We stayed at the third floor with a balcony overlooking the beautiful view of the quiet town. There were also restaurants nearby, so we had our dinner at the Park Hotel just minutes away by walking. The house is located approximately 400m to the town centre and the cable car station. It is a 5 minute walk to the ski bus-stop or one can simply reach this easily on skis as well. The ski lifts are only 1000m away. Although there is a public carpark is nearby, The chalet has its own private garage which can be used if requested. The garage is near the public parking. You can not drive direct to the chalet.

In winter, skiing in the Aletscharena, cross-country skiing in Goms or leisurely hikes, on many winter hiking trails in the Goms and the Aletscharena.

- "Happy with all!" - "We were very late booking our holiday this year so were delighted to see that Bamatta was available, having spent a lovely week there two years ago. This time we chose to spend our whole two week holiday in Fiesch, and also to fly to Geneva and rent a car rather than driving all the way from England, The apartment was as lovely as we remembered- perfectly clean and comfortable. With a two week stay we ate more meals at home, so we appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and central location - the supermarket, bakery and butcher/deli are a few minutes' walk away. We explored some different places this time, both close to Fiesch and further away. We particularly enjoyed walking at Bellwald and the challenging drive over the Furka pass to Andermatt. We also visited Luzern, the Simplon Pass area and Zermatt, and had some quiet days relaxing on the balcony in the sunshine. Overall we had a lovely two weeks and we'd like to thank Valeria for maintaining such a lovely apartment. "

The Josihaus stands on a sunny south-facing slope in the canton of Valais 1367m / asl in Martisberg, one of the smallest municipalities of Switzerland with 19 residents. The Binn Valley Nature Park and UNESCO Aletsch Glacier are next door. The Aletsch Arena ski area is easily accessible and has hiking trails located right outside the door. It can be in Josihaus but also work well, there is WiFi. In summer there is a classical music festival in the nearby village Ernen. The Josihaus is very quiet.

- "The five of us celebrated a week's holiday in Josihau in the village of Martisberg. I can only say that we really enjoyed it. The house is clean, spacious, fully equipped and the old house is nicely decorated. Thomas is an excellent host and - if needed - very helpful. Martisberg is a wonderful starting point for various mountain walks. Backpack full of sandwiches and drinks and go! Definitely worth repeating!" - "It was a wonderful stay that we spent at the Josihaus, we found that the chalet is super well equipped (oven, hob, beds, sofa, plaid, candles, crockery, fireplace, etc.) we lacked nothing. It is a clean and beautiful chalet. The small negative point of the room are the duvets, we would have preferred a duvet for 2 people, it was really nothing, maybe only a tip. The municipality of Grengiols is part of the Binn Valley landscape park. Grengiols is also known for its only here Grengjertulpen, which bloom in thousands above the village in May.

- "We really enjoyed our week long stay in the charming holiday house in the picturesque Grengiols. The house has maintained its picturebook old charm with wooden beams and original features whilst boasting all modern features like double glazed windows, modern heating system/kitchen/bathroom/washing machine/tv/broadband etc. Upon arrival we were greeted by the kind hosts personally. Our children were especially impressed with the original 1818 ceramic ovens. The holiday apartment was spacious with beautiful views upon the village and mountains with a large living room, kitchen/dining area,, and lovely bedrooms. The highlight for the children was the modern mezzanine balcony loft which was a wonderful extra. As the balcony loft was only accessible by a modern ladder the kids quickly claimed the balcony loft space as theirs bringing all the board games, books and i-pad to their ‘kingdom’ whilst leaving us with the whole apartment. We really enjoyed the skiing nearby in the Aletsch arena as well as in the picturesque villages a short drive away. We also enjoyed a very good dinner in the local restaurant with food made from fresh local produce and based on local specialities. Of course we couldn’t leave without sampling the different sorts of cheeses made at different times of the year in Greniols and surrounding area. Grengiols and the holiday house was really a wonderful place to soak in the beauty of nature and unwind whilst providing a great starting point to do skiing. We look forward to returning, and can thoroughly recommend this lovely property and the hosts."
