house is beautiful. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There was a spice drawer and a cupboard with miscellaneous oils and vinegars. Even had oatmeal and waffle mix. The sound in the house travels though due to open concept, so not a lot of privacy. I could hear the family members up stairs pretty well. The only thing I would of liked was a TV downstairs. The check in was so easy. They have tutorials on everything you need to know. One more thing, the river is not as close as I thought either. Despite those things I mentioned I would definitely stay there again. Amazing time"

he greatroomis dominated by a gas stone fireplace, with antique casement windows overlook the wraparound porch. The nook is a quiet, serene spot for reading or sleeping, and the kitchen is completely furnished to accommodate serious cooks, as well as those seeking a vacation from cooking.

In the well-stocked kitchen you'll find a programmable drip coffee maker, coffee filters, coffee grinder, a French Press, a Keurig, microwave, toaster oven, electric water kettle, placemats, cloth napkins, tea towels and a British hotel teapot with a copper cozy. Eva's Cottage sits just a few steps from our sandy beach, down a sloping path. It is an idyllic location with many eagles, heron, hawks, and deer, a large 20' deep swimming hole and year-round waterfall. The land surrounding the Cottage and across the river is private and protected. The temperate climate is never too hot or too cold. [Note: beach is shared by residents of nearby home, but they are quiet and respectful of our guests. Please note also that beach fires and fishing from the beach are not allowed (there is great fishing just 1/2 mile downriver, on the other side of the Salmon Falls bridge).]

This 28.5 acre retreat includes a large and rare stand of old-growth Douglas fir, Western cedar, hemlock and maple; some of which are estimated to be more than 300 years old. Eva's descendants steward the land and maintain the forest with an eye to future generations' enjoyment. You'll have access to four trails along the property, so be sure to bring your hiking boots!

A good supermarket, drugstore, and other services are about 14 miles away in the town of Washougal. The location provides easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and more. The Washougal is one of only two completely unpolluted rivers in the region. It offers fine fishing, whitewater rafting, canoeing and kayaking as it flows into the mighty Columbia River just a few miles to the south. All manner of outdoor activities are close by, yet the setting itself is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life.

- "We enjoyed a 4 day birthday weekend at this lovely cottage. It was exactly as described. We felt welcome right away with fresh flowers, wine and breakfast fixings there to greet us. We enjoyed hiking the nearby trails w/ our dogs and relaxing evenings by the big stone fireplace playing backgammon, a game we used to play before kids. Now, with an empty nest the cottage afforded us the opportunity to just be a twosome again. We are looking forward to our next visit. The lodge is built into the side of a hill, so you'll enter on the upper level, through the carport (that has room for two vehicles). Upon entering, make sure to slip off your shoes as this is a tread-free home. Plus, it’s more relaxing!

Gather on the deck to check in with your friends as the sun sets. Late at night, why not zone out in the media room, with its chaise and 60-inch plasma TV with Blu-ray and streaming Netflix? The chaise sofa also converts into a queen-size bed for those sleeping in this room.

You may prefer to sit quietly by the tall native rock, wood-burning fireplace and gaze out at the panoramic of the waterfall and Washougal River. This vista will surely lure you outdoors, where there’s croquet, a horseshoe pit, and even whitewater rafting and tubing nearby.

- "Better than pictures" - "We flew into Portland, rented a car & stayed four nights. The scenery and cabin were both gorgeous! We could have happily just stayed at the cabin the entire time. The only drawback for us is that we arrived in Portland separately so there were a couple of 2:00 a.m. trips to the airport. Due to the narrow, curvy roads & rainy conditions the trip took closer to 40 minutes each time. Our party of five was impressed with the cabin's features. The stone fireplace is stunning! As I said before we would have had a fire, but didn't get the message to the correct number. There is no cell phone coverage, but we were able to communicate using Wi-Fi & Apps to stay in contact with other local family. There is also a landline in the cabin. "

For a small pet fee of $50 (for up to two dogs), your four-legged companions can join in the fun and relaxation of your countryside getaway. While the yard is not fenced, we kindly ask you to keep in mind that wildlife may also be present, ensuring a safe and enjoyable stay for all.
Please note that there are steps up into the cottage as well as between the porch and the deck.
Outdoor security cameras are installed on the property.

Throughout the year, we rotate the alpacas and sheep to assist with grass mowing. They might be in a designated enclosure on the cottage property during your visit. The owners and farmhands will care for the animals and will have access to this area.

During the summer months, there may be a burn ban in effect.

Nestled on the banks just above the North Fork of the Washougal River, this wonderful retreat is the perfect place to get away from it all. The surrounding beauty and tranquil sounds are something to experience any time of the year.

Upon arriving you are greeted with a long circular driveway leading to the cabin make it perfect for multiple cars even if towing a trailer or boat. The front deck offers some comfy casual seating with one of the two fire-tables available for your enjoyment.

As you enter through the front door, you are immediately ensconced in a cabin feel that radiates warmth and comfort. The open floor plan combines the living, dining, and kitchen layout creating a fantastic space for your small group or family to enjoy and make memories together. Every piece of the décor and furnishing was curated to help create that perfect blend of cabin style and comfort. The kitchen is fully equipped for any of your culinary desires. Also tucked away in the corner is a wood burning stove. If you are travelling with kiddos do be careful as it does get incredibly warm when in use.

One of the best amenities has to be the backyard deck. It extends out and practically hangs over the river below. You can hear the water rush across and around the rocks and fallen trees which makes for the perfect backdrop to take in all the other sights and sounds of the forests beyond. The round fire-table makes for a great spot to consume any of your grilling creations from the nearby BBQ as well.

Ascending upstairs, you'll find the two bedrooms. One is a traditional style bedroom with a king bed. Just off one side there is a small deck with seating room for two. The other bedroom has a twin over twin bunk bed and a small half bath attached to it.

There is little doubt The North Fork Retreat will be a wonderful location for you to stay while enjoying all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.

You'll have a great time at this secluded riverfront property in the Yacolt Burn State Forest, perfect for family vacations, romantic getaways, a workation, or weekend with the guys/gals!

Riverscape is located on 0.67 acres, set far back from the road and next to the Washougal River. Beautiful Dougan Falls, Naked Falls and Reeder Falls are a few minutes drive away!

The wrap-around deck provides a covered area for outdoor dining (propane BBQ grill provided) and a sitting area which includes a propane gas fire pit table and propane outdoor heater.

Relax under the stars in the 6-person hot tub that overlooks the Washougal River.

A circular stone fire pit is located on the property, perfect for toasting marshmallows or hot dogs. Roasting sticks and wood are provided.

Enjoy watching a variety of birds that frequent the trees and hanging birdfeeders placed around the home. We even have 3 bald eagles that often make appearances!

AMENITIES:

Starlink high-speed internet available throughout the property via a mesh Wi-Fi network.

There is a computer work station equipped with two 27-inch monitors, a choice of two HP docking stations, keyboard and a mouse with wrist pad.

Each bedroom has a television with Roku streaming services. Sign-in with your personal account to watch Netflix, Prime, Disney+, etc.

Each bedroom has an AC unit, during the summer months.

Every bed is prepared with luxury 800 thread count cotton sateen sheet sets, 100% Natural Talalay Latex pillows (hypoallergenic even for guests with a latex allergy!) and down-alternative duvets.

Landline telephone available for domestic and emergency calls. Cell phones work using Wi-Fi calling (Verizon is the only network I have seen that has been able to make and receive phone calls on the property using cellular data).

DOG OWNERS (2 max):

Dogs are absolutely welcome at Riverscape! The lot is fully fenced; bed, treats and waste bags are provided. The pet fee is $75 for up to a 7-day stay. Since VRBO does not yet provide variable fee settings, the fee will will be manually adjusted up to an amount of $300, for 29 day stay. *NOTE* Pets must not be left alone in the house for any amount of time during your stay.

There is no fee for service animals; documentation must be provided to the host upon booking. Emotional support animals do not qualify for a fee waiver.

RIVER ACCESS: There is no river access at this property, but Dougan Falls and Naked Falls are just up the road and have delightful swimming holes.

FISHING: There is no fishing from the property as it is one mile upriver from the hatchery, which is a designated spawning area. Fishing is allowed downriver from the hatchery with the appropriate license.

Riverscape is accessible by car, located about an hour's drive from Portland/Vancouver. Parking is on site for up to 4 vehicles, including a designated spot for Level 1 EV charging.

Washougal and Camas are a 30 minute drive each way, so it is highly recommended to do grocery shopping for your stay before you get to the house. There is a local general store, Washougal River Mercantile, located 7 miles from the house for anything you forget. They also have a surprisingly good wine section!

HOUSE RULES:

-A house manual will be available in the property.

- No smoking, vaping or drug use of any kind is allowed anywhere on the property. A violation shall be fined $250.

-Parties are not allowed. Everyone in your group (max 8) must be accounted for in your reservation, including pets (max 2 dogs). Any noise or disturbance complaints from the neighbors will result in a $500 fine.

-It is understood and agreed that the owner of the property will not be liable for any damages or injury to guests or other occupants and their property from whatever cause arising from the occupancy of the property, including the use of on property amenities.

-The property is pet friendly, however, pets are not allowed on the furniture. All pets must be accounted for in your reservation. Pet waste must be collected and disposed of.

-If there is any damage to the property, furniture or any items on the property, a repair, replacement or special cleaning fee will be charged accordingly.

-HOT TUB: Please shower before entering. Do not use bubble bath, oils or salts in the hot tub.

-We are on a septic system, so please do not put anything other than toilet paper into the toilets.

-We do have recording RING security cameras on the premises. They will be used during the check-in and check-out periods. These must not be covered or otherwise tampered with.

-Allow the host to address concerns during your stay. Contact the host immediately if there is any problem or dissatisfaction.

-Campfires are allowed in the designated fire pit only when permitted by law. No fires during burning bans. No bonfires are allowed.

-For your safety, there is no river access at this time. Please do not climb over or otherwise try to bypass gates to access the river.

ANY violation of a house rule will be subject to immediate cancellation of your reservation - without refund.

Getting Around:
Parking at the property is easy and guests can park up to 4 cars for free at the front of the property. It is not an easy area to get Ubers or Lyfts so we recommend having a car if you are going to be staying here. Must have 4x4 or AWD vehicles to access the private road to the house. Only vehicles shorter than 10’9” and smaller than 12’0” wide will fit in through our gate.

Walking down the path from the parking area you will see the confluence of Canyon Creek and the Washougal River and cabin nestled amongst cedar trees where you will be staying. The cabin was originally built in the 1920's as a vacation home for a predominate Portland Judge. A century later and the spirit of this escape is alive and well with a full remodel providing modern amenities in a beautiful and rustic setting.

It is a houseboat on the Columbia River with a wonderful view of Mt Hood on a sunny day. 25 minutes away.

One of my favorite hikes on this side is only 20 minutes away and it's called Rodney Falls. You get to the falls after hiking 1.4 miles. If you're very adventurous you can go to the top of the mountain which is called Hamilton Mountain.

It is the Old Historic Hiway that meanders along the Columbia River in the most beautiful part of the Gorge. No vehicles allowed. ( You can rent bicycles in Hood River and they will direct you to the Mark Hatfield Trailhead.

Waterfall (URL HIDDEN) Oregon..35 minutes away
After you cross the Bridge of the Gods... go west on 84.
If you want to go to Wachella Falls take exit 40… It'll say fish hatchery.
You will see signs to park.

Take Exit 35 to get to WATERFALL ALLEY
It is called the Old Historic Highway.
Horse Tail Falls is wonderful because you don't have to hike it is just right there. A little further down historic highway… Is Onie onto Falls that you also might enjoy getting out and taking a picture there. I'm not too familiar with that one though. Going on down waterfall Allie the next stop will be Multnomah Falls... It is even a beautiful view just to walk up the first few flight of stairs and take a picture by the Rock wall. If you go little further you will get to the bridge and that is always a wonderful picture.

Other trails such as Triple Falls, Angel and Devil's Rest.

Wakeena falls is the next Falls to explore and see going west on the historic highway. You can hike up Wakeena Falls and hike over to the top of Multnomah Falls to hike down it. It is my favorite one to hike.

If you continue to go west you will get to the little town called Bridal veil. Many couples mail their invitations from this small little town. Going west on 84 is another way to get into Portland if you decide to hike first and then go to Portland.

There is a variety activities for you to do here you can either go into Portland which is 40 minutes away or you can go the other direction and go on many hikes in the Columbia Gorge. Rivers Rest is only five minutes from the Columbia Gorge. We do have a notebook full of activities and ideas for guests and will help you get to the specific destination you desire.

Very relaxing place to stay in a beautiful setting with many setting areas. Dogs are allowed, leashed and either kept in carrier when gone or taken with you. The Gorge Onsen is a tastefully renovated 1940’s craftsman bungalow and spa in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. 30 minutes from PDX, this gated property features two saunas, a spring-fed, chemical-free cedar hot tub, cold plunge, outdoor shower, tea & yoga room, 2 dedicated workspaces, a kitchen and downstairs kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, fast wifi, 2 TV’s & extensive VHS collection. Views of Multnomah Falls and upstairs bedroom and breakfast nook. Ashiatsu massage and organic facials bookable by request.

The Gorge Onsen is located just off the Columbia River on a small neighborhood road.

At the heart of our space are wellness facilities including a tea room, yoga room/treatment room with a two person infarred sauna. yoga mats, bolster, straps and blocks are provided for guests to use.

Just outside is a spring fed, chemical-free, deep cedar barrel hot tub set to 103F and an adjacent claw foot cold plunge. Steps away is an outdoor shower and 6 person wood fired sauna house.

The yard features a menagerie of edible plants- fruit trees, blueberry bushes, grape vines and a large organic garden during summer months.

The acre lot features multiple hang zones with a solarium tea room, yoga room, 2 fire pits and hammock zones.

The inside is clean and welcoming with lots of natural light and quality appliances.

Between a stand of fir trees and the Columbia River are train tracks. Trains run approximately every hour and are faintly audible inside the house.

There are friendly neighbors to the East who are mostly blocked from sight by a wood fence. Road and all other sides are private.

- "Loved the fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers - and the sake was a nice touch! Good location to visit the Columbia River Gorge, Portland, Mount Hood, Willamette Valley and the Oregon Coast. Oh, and stargazing was awesome!" - "Our group really enjoyed our stay at The Gorge Onsen. We took advantage of all the amenities on the property besides the fire pit. The house has a very cozy, quiet and peaceful feel to it. We were gone most of the day exploring the sites of the Gorge (and Portland) but we could've just as easily stayed at the house all day and enjoyed the propery. We were there for three nights but wish we would've stayed for at least five. Looking forward to returning one day! We visited in July but seems like a great year-around destination."

Nestled in the country on 2 acres, you will find a detached, newly remodeled 1200sq ft 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, open concept living room, dining area and kitchen mother-in-law suite. The crash Pad includes 1 king bed, 1 twin pull out couch, and 1 twin air mattress. Full kitchen, vaulted ceilings, natural light with private driveway and parking. The Crash Pad is one level with wide entrance and wide doorways throughout. With your own Roku, Hulu, and Netflix account, you can enjoy tv entertainment by your design

This is a heavily residential neighborhood. Very close to downtown and the Washougal Waterfront.

Please pull in the gravel driveway alongside the house and the gravel parking area is yours, along with full access to the fenced in front patio area and the entirety of the Guest House unit.

Large living space with large sleeper sofa, small 2-seater dining space, large bathroom with modern large shower. The kitchen features lots of counter space with large appliances, full size for this space. Ample kitchen supplies to stay in and cook!

Ample for personal vehicle, Uber and Lyft, not public transportation.

This space is a guest house behind another property, that is being lived in full time. Please understand there may be standard noise traveling via the back yard, but there is a privacy fence as well!
Parking is ample and 2 vehicles can fit easily.

The home may include a decibel monitoring sensor to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. NoiseAware is a smart home device that measures decibel levels throughout the property. It allows us to respond to noise nuisances without disrupting your stay. Tampering is prohibited.

As far as scenery goes, the drive to the property is absolutely gorgeous and there is plenty of nearby outdoor activities to take advantage of while staying In the gorge .

The inspiring lodge was built in 1950 and has just come through a comprehensive renovation while maintaining the style and charm that take guests back to that time frame. The 200 acre property is located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Skamania County Washington—and is about one hour from the Portland International airport. A mountain river runs through the property with two waterfalls visible from the lodge. The lodge sleeps 8 guests in the standard bedrooms with options for more guests. The property is near many outdoor activities. Stores and restaurants are about 25 minutes away. - "We stayed at Kanati Ranch for 5 nights and hosted an outdoor event on the grounds. Simply put, this place is a beautiful place for an event and a lovely place to vacation. The hosts were a delight to work with, both while we were planning our event and during our stay. Mark even built us the most amazing fire in their epic firepit. They love this property and genuinely want others to get to enjoy it. It is hard to overstate the beauty of this property. Waterfall views from inside and outside the house. Stunning grounds with flowers, lawns...beauty everywhere. The lighting is magical. The river access is amazing. If you want to be near nature, but want a very comfy stay, this is the place for you! The house is very comfortable and has everything you need. Beds were great (I'm picky about mattresses) and there's a great selection of pillows to find your perfect one. The living room couch is so comfy. The kitchen is super well equipped (we cooked for a party of 50 with no trouble) and there are two standard sized refrigerators, plus a small fridge as well. As an outdoor event space, this place is amazing. The house would be great for a smaller indoor event, but we had lots of people, so kept it outside. There are so many amazing places to enjoy on the property...something for everyone. The hosts provided us tables and chairs, which was so great. No one wanted to leave our event and our family didn't want to leave when our stay was over. We hope to return!"

River view cabin is like being in a National park. The cabin is private, this is not a shared property. You have the whole 3 acres. During salmon season you can sit in the hot tub and watch the eagles right from the deck catching fish out of the river. It is quite spectacular. You can also see many deer, beavers, and other animals from the deck. This property has a gorgeous river view. There is access to the river but it’s a steep ladder for adventurous adults. There are also many great spots to access the river up and down Washougal river rd. There are more great places to swim and hike just up the road across from the fish hatchery or Dougan falls.
The space
The downstairs has 1 bedroom with a king bed and 1 bathroom. The living room has a sleeper sofa. The two other bedrooms are upstairs which is accessed by more of a ladder than a staircase making the upstairs not a good option for elderly or people who don’t climb ladders. There is a spectacular view of the river from this property although it is 25-35 feet high without guard rails making this cabin not a good option for very small children.
Other things to note
There is 1 bedroom downstairs with a king bed. The couch in the living room also opens to a bed. The upstairs has a queen bed and a twin. The water is well water. It is filtered and has a softener, but is to salty for drinking. Their is plenty of bottled water for drinking and cooking. The well water is fine for showering. Their is also a reverse osmosis tap at the kitchen sink that is also fine for cooking. Even though the property is a bit remote, we do have neighbors, but at a distance. Their are no houses across the river. The cabin is great for relaxing and enjoying the forest and scenery. Their are many hikes and places to swim a short drive from the cabin. There is also a great Mercantile store for groceries, deli food, hot food options and take home bake pizzas about 3 min from the cabin. The cabin has been recently renovated so everything is fairly new. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 1000 square feet, with a full kitchen. For A/C and heat, we have a new HVAC, a fire stove and a washer and dryer. When it snows in Washougal the driveway may be difficult to exit as it has an incline. If there is a lot of snow and you don’t have chains I would suggest parking at the top of the driveway and walking down to the cabin, so you can exit without driving up the incline.

This was the perfect place to stay. Very conveniently located, with absolutely beautiful scenery. Lisa was fantastic to work with, very informative and incredibly prompt with her responses. The cabin was very cute and well kept, the hot tub overlooking the river was the perfect end to our days! Less than an hour from Portland Airport, this retreat offers a vibrant riverscape and access to the many forest trails or nearby Columbia Gorge--or just sit out on the riverfront deck and be soothed by the sounds of falling water and birdsong. Lots of inspiration for artists, writers, readers, thinkers, and contemplators--or just a chill getaway for someone who's been working too hard! And oh yes, the flow of the waterfall at night is wonderful to float you right into dreamland.

Our 4 bedroom house sits on 28 acres that includes Dougan Falls. As pictures reveal, this is a true getaway. The house is equipped with WiFi. There are two TVs, both with Direct TV. Very comfy beds with clean, quality bedding.

In winter it is very private and on hot summer days you will see people swimming and floating on the river. There is a deck overlooking the Washougal River that is perfect for having a BBQ. Plenty of parking and a private drive with a gate. Large enough for RVs. If you really want a get-out-of-town experience and only a short drive from Portland, this is it.

We have a Ring doorbell by the front door. Also, a driveway camera that shows the entry driveway to the street.

We wouod for sure stay again" - "The view of the falls is amazing. The property is very remote. Home was clean and warm since we visited in colder weather. A cute fireplace adds to the warmth and ambience of the home. Beds were amazing. It is an older home but renovations are definitely in process. We had a total of 8 at times and never felt crowded. The sunroom is a definite plus. If there is inclement weather or just chilly, it's great to sit and watch the river while drinking your morning coffee. A book is available for directions on how to work appliances and what to do. Very helpful and detailed. My only regret is that there we didn't have more time to explore the area close to the house. Lots of trails and things to see. The home is about a 35-40 minute drive into town. There is a convenience store which is much closer for quick items. Very nice time.
