The night of the 28th I had the pleasure of dealing with an employee working the front office who apparently didn't "feel" I should be bothering her! I had simply asked if she had a couple extra Ziploc bags hanging around? She very abruptly told me: No, we do not carry those here. I said: Okay, can I have a couple black trash bags? She stared me down, making me feel uncomfortable and inconvenient to her! I quickly responded: You know for our little trash cans. She THEN got up from her seat reluctantly and walked towards this closet to get me some trash bags. Before reaching the closet, she stated without missing a beat: Uhm, I will notify housekeeping that your room does not have trash bags. I told her: No, I've had my "Do not disturb sign" up for a couple of days since we haven't really left our room. She felt the need to reiterate to me: Because if housekeeping isn't doing their job.... I cut her off mid sentence saying: No, it was nothing like that! I took the trash bags and said Thanks and turned and walked away! It's not ok for ANY employee of an establishment to make THEIR customers feel like an inconvenience! NEVER"

Beautiful brand new cabin located on Kachemak Bay in Homer, Alaska.
The cabin sleeps four adults and can sleep two small children. The bedrooms offer queen sized beds with plenty of dresser and closet space.
The cabin has complete kitchen with all appliances and has dishes, pot, pans, utensils etc.
The cabin has one bathroom with a large shower.
The living room has beautiful view of the Bay and also has a pull out Hide-a-bed for kids.
Close to The Homer Spit, airport and downtown shopping.
If you are bringing your boat down for weekend fishing there is room to park your boat.
All new construction never had pets or smokers so is great for anyone with allergies.
The deck in the front of the cabin offers a great view of the beach and wildlife.

The Old Inlet Bookshop, Mermaid Café and B&B is located on Main Street in beautiful downtown Homer, just off the Sterling Highway towards the beach. In a renovated historic log cabin, there is a used bookshop offering quality used books in most genres. Next door, there is the Mermaid Café that serves lunch and dinner. Upstairs is the Mermaid B&B in a charming Victorian style construction--it is well appointed and features local artwork.

In a private, wooded setting in Old Town, Homer, the Mermaid B&B offers a scenic, clean place to stay with a queen sized Posturepedic bed in the bedroom and a full sized fold-out futon in the living room. The dining room is in the turret with windows looking out over Kachemak Bay and the mountains and glaciers beyond. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything one needs to prepare meals.
