My daughter unfortunately broke a glass during our stay and within a couple of minutes of notifying reception, two members of staff came up to the room and cleared everything up for us. On our last evening, we had to hang around in reception until 1am in the morning waiting for our flight and George, the very kind man on reception came to ask us if we needed blankets so that we could have a sleep. Fortunately, the manager handled it professionally and efficiently, allowing us to enjoy our stay without further issues. One word of caution: be careful when booking through Expedia. I tried to contact them about the discrepancy, but received no response. Based on my experience, it might be better to book directly with the hotel to avoid any confusion. Overall, Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel exceeded our expectations, and I would gladly stay here again. - "Beach front" - "We had a great two weeks in the hotel with the staff being very flexible in accommodating us. The hotel is metres away from the beach, we had a sea view room with air conditioning which was very pleasant. However, the photos of the hotel on Expedia we saw are at least 20 years old and the hotel is no way a 4* hotel by western standards. There is no restaurant as part of the hotel any more, although there is a breakfast room which seems to get food from a neighbouring hotel. We were given western breakfast options (cereals, toast, eggs etc) each day, along with fresh cut fruits and coffee. There are a large number of restaurants within walking distance, along the beachfront, and we ate at least twice in the ones we visited. The majority of tourists during our visit were Indian including a large number of family groups, but we were made to feel welcome. Overall, glad we chose this hotel for our Christmas getaway"

- "It is a place full of character. Delightful staff (limited English with some did not take away from their kindness and personal care). The building is all traditional Kerala, lots of dark wood, and a very amusing lift playing Tamil music. My balcony faced the fires of coconut palms, with birds occasionally calling out, but the dominant sound was the breakers as the beach is 20 metres down the lane. The room was spacious and comfortable: a bit old fashioned so this is not a modern smart business hotel. It is much better. I really enjoyed my stay. The worst thing was the feeble WiFi. Plenty of storage and the bathroom entirely adequate. Its proximity to the beach, the quieter end, is a bonus. "

They say the remote was broken and cannot be replaced and the work around they suggested was to keep the windows and doors of balcony open. We had planned to stay at Ganesh for three days, but only stayed for one day and a half. This, however, had nothing to do with either the house or Ganesh, who is a lovely host and super friendly. We simply got an offer to check in two days early at the next hotel we were staying at further down south in Kovalam for free, since our room had become available, so we decided to shorten our stay at Grow beach and head on south. I would gladly recommend Ganesh house home stay. It's comfortable, homey and clean - and the wifi is stable."
