Sand Road Apartment is on a dirt road that passes thru Tioga State Forest. This is a wild area of Pennsylvania. The apartment is constructed and on the second floor of a garage seperat from the owners residence. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom (shower) . Couples or singles are welcomed at the Sand Road apartment. A nice location to begin many activities from. Hike the trails across the road. Consult the Tioga State Forest map or a local trail guidebook and you will find a variety of beautiful hikes. Head down the mountain to the Rails To Trails bike trail for some flat bicycle riding thru some of the nicest scenery anywhere including The Grand Canyon Of Pennsylvania. Pine Creek nearby offers good trout fishing in the spring or canoeing, kayaking or white water rafting with the outfitters. Lakes nearby offer good fishing in all seasons. You will not be far from the town of Wellsboro. Whether its dining , entertainment (surprisingly good at The Deane Center ), shopping or just sitting on the town green, you balance your stay with a little getting back to civilization. You also have the option of easy highway access (roughly an hour north ) to tour Corning, Watkins Glenn, or the wine country around the Finger Lakes. Golf courses are reasonably close. Also it is worthy to note a number of annual activities held. The "Green Monster" running race passes thru the forest across the road from here in addition to mountain bike races. Driving thru the forest, you may see a variety of wildlife including deer, turkey, bears, coyote (mostly you just hear them at night) bobcats (maybe a fleeting glimpse) and grouse, chipmunks etc. The apartment sets on the second floor of a garage separate from the owners residence. There is a deck to relax on and a fire pit. If you have come on a motorcycle you are welcome to park in the shed over nite. Again , note the apartment is on the second floor. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom,, bathroom (shower), and laundry room (washer,dryer, and slop sink ). The cabin is set up comfortably with a
queen log bed in the master bedroom and the other bedroom has a double log bed and a twin log bed.
Every room has a ceiling fan, and air conditioning in summer months if needed.

Two full bathrooms in the home. One has a beautiful cast iron soaking tub. We provide all the bath towels, hand towels and face towels. Soft soap in bear dispensers in each of the bathrooms, so no need to pack hand soap, we will have it there for you!

The kitchen has everything you might need - dishes, utensils, pots, pans, toaster, mixer, blender, full refrigerator, new glass top stove, microwave and coffee maker and a Kcup coffee maker. Dish towels and cloths are in the drawers. Seating for 8 at the table. This is a great place to sit and watch for wildlife!! Deer, turkey, and rabbits abound!
Plastic wraps and foil are usually there also.
Linens and towels are supplied, plus a washer and dryer.
We also provide paper products enough to get you started.

So much fun can be had, by roasting s'mores by the fire pit, or talking a walk through the woods enjoying the sounds of nature. Enjoy dinner sitting outside on the picnic table after a beautiful day spent in historic Wellsboro or hiking the Grand Canyon.

We have an extensive DVD library and plenty of books to read. Toys,games,and puzzles for all!

Our porch is furnished with log rockers so you can enjoy your
morning coffee or afternoon glass of ice tea. Watch the hummingbirds at the feeder. The newly added back deck is a wonderful place to just sit.

Welcome to your piece of paradise! Located on over 10 wooded acres near the Grand Canyon of PA, the old town charm of Wellsboro, and hiking right outside your door on your private property or in local parks and forests. There is also amazing star gazing, stream and lake fishing, rafting and kayaking, hunting, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and antiquing in the surrounding small towns. Bring your bikes, ATVs or UTVs and enjoy miles of uncrowded gravel roads. The home is very secluded with no loud road noise or neighbors nearby. We are centrally located between Wellsboro, Gaines and Westfield giving you easy access to great dining, shopping and small-town charm.

You may feel far from the city but you will have all of the modern comforts you are accustomed to including: High speed Wi-Fi, internet TVs in living room and bedrooms, heating and air conditioning, full kitchen, washer and dryer, land line phone, comfortable new furniture (reclining chair and loveseat) and beds, firepit with Adirondack chairs. In one bedroom there is a king bed, in the second bedroom there is one queen and a bunk bed, and in the living room is a pullout queen size sofa bed.

Without leaving the property, you can hike the 10 acres of wilderness to the seasonal creek bed. Make s’mores by the firepit while star gazing from some of the darkest skies on the east coast. Walk or ride on the private roads in the area. Located 2,150 feet above sea level and surrounded by serene trees, even on the hottest days in the cities, it stays cool at the home. At this altitude we also have beautiful mountain laurel in late June through July. If you like to play in the snow, being in north central PA we also get a good amount of the white stuff, and it stays on the ground for a while. There is even a snowmobile club about 15 minutes away.

The gravel roads to the home are well maintained; however, they are only plowed after we receive about 3 inches of snow, so the road may get slippery, a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is recommended in the winter.

- "Awesome" - "My family and friends have been renting apartments 2 & 3 for our annual fishing trip to the local lakes for about 5 years now. Each year the owner (Charlie) makes improvements to the property both inside and out. This year was no different from the new gravel in the driveway, the new entry door on apartment 3, to new wifi, and always very clean. It's just a convenient place for us to fish Cowanesque, Tioga and Hammond lakes. The fishing this year was tough because of the old weather and plenty of wind but we managed to catch a few. We'll return again next year."

This is a fantastic property for the outdoor enthusiast. Star gazing is great as the back and front yards have open sky. This cabin sits on 10 beautiful acres find your way to the top of the mountain. This property has 2 creeks running through it. It has 3 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. A master with its own private bathroom. Sleeps 8 in beds. One bathroom has a bathtub. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer with a utility sink. An open floor plan with a huge fire place in the living room. Roku TV above fireplace. DVD player with a variety of DVD available. Ceiling fans throughout. With mini splits for heat and AC. - "Nice" - "Nice place to stay" - "The place was very nice. Had a good time enjoying the views from the deck. It was just not long enough." - "I liked being close to Pine Creek Grove and Corning Glass museum. Everywhere we drove was gorgeous. We started in Allentown, PA. The restaurants were good and close. Finding this place was dicey, total darkness. We drove up a driveway, and yes, that was it. There are lights next to the bldg but where were the streetlights? It was dark enough to see the stars. The inside was dumpy but I don't care because the bed was good and a full sized refrigerator. We heard a little noise from the other apartments but it didn't interfere with our sleep. We picked the place because it was near the GRAND CANYON OF PA, which is gorgeous, no pun intended."

The bathroom is on the first floor.
Just West of Wellsboro PA with all the charms of a Dickens town. This is small town America. The PA Grand Canyon is 9 miles away, where there's fishing, biking, hiking, kayaking. Over hundred miles of Snowmobiling trails and ATV's. We even have Rock Climbing inTioga State Forest at Blue Run Rocks trail 3 miles away. Asaph Run picnic area with some amazing views, trail and a creek, 4 miles away. Hunting State Game Lands all around the cabin.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed the place!" - "My husband and two dogs stayed at this lovely cabin this past weekend. We had been wanting to visit the PA Grand Canyon. This cabin was perfect - small and cozy and the owners provided all of the small, personal touches and amenities that made our stay special. The fireplace was amazing and kept us toasty all weekend." - "We enjoyed a fantastic long weekend at the camp with our family of 6 (2 adults, 3 kids, 1 dog). The cabin was very clean and well-appointed with all of the amenities you would usually think of and even more! It's also clear that the owner has put a lot of time and effort into keeping the cabin updated as there was nothing in there that seemed old/outdated. The only thing I'd tell folks to be aware of is that it's definitely 'off the beaten path' to get there, having to drive 15-20 minutes on a rough dirt road to get to the cabin. I would not recommend driving there in a small car, but you should be fine with anything with any type of ground clearance. We're definitely going to try to go back to continue exploring and relaxing!"

Linens and towels are provided, along with a dual coffee pot/Keurig. We provide a starter home kit with a limited supply of essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, and trash bags, please be prepared to bring any additional supplies you may need for your stay.
