The little country store just down the road is a must-visit. We enjoyed eating at Scoot’s Barbecue and Hole in the Wall which are 20-30 minutes (approx.) away but worth the drive. We also enjoyed exploring the quaint nearby town of Mathews. Check out Southwind Pizza if you go. The home is perfect for a couple or small family. My husband, 11-year-old son, and I enjoying kayaking with the provided equipment. We saw a large bald eagle right on property. Beds were comfy and kitchen was adequately stocked for preparing meals and snacks."

This lovely home comfortably sleeps 10 people with three bedrooms and one and half baths. Upon entering the house, you are greeted with a spacious living room, which includes a full sized sleeper sofa. The dining room will seat up to 8 guests with additional seating in the eat-in kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with full sized appliances along with many small appliances including a toaster, coffee maker, waffle maker and more. Just off the kitchen, the utility room houses a washer and dryer for your convenience. A half bath is located off the kitchen.
Additionally, the first floor provides a bedroom with queen size bed.
Moving to the upstairs, you will find one bedroom with a queen bed and a large bedroom with two queen beds. The full bath has been recently remodeled and tastefully decorated. Initial paper products are provided for the bathrooms and kitchen.
Each bedroom has an HDTV with Direct TV and two bedrooms have Blu-Ray/DVD players. All bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans and all linens are provided. WiFi is available to keep you connected if you so choose.
A peaceful relaxing patio area provides a grill with sitting and dining spaces. The house is located on a spacious corner lot with a nice yard for the children.
You will most certainly enjoy the charm and personality of the home and can indeed spend your vacation in the local area. Holly House is located only a short walk from Main Street where you will find a vibrant community of shops, restaurants, and Historic Sites with annual events such as the Daffodil Festival, Wine Festivals, Brew Jam Festivals and weekly Summer Market with Live Music. When you venture beyond the area, you can devote your time to visiting many historic and entertainment sites, such as Busch Gardens, Water Country, Jamestown, Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown Beach, and Beaver Dam Park just to name a few.

Enjoy privacy and security during your visit. This was the home of a retired schoolteacher and hopefully retains her generous personality. It offers a variety of books for reading and quiet contemplation.

There are just three steps up into the home from the driveway. The master bedroom is on the first floor and the en suite bathroom has a large shower with a low step. The remaining three bedrooms are on the second floor, and they share the upstairs bathroom.

It is very well appointed, with beautiful beach decor and the setting cannot be beat. Check in was seamless and the host was very responsive and accommodating. All in all, the only thing we change is how quickly the time flew by." - "We just got back from staying here. The views are absolutely amazing. You are right on the water! We watched the sunrise at the beach one morning, which is only a block from the house. So nice to wade in the water. Kids loved picking up crabs and getting seashells. While sitting on the couch, we could see dolphins! Enjoyed fishing off their pier which is only a few feet from their screened in porch. The bed was comfy and everything was really clean. Went to a local winery nearby one day and explored the town of Mathews and grabbed a pizza to eat back at the house. We plan to go back again!"

- "The property was much larger than I thought it would be for the location. The unit has been thoughtfully updated with modern amenities and furnishings but still retains the charm of the Main Street location. Speaking of location, you can’t ask for better. The owners also operate the coffee shop and restaurant below-a mainstay of the Gloucester community. The owner personally checked on us throughout our stay. When we return, I’ll check availability here first."

The carriage house at the historic Oak Hall estate features expansive views of the North River, and is close to the Colonial Triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Situated on the grounds of one of the finest houses in Gloucester County, amenities include an outdoor pool (from May through October), a private boat dock and over 500 meters of waterfront, including a private dock. This is an ideal getaway for a romantic weekend, for keen fishermen, for history buffs or just to enjoy the natural beauty of Mobjack Bay .

As well as a queen size bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area, the flat has a lovely terrace you can dine on in nice weather, which looks out over the lawn and river beyond.

About this space
Enjoy a unique and beautiful large home, on a private multi acreage property off a country dirt road. With two outdoor dining areas and a lounge area under the stars! We are located in a historical area, home of Pocahontas, and neighboring Yorktown and Williamsburg. Our small town also hosts a spring weekend daffodil festival and a new state park, Machicomoco. Enjoy small town life with plenty of restaurants and history to explore! *Please note that we live down a bumpy mile long dirt road.
Other things to note
Part of the unlit mile long road off the paved road can be dusty or muddy or with pot holes or be pleasantly grated. It can be annoying for some but we think our place is worth it. After half a mile you take a right off the dirt road and it’s gravel and well maintained but still unlit.

Our place has some creaky floors in the downstairs hall and occasional creaking of the house in general.

On rare occasions you may hear neighbors practice shooting their guns but usually only lasts 10-30 minutes.
