Cabin is nestled in a quiet peaceful woods on 10 private acres, located in Allegany County, NY, on a mile long dirt road (town plows the road) with an occasional car passing by. Sleeps 4 to 6 people.

This is a well maintained cabin for private rental, vacation home or relaxing getaway. We are looking for responsible guests to enjoy our cabin located in a remote area.

You can enjoy the well marked walking trails (one mile) weave through the woods where you might surprise a deer or other wildlife or just relax on the porch. The trails are great for snow shoeing or cross country skiing in the winter.

Enjoy the peacefulness of nature! Hear the chirping of the birds, crickets, only non-human noises, and dark sky at night with a clear view of stars and the Milky Way.

Enjoy the large fire pit outdoors for cooking your S'mores over the romantic crackling fire.

Now available- The Spiritual Essence Center, included with the cabin rental. This is your private cleared area back in the woods with rustic benches, and woods all around. Great for meditating or whatever you need to do to find your inner peace.

We have the Empire pass for your use. This pass allows your vehicle and passengers into all NY State Parks free of charge such as Letchworth State Park and Stony Brook State Park.

Stony Brook State Park has fresh fast flowing water which one could walk through with formed natural whirlpools in niches that one could sit and relax in.. The ease with which one could get close to the beautiful water fall feels great. Totally recommend it as a beautiful getaway in the heart of nature.

Wiscoy Falls, Filmore
This is a breathtaking series of natural waterfalls. The 3 tiers of falls spill into a creek bed where you can enjoy wading and swimming. The entire expanse stretches about 1/2 mi, making it a popular choice for family day trips.

We had an amazing couple of nights here and visited Letchworth State Park, the Arcade and Attica railroad, and even ventured to Niagara Falls. Everything you need is at your finger tips in the cabin. We loved having fires at night, coffee on the porch while having visits from hummingbirds, and walking the trails behind the property to see deer all around us! With its treasure trove of waterfalls and gorges. Venture off to take a Hot air balloon ride over Letchworth.( outside vendor)
Stony Brook State Park is close as well with fresh fast flowing water which one could walk through with forced natural whirlpools.
Explore picturesque Allegany county on the relaxing country roads to which many lead to small quaint villages with antique shops and some Amish shops. Drive farther north to the fingers lakes to tour the wineries as well. Rattlesnake Hill wildlife is hop skip jump from condo for those who love to venture out to take a hike or do some snow shoeing. As well as cross country skiing.Corning glass is less then a hour away. A must see for those who love art! Grocery shop at our famous Wegmans! In Hornell just 16 miles away

Our lake house is centrally located on the East side of Silver Lake, directly across from the Silver Lake Country Club. We are located within the village of Perry so we have public water, unlike a large majority of the properties on the lake that have well water.

Our expansive outdoor spaces include a large deck with living space off the four seasons room of the house that includes a outdoor dining table seating 8 and a separate relaxation area with a couch, chairs, and coffee table.
The large lake side lawn area is perfect for yard games and the firepit overlooking the lake allows our guests to enjoy the lake after watching the incredible sunsets across the lake. The enormous 700 square foot deck right on the water allows for plenty of relaxation space as well as the opportunity to take advantage of the great fishing in Silver Lake and to utilize the provided kayaks (2) and stand up paddle board. Our 70 feet of docks extend off the large deck and are arranged in an "L" shape to allow for easy access to the lake for fishing, swimming, kayaking, etc.

The inside of the lake house has been completely renovated from top to bottom while still maintaining many of characteristics from when the house was built in the 1920's. The house has air conditioning throughout, including each bedroom (we don't have any window A/C units) which is a rare find on Silver Lake and will make your stay very comfortable in the Summer months. For those visiting in the Winter months, we recently converted the fireplace to gas making it easy to enjoy the ambiance of a fire.

The main floor of our lake house features an open floor plan allowing you to enjoy views of the lake from nearly every room. Our large, fully stocked kitchen with a Keurig coffee maker and breakfast bar that seats three. The kitchen opens up to the dining room which has a large table that seats 8. The open floor plan flows from the dining room into the living room which has two large couches, a gas fireplace, and a 55" smart TV. The four seasons room is just off the family room and dining room and is the most sought after room in the house. The four seasons room has a round table that seats four which is perfect to enjoy the many games that are provided. There is also a large couch that seats six so your entire group can enjoy this signature room in comfort. There is a half bathroom downstairs, along with a full laundry room.

All of the bedrooms are located on the upstairs floor of the lake house. The master bedroom has a queen bed and overlooks the lake. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a bunk bed. The third bedroom has queen bed, a crib, and a bunk bed. There is one full bathroom on the upstairs floor with a stand up shower.

The stairs to the bedroom are a little steep, but just take it slow and you will be fine. The bed was made with gorgeous linen, and the bedroom is huge. The hosts always got back to us in a timely manner, and when there was a slight glitch with the propane for the grill, they told us they would be right over if the tank was empty. It was not, but the fact they were going to bring us a new one if needed was very reassuring. Overall this place was great, and we would definitely stay here again."

RW HOW Property sunrises are a MUST! If you are not an early riser, set your alarm at least once to see it! The view is also great from Inspiration Point in Letchworth State Park!

You can walk down the hill & be in Letchworth park in just minutes. If you GPS Letchworth State Park, it will take you to the Castile entrance, versus the much closer Perry entrance.

Rochester or Buffalo are each about a 40 minute drive. Niagara Falls, or the Finger Lakes area make for a wonderful day trip!

Perry is a lovely quaint little town that has really started to come back to life in the last 5 years! We LOVE Perry Main street- especially in the summer on a Saturday morning! It really comes alive and you can visit the market, along with the shops!
Perry has it’s own Wine bar- @rationwine, along with a brewery @silverlakebrewingproject!

While Letchworth is surely the highlight of our area, we are also home to Silver lake which is only about 5 minutes from the barn! You can enjoy Perry Public Beach, the kiddie water park at the park, Silver lake State Park, Silver Lake Marina (boat and paddle board rentals) or Silver Lake Country Club!

The West Barn is an industrial Morton style barn that has been brought back to life as an industrial, yet cozy living space. Green is what gives us Hygge in the West Barn, so you will find sprinkles of green decor throughout. I've heard a range of feedback describing the space including "eclectic, historic and vintage all at the same time", to "old world European feel". We want your initial reaction to be OMG & immediately learn the meaning of hygge when you arrive.

Thermal glass paned garage doors make up the entire East view- making for exceptional sunrises everyday! You pick- doors up or down! On a warm day, it's a treat to have the doors up for an open air concept.

The view of the East lawn also leads to the pasture where you will more often than not, find our farm animal friends grazing! You may greet them at the gate with a slice of bread (one per day, please!) and they will soon become your bff's...
Our other animal's reside on the North side of the property in the animal barn and are happy to nibble on your compost or any other vegetarian snacks you offer them!
The ladies at the Chick-INN will provide you with fresh eggs daily + the garden beds are bountiful during the garden season (seasonal)!

The dining & living areas face out to the east and are filled with unique vintage finds from all over Western NY! Upcycled windows and doors make up the living room accent wall- giving opportunity for the perfect photo ops. The vintage green trunk has games for a rainy day & the island is stocked with cookbooks if you prefer to find a new favorite recipe while away!

Chefs kitchen!! Modern top of the line Kitchen aid appliances, along with a fully stocked kitchen make for preparing meals while staying a breeze! The dreamy floating shelves, kitchen island, counter tops and sink bases were all hand made by an area craftsman.

Behind the giant yellow barn doors you will find the laundry room- you are welcome to utilize this during your stay as needed- detergent and softener is always fully stocked.

A Television is provided- there are not local channels or cable- but it is a smart TV, so you can utilize our Netflix account, or your own if that is your preference.

Fast Wifi is available via starlink.

We've got a gorgeous green chippy desk that has loads of space if you need to work while away! There is room for a computer and accessible outlets.

The North bedroom features a king bed with down bedding and a loft sitting area! The loft has seating for two and also provides a 'lofty' view into the living room and allows the morning sun into the room. It's the perfect space for some quiet time or getting cozy with your favorite book!

The West bedroom includes a lifted queen bed and gives you all the shabby chic vibes you could ever want! Sliding vintage green doors open into a private bathroom that showcases a large green glass tile shower with double shower heads and a deep basin sink. Our 1900's Apothecary cabinet also makes it's home in this bathroom. Turn on the provided essential oil diffuser, close your eyes and transport yourself right to the spa! Plush towels provided.

The main bathroom is across the hall from the king suite and is the communal restroom of the place. This bathroom features the most amazing 13' door. While 13' does not sound like much, wait until you see it in person and you literally need to tip your head back to see the top! The door was custom made by a local expert craftsman, after my husband had the wild idea of NEEDING a 13' door- it's perfect! This bathroom features a soaking tub with provided bubble bath, along with two 12" rainfall shower heads nestled into the "wet area"- which in our case translates into an incredibly large shower! You won't find another like it! Plush towels & bathroom joke book provided.

The view- unmatched amazing views of the Letchworth Highbanks' every season of the year. If you do nothing else during your stay- set your alarm for a sunrise (or request a wake up text). You will be so pleased that you did!

There is a designated fire pit area in front of the barn. Firewood is available for purchase from a local high school student. If you pre order, we can have it waiting for you upon arrival. The cost is $12 for 2 bundles. This service is available seasonally.

The barn is located on the back side of the RW How property. We ask that guests use the outer loop driveway only and do not utilize the driveway that runs next to the yellow Rw How Haus. Please respect other guests that may be staying at the main house, or other barn space and they will do the same for you!

Mowing occurs once per week - please know that the landscaping crew will be in/out on property as quickly as possible.

We have exterior security cameras for security and your safety. Be sure to register all guests staying/present in the home.
Tampering with the cameras in any way will result in immediate rental termination and a $500 fee.

The Southview space is a part of the West Barn on the RW How property. With intentional unique design, this space was created to be the ultimate getaway space for you and your friends or family! It features creative spaces, rustic boho decor elements throughout and is the perfect place to retreat after a day of exploring Western New York and Letchworth State Park. We want your initial reaction when you walk into the silo to be, “ OMG" as you immediately understand the meaning of Hygge.

The second half of the West Barn and the Silo addition make up this Southview space! An incredible countryside getaway featuring amazing views- both in and outside!

The silo features a downstairs sitting/living room space that is also the main silo entry. The upstairs of the silo is where you will find the Sunrise Suite- guaranteed to give you an unmatched view in the morning hours, right from bed! The bed rests on a custom concrete platform centered under a giant wood beaded chandelier. The Sunrise suite is also home to a private work-from-home nook complete with a desk and a hammock to catch some Z's on your lunch break!

The Silo opens into the West Barn where you will find a King Suite with an en suite bathroom, along with an additional bedroom with a queen bed. Across the hall from the queen bedroom you will find the main bathroom with a tub like no other.

For this space, we salvaged many elements including the ceilings, much of the decor, accent walls, the silo, nearly all chandeliers and the staircase elements. The barn beams and logs were saved from old barns on our property and incorporated into the space wherever possible. After 5 minutes, you will forget you are in the barns and feel completely transported.

As you enter the main living spaces you will be amazed at the amazing views from the garage doors that welcome the natural light & morning sunrises. As weather permits, enjoy the doors up for an open air concept.

Chef’s Kitchen!! The kitchen is complete with black stainless appliances and is fully stocked for your convenience with dishes, serving ware and starter cooking supplies like spices. We include items like a crock pot, air fryer, immersion blender to make your chef experience even more convenient!

The kitchen and main living room have an open concept with a live edge wood bar for eating, an enormous locally made island and living room seating overlooking a faux mantle and smart TV with apps such as Netflix and Hulu available.

The view of the East lawn also leads to the pasture where in the summer and fall you will more often than not, find some of our farm animal friends grazing their days away! You may greet them at the green gate with a slice of bread (one per day, please!) and they will soon become your bff's...
Some other animals live in the animal barn on property year round and will be happy to meet you and nibble on your compost or any other vegetarian snacks you offer her!
The ladies at the Chick-INN will provide you with fresh eggs daily (summer+fall only)!

Western NY fun fact: there are more barns and farms and cows than people making the cow to person ratio in this county about 3:1. Moo! Make sure you ask about meeting our cows and making their day with a treat! Farm tours are available as an optional enhancement!

There are three rental space options on the Rw How property in total- This one- SOUTHVIEW at the West Barn, as well as Highbanks at the West barn (these two spaces can be combined to make a larger space if you prefer to rent both) and the Rw How Haus. Each rental option has it's own private entrance and space, as well as parking area. You can enjoy your neighbors or have a more private escape in your own space. Shared areas include the outdoors yard area, and there are 2 fire pit's available for use.

Laundry in the Southview space is available upon request.

We just bought our place in November 2022 and recently completed renovations. We removed walls on the first floor, installed new drywall and opened up the family room to the dining room to optimize views of the lake throughout the first floor living space! We installed new flooring, completely renovated 2 full bathrooms…and have all new furniture!

For those looking to work from home and need a change of scenery, we have a separate office with a desk (did I mention, a view of the lake from the office!) The huge screened-in porch makes for a great place to have a cup a coffee in the morning or watch sunsets in the evening. Outdoor space includes fire pit, Adirondack Chairs, outdoor dining table and grill. Huge backyard with plenty of space for yard games.

Other amenities: 10 minute drive from Letchworth State Park, located directly across the lake from The Club at Silver Lake Golf (public golf course) and right down the road from The Charcoal Corral and Silver Lake Twin Drive-in (drive in movie theater, mini golf, arcade and restaurant). For those beer lovers, we are a few minute drive from Silver Lake Brewing Project.

The barn on the far side of the property is home to our friendly Camel, Sandy, the capybaras and some other fun animal pals (Animals on property may change). We encourage guests to enjoy the animal barn and animals throughout their stay! If you are uncomfortable visiting the animals solo, please feel free to schedule an animal experience with a caretaker.

Deep cleaning fee of $500 charged for any unregistered pets. Pets are only allowed when pre registered. Pet fee applies.

Mowing occurs once per week - please know that the landscaping crew will be in/out on property as quickly as possible.

During certain points of the year (fall) there may be a presence of cluster flies in the upstairs windows (mainly facing the East). We do all that we can to deter them prior to guest arrival.

We have exterior security cameras for security and your safety. Be sure to register all guests staying/present in the home.
Tampering with the cameras in any way will result in immediate rental termination and a $500 fee.

Very easy to find with good parking, plenty of space to lounge and entertain, nice electric fireplace for heat and central air to cool, overall it was really nice. Check-in was easy and the town is quiet and safe. The only reason we’re giving it 4/5 stars is because there was a fairly strong smell of wet dog in the rental upon arrival. They are pet friendly so we assumed a past renter stayed with their dog and allowed their pet to lounge in the carpeted living room and possibly on the couches, retaining the smell. We decided to buy a candle to mitigate the smell for the duration of our stay which helped."
