- "This place is great! The pictures are beautiful, but they don't even do it justice. It's more beautiful in real life. We stayed in the Cannery Cabin. It's lovely. It has everything you need: gas stove, small refrigerator, sink, dishes, pots and pans, LTE connection, comfy bed, nice shower with great hot water, toilet, and wonderful windows that display the beach and brilliant sunsets right outside your cabin. It's clean and so pretty! Kristi said that the glass in the windows came from an old historic cannery that was torn down, so they have that thick, elegant look. You can walk along the spit to the end where there's a big rocky formation that is really pretty and you can climb it and have great views from higher. All the views are amazing, all along the beaches, from the cabin, everywhere is beautiful. We took the row boat out, too. Great on the calm bay. Tons of eagles overhead all the time. We also saw otters and seals in the water, ever from inside the cabin. If you want to go into Seldovia, I think the only way is to call a taxi and arrange it that way, as there are no cars on the spit, and no bicycles, (unless you bring your own.) It's about 7 miles to town. We didn't go in, had fun playing on the beaches, etc. Thank you, Kristi! Love your place."

Sailwood Adventures is your connection to private wilderness lodging in backcountry Alaska. The main building of La Caleta is an open two level layout with sleeping quarters upstairs. The sleeping arrangement is open style with one set of bunk beds, a double bed, and 3 single beds.
The lower portion is devoted for the living room and dining room with full kitchen. A large wrap around deck joins the separate bathouse which houses a shower and sauna. A fleet of Sea Kayaks and safety gear are all a part of your
stay at La Caleta. Sea Kayaks are a dream for traveling along the shoreline with sea otters, while watching eagles and bears forage for food.
The tempo of the tides and nature rejuvenate your spirit and allow time for wandering. The water access provides many hours of exploring by foot or Kayak towards the head of Sadie Cove. This custom-built, 2,000 sq. ft. home was completed in 2018, featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen with beautiful soapstone countertops, a Quadrafire woodstove and custom woodworking throughout. It sleeps up to 10 guests. The open floor-plan makes this a great gathering space.

The house sits on 40 acres, providing optimum privacy and seclusion, yet is also just a short walk or drive to downtown Seldovia, and mere minutes from the airport and harbor. Seldovia is located on the Kenai Peninsula, south of Kachemak Bay. There are no roads to this quaint and eclectic town, but it can easily be accessed via air, ferry, or water taxi from Homer.

Of note, Rocky Ridge Retreat is a remote home. Services such as internet and landline phone are unavailable at this location. We do leave a Verizon iphone for emergencies and local contacts. Sometimes hotspot can be obtained with the iphone. However, internet services are free in the village at several locations including the Seldovia Public Library, Seldovia Harbormaster Office, and several restaurants. We ask our guests to be mindful of water usage as we also have a slow filling well and septic system. The holding tank for water will be filled with 1000 gallons upon guest arrival, but requires a manual refill when low. Owners should be called on the house iphone if there are any problems during the stay. Campfires are allowed in the campfire pit when local burn bans are not in effect.

Once again really enjoyed the location - easy walk to the harbor area for food, paddle boarded from just below the cottage, watched the kids fishing off the bridge from the deck, prime eagle watching location. This charming 2nd story timber frame suite is located over Thyme on the Boardwalk. It features a small deck overlooking the tidal slough off Seldovia Bay. This 377 sq ft suite includes a kitchen sitting room with a sofa and table, bathroom with a walk-in shower, high ceilings bedroom, and a small loft sleeping over the kitchen. The carpeted loft with a full-size air mattress is accessible by a fireman type ladder, not suitable for young children under 5 or adults that are not agile.

From the small deck, enjoy the energy of the daily tides and the many varieties of birds, including eagles with scenic mountains in the background. - "We stayed for 2 nights/3 days in this property and my kids are already asking to go back! After good communication with the property manager and some help with transportation there (we used Mako Water Taxi), a quick 20-minute boat ride across Kachemak Bay took us to this pristine cove that made us feel like the only people in Alaska! The cabin is cozy, warmed by electric baseboards, well-lit and incredibly well-stocked for visitors. My kids immediately set up in the upstairs loft, and the pull-down Murphy bed was incredibly comfortable for us two adults. Great shower/sink room, and believe-it-or-not for our Alaskan standards, the outhouse was clean and pleasant too! We brought our own food, both prepared and not, made fresh coffee, cooked a birthday cake and even used the crock pot! During the days we climbed down to the beach during mid and low tide to look for sea critters, starfish and also fished from shore. A pod of killer whales graced the cove one morning briefly, and there are resident harbor seal and a sea otter that were curious about us. There is an incredible beach on the opposite side of the attached beach that is huge when it is low tide. We brought our own kayaks and were able to kayak around the kelp beds at low tide, looking for colorful starfish and innumerable jellyfish of all sizes and shapes. Cell phone booster kept us connected. If you have read this far I hope you can appreciate how great this location is and we will be headed back for sure!"

From Oct 1st to May 1st our cabins are dry in Alaska, which means no running water. We provide mountain spring water and a clean cute outhouse, but no shower or flushing toilet this time of year. Baña (sauna) and hot tub are also available for use!

- "Beautiful home in a lovely town. We were able to walk to town in a few short minutes. Our children loved the house and there was room for everyone. The views were amazing. The two bikes in the garage to use were a nice touch. The property manager was responsive and helpful. The only suggestuon I have is to make sure that you ask for access to the water and dryer located on the basement. We didn't realize the property did not have them available in the home. With 9 people staying on the home, they were a must. We were able to get access to them all days but one. Our property manager was very accommodating!"

Conveniently located on Main Street and overlooking the picturesque Seldovia Harbor. The Seldovia Boathouse is the perfect home base for your small-town Alaskan Adventure. The quaint one-bedroom apartment features a full kitchen and living area, one bedroom with a queen-size bed, washer/dryer, big-screen television with a Blue Ray DVD Player, and even a full-sized extra freezer for storing all of the halibut and salmon you can catch. The Boathouse is within easy walking distance of several restaurants, The Linwood Bar and Grill, the Harbor, the Crab Pot Grocery Store, and the Seldovia Slough (where the king salmon run).

Other activities include sea kayaking, hiking the Otterbahn Trail, clam-digging, berry picking and bear viewing, and general exploration. Visit outside beach (approximately 1.5 miles from the Seldovia Boathouse), and snap some pictures of the three active volcanoes visible across the Kachemak Bay, or toast some marshmallows next to a warm beach bonfire in the evening.

Open all year round The Beach House is a 3 bedroom rustic house with a sleeping loft & a private hot tub just steps out the door. There are wrap around decks and ocean views out every window! We are located on MacDonald Spit across the bay from Homer. Reach us by Mako's Water Taxi or fly direct from Anchorage to Seldovia where you will be transported to your cozy Beach House. We have outstanding Bald Eagle & other wildlife photography opportunities Enjoy a quiet retreat-like setting, kayaks, sups and rowboats included. Sorry but we do not accept loud party groups, however, we would be happy to recommend some fun places in Seldovia that do ; ). For a truly Alaskan experience, a boat charter can take you to the Grewingk Glacier this is a one-hour hike where in the summer you can either kayak or picnic on the beach & in the winter you can explore the amazing ice or even skate the glacier!
