The common room with the fireplace was so cozy. When I was there the embers were dying and I asked one of the ladies to put another log on. She said that the soapstone fireplace would get too hot so she said no which was fine but as I was sitting in front of the embers one of the men who worked there put in another log and the same lady walked in. I think she thought I asked the guy to put another log in after she told me no but I didn't! So if she reads this I swear I didn't pull a "mom said no so I'll ask dad." Nevertheless I can't wait to stay in Hotel Edelweiss again!"

A modern chalet apartment with stunning views of the spectacular Lauterbrunnen Valley that are genuinely unsurpassed. The Staubach Falls are over to one side, visible from every room, and alpine meadows lie straight ahead, the views of which are unobstructed by any other buildings. There is nothing to spoil the view.

Located next to open pasture, on the outside edge of a small modern chalet development, wide french doors open out onto a large sunny terrace, great for outside dining and barbecuing, but even better for just sitting and gazing at one of the world’s most dramatic valleys. Unsurprisingly, the area is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Inside is perfect for a self catering holiday - a large open-plan lounge and dining area with cosy underfloor heating, oak furniture and comfy leather settees. The well equipped kitchen is finished with granite surfaces and includes ceramic hob and oven, filter coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave, as well as all other essential equipment.

A large master bedroom with king size bed and solid oak furniture, has ample room for a cot, if needed. The second bedroom provides flexibility for families, with full size bunk beds and a single bed.

The level access throughout the property is often appreciated by both older people and those with young children.

Other features include free and unlimited WiFi internet, international cable TV, DVD, washing machine and drier, ski room and private parking garage. The price also includes all Tourist taxes, end of stay cleaning, bed linen and towels, heating and taxed rubbish/garbage collection, (ie there are no extra costs).

The property is situated well away from the traffic on the main road, but still only two minutes from the Post Bus which runs regularly along the valley. A small local store is only a short distance across the river, but a full range of shops can be found in the village, ten minutes walk away.

As well as the trains to Interlaken, cable cars link to the international ski areas of Murren and Wengen, including the famous Eiger Northface cog railway to the Jungfraujoch. Further afield the excellent train and Post Bus service makes a car unnecessary.

In winter there is a regular free ski bus service two minutes away, which directly connects to the ski lift system. In addition a cross country ski trail skirts through the grounds of the chalet.

Tennis courts are 200m away and there is an outdoor swimming pool in the village. Numerous hiking trails provide for all ages and abilities, each with their own spectacular scenery. Similarly cycling opportunities range from adventurous mountain biking to more gentle electric bikes, all available to rent locally. The Trummelbach Falls are an easy 20 minute walk, one of 72 waterfalls which tumble into the Lauterbrunnen Valley, and the gallery behind the Staubach Falls is barely ten minutes away.

In summary, the location is truly glorious.

This luxurious and modern apartment was built in 2013 and is located in the beautiful valley of Lauterbrunnen (often called the most beautiful valley of Switzerland) situated in the middle of the Jungfrau region with stunning views of the mountains, waterfalls and lush meadows. Because the apartment is located on the ground floor, it is very easy to step outside to enjoy the spectacular surroundings right from the terrace.

Located on the outskirts of the picturesque Swiss village of Lauterbrunnen the apartment is very conveniently situated for exploring the surrounding area. Ideal for hiking in summer and skiing and snowboarding in the winter for example. It is also a perfect base for visiting Interlaken, Brienz and Spiez and to sail across the blue lakes "Brienzersee" and "Thunersee". Lauterbrunnen and all aminities are easy to reach by foot but taking the bus is also possible, the bus stop is next door. At the same bus stop, you can take a bus to go to the ski resorts.

This ground floor apartment has an open living / dining room with comfortable sofas, oak furniture and a pleasant floor heating throughout the apartment. Large patio doors open onto the private terrace that includes garden furniture, sun loungers, a parasol and a BBQ. The kitchen is equipped with a granite counter, top appliances and is very well equipped. The main bedroom has a nice large 2-person oak bed and the second bedroom has two 1-person oak beds. If needed, a babybed can be provided. The bathroom has a tub / shower and a large sink.
On the ground floor of the chalet is also a separate, heated room for storing skis, boots and sledges.

The building is numbered with a different number than the one listed on the address. Ask the host to give you the number before you come. We could not locate it for about 30 minutes until we called the apt manager who told us what it was. 2. Bus 141 is the one to take. You can pick it up directly across of the train station. The stop is Schutzenbach. It leaves at :05 and :35 on the hour (eg 8:05, 8:35). Most people just hop on and off the bus, though if you ask the driver he will charge you 3Chf/person. It goes into town at :17 and :47 on the hour at the stop across the street from the apartment. 3. You are near the campground across the Lutschine and they have a store there. 4. The overview of the apartment is in a drawer, which we didn't find until 2 days before we left (we were there for 7 inclusive days--which tells you that most things are self-explanatory. It was great. We would definitely, definitely stay there again, if we could."

Summer or winter this brand new Penthouse apartment is in a prime location with spectacular views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and famous Staubbach Falls.

The apartment is within walking distance of the Lauterbrunnen Village which is also facilitated by a frequent bus service. The bus stop is directly located outside the apartment. During the winter season this allows easy access to the whole of the Jungfrau Ski Region. (Wengen, Mürren and Grindelwald). All year round the Lauterbrunnen train station is the departure point for the most spectacular mountain railway in Europe.

Lauterbrunnen Village has some great restaurants, a village pub, bike, ski, hiking, souvenir shops and a supermarket.

We have enjoyed furnishing our brand new apartment to the highest quality, you will find it clean and spacious. The entire apartment has under floor heating and the apartment has two parking spots.

The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area has spectacular views from all windows and skylights and leads onto a large balcony.

The apartment was recently refurbished & offers both stunning views and easy access to all that the spectacular Lauterbrunnnen valley and surrounding area. The large south facing balcony, has both dining and relaxing seating areas where you can enjoy your coffee and meals taking in the stunning views that take in the mighty cliffs, waterfalls and glaciers of the Jungfrau Region.

This 3 bedroom apartment is located in the most impressive glaciated valley in the Alps of the Berner Oberland. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, you can enjoy your coffee or meals on the south facing balcony where the views extend over mighty cliffs with waterfalls and glaciers of the Jungfrau Region. Chalet Candamo is a luxurious 5-bedroom chalet in the centre of Mürren, a traffic-free village; refurbished in 2010 to offer spacious and luxurious accommodation for 10 people, stylishly decorated and furnished, and intelligently designed for practical convenience and comfort.

The top floor of the chalet is given over to a splendid living space open to the eaves in the dining/living area where two sets of French windows open on to a balcony facing one of the most famous views in the Swiss Alps: the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau Mountains. The heavy oak dining table seats 10 with elbow room and 3 comfortable sofas are grouped around the glassed in wood-burning fire.

For the summer there is a secure garden with a BBQ and outdoor furniture so that you can relax and enjoy the amazing views.

Guests will notice many personal and homely touches in the chalet and those with an interest in skiing history will notice many decorative details

Chalet Layout:

The ground floor has a front door which leads into a front hall with coat hooks and shoe racks.

There are two large bedrooms, with twinbeds that join as one if needed and plenty of wardrobe space; one bathroom with individual shower and bath, a laundry room, and a boot room with boot heaters and a ski rack with an outside door opening almost onto the piste.

The first floor comprises two large bedroom with superking beds, ample wardrobe space and balcony; one double bedroom again with a large wardrobe; one bath/shower room, one shower room/WC and one WC.

The top floor, the main living area, is open to the eaves, a south facing mainly glass aspect with a large balcony. It also has a shower room/WC, a semi open plan kitchen and a television room with a sofa bed and chest of draws which could double as a cooks bedroom if needed.

Perched on a high, sunny terrace facing the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the village is the highest altitude ski resort in the Bernese Oberland. It nestles at the foot of the Schilthorn with its revolving Piz Gloria Restaurant, made world-famous by a James Bond film.

In summer, Mürren is the perfect place from which to start a host of hikes, from simple to strenuous.

You can reach Mürren from Lauterbrunnen or from Stechelberg by cable car.

Located amidst some of the world's most spectacular scenery, Mürren is a charming little village that has managed to escape over-development despite being famous in the history of winter sports since the very start of downhill skiing. Located at one end of the legendary Jungfrau region, on the same lift pass as Wengen and Grindelwald although not linked to them by ski piste (you can however get across by a wonderful, century-old mountain railway).
Among its many claims to fame, early mention must be made of the revolving restaurant perched on top of the Schilthorn mountain, also known as `Piz Gloria` (2970m / 9750ft) with incredible views all around. The panorama from here includes Mont Blanc on the French - Italian border, the German Black Forest as well as the local peaks of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. Mürren is a car-free village, like Wengen, any drivers must park their cars in one of the large valley car parks below and take the cable cars up to the resort.

This is a spacious 110 sqm, middle floor, 3 bedroom apartment with spectacular views of the Lauterbrunnen valley and famous Staubbach falls. It is about ~15 minute walk to the train station but a bus does come right nearby the property. The store at the nearby campground was super convenient. Check in and out instructions were very helpful and easy to follow. We appreciated all the recommendations provided as well. The host was really responsive and went above and beyond. - "Can't say enough about this stay. Hosts were communicative and detailed in check in/out procedures. Home was very clean, well equipped and maintained. The location was literally next to the main local bus which made getting around to the other towns so easy. We loved every minute and can't wait to return." - "We loved our stay in this property. Once inside, it is the last door on the left, listed by last name now, not first name, so a little tricky again. The only complaint is that the bed is very hard, for our taste, and we like hard mattresses usually. I would definitely recommend this property for location and cleanliness. I am in interior design, and I think they did a very nice job with everything .Thanks for sharing your property!"

The free standing Chalet has three floors where the top floor is dedicated to stylish open plan living. Comfortably seating 12 around a large french style wooden table and state of the art kitchen. With a large open stone fire place at its heart. Double height ceilings with many windows and surrounded by balconies all facing the spectacular Jungfrau massive and the legendary north wall of the Eiger.

Chalet Layout:
The main entrance is located on the first floor which has a separate ski room for all ski equipment.
On entering Chalet Sofia you have a large boot room with many hooks for coats and a ski boot warmer for 16 pairs of ski boots.
On the first floor there is also a laundry room and the wellness spa which has a spacious Swedish sauna/steam room and a large covered Jacuzzi outside overlooking the most famous views in the Swiss Alps: Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains. This is the perfect place to relax after-skiing while listening to your favourite music. There is also a separate shower and w/c.
The winding broad stair case that runs through the whole chalet then leads onto the second floor where 4 spacious bedrooms are located.
Bedroom 1 - Kingsize bed with double french doors opening onto a sun terrace.
Bedroom 2, 3 and 4 - All have 1 queen size bed and 3 singles configured in a bunk bed fashion. 2 of the bedrooms open out onto there own balconies with lounge area
and un-interupted views of the surrounding mountains.
The set-up of the bedrooms allows flexibility to accommodate many different group/family configurations.
On this level there are 2 bathrooms with a separate w/c and shower.
The family entertainment room is also on the second floor with cosy sofas and a movie theatre with a surround sound system.
The stairs then lead to the 3rd floor of Chalet Sofia and the most spectacular open plan living with vaulted ceilings and a state of the art kitchen. A large french style dining table that comfortably seats 12 while listening to the Bose surround sound music system. There are cosy sofas in-front of the large stone open fire place. The whole 3rd floor is surrounded by balconies where you can seat 12 for lunch or have a cosy kitchen breakfast while being surrounded by the tranquil mountains.
The master bedroom is on the 3rd floor that has a king size bed and a working cosy fireplace with double doors opening onto your private terrace with comfy chairs to sit and have your morning coffee in the sunshine while listening to the singing birds.
Bedroom 5 has its own en-suite bathroom with delux shower and w/c.
There is also a separate w/c on this level.

Murren is a cosy mountain village situated at 1650m at the foot of the ski mountain Schilthorn 2970m on a ridge of a 800m cliff drop above the Lauterbrunnen valley right across of the impressive Jungfrau massive. Murren is by many referred to as the most beautiful ski resort in the world. The village is car free and only reached by cable car/train. The cable car that leaves from Lauterbrunnen is reached by car from International airports in Bern (1 hour) Zurich, Basel and Geneva in approximate (2 hours) or by train in just over 3 hours.
Murren ski area is connected to two other ski resorts in Berner Oberland, Wengen and Grindelwald. Together they form the ski area Jungfrau that includes 44 lifts, 213km of pist with 98 different trails including the most famous one - The Lauberhorn Rennen in Wengen, the Alpine World Cup's longest downhill race.
Murren is the birthplace of alpine skiing. It was here ski tourism was born in the early 1900s and the first competition in slalom was arranged here in 1922. Since then Murren is one of the few exclusive ski resorts that has arranged Alpine World Championship twice, the first one in the history was 1931.
The relative few number of hotels and tourist beds in Murren versus the size of the lift system is unusual in the Alps and results in a laid back and relaxing atmosphere without any queuing at the lifts.

The Chalet is wonderful and the views from the entire home are breathtaking and beautiful. The property manager met us at the train station and helped us transport all the luggage up the hill to the Chalet and stayed to ensure everything worked properly and that we had everything we needed. He called us several times throughout the week to see if we had any questions or concerns. Ideally located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the apartment is well suited for both summer and winter holidays. Within easy reach of Lauterbrunnen village with shops, restaurants and local train/cable car services to Interlaken and the Alpine villages of Wengen, Grindlewald and Murren, from which you can access hundreds of kilometers of walking trails and ski runs.

Lauterbrunnen is a small alpine village in the famous Jungfrau region of Switzerland. It is the ideal base for both summer and winter holidays for hiking, skiing, sledging or mountain biking, or you can take gentle walks through the breathtaking mountain scenery. The valley has 72 waterfalls, including the 300 m high Staubbach Falls at the edge of the village and the Trummelbach Falls, which thunder through mountain caverns.

The village itself has several shops and restaurants, as well as a post office and two banks. There is also a small convenience store (open all week) a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Lauterbrunnen is the starting point for the cable cars and mountain railways which climb through beautiful scenery to the car free resorts of Wengen and Murren (both less than 20 minutes from the apartment) and onto the Jungfraujoch, which at 3454 m is Europe's highest railway station. The Schiltorn/Piz Gloria, made famous by James Bond is at the end of this valley.

Summer in the Berner Oberland: The Lauterbrunnen Valley is known as the valley of waterfalls and is a mecca for all outdoor and extreme sports. The short walk (1km) to Lauterbrunnen Station is the starting point to give you access to mountain railways and cable cars and the mountain villages they serve. From these villages you have an almost limitless choice of walking and cycling trails of varying difficulties. From the apartment you can walk along the river path, past the Trummelbach Falls to Stechelberg. From here you can catch the cable car up to Schilthorn/Piz Gloria, made famous in the James Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' and its revolving restaurant. Staying in the village gives you access to shops and excellent restaurants, tennis, swimming and mini-golf. The Air Glacier Helicopters run pleasure flights around the region.

Winter in the Berner Oberland: The ski and toboggan/sledding slopes of Wengen and Murren are less than 20 minutes from the apartment. The post bus stops outside the apartment and takes skiers and non-skiers directly to Lauterbrunnen station, and then trains and cable cars take you up to either Wengen or Murren. The ski season runs from December to April. There are 210 km of prepared pistes accessible from Lauterbrunnen (First, Kleine Scheidegg, Mannlichen and Murren-Schilthorn), covering beginner to advanced abilities, as well as opportunities for off-piste skiing with local guides. The cost of the ski pass includes access to all lifts, trains, cable cars and buses. Equipment is available to hire from local shops in the village.

There is an outdoor swimming pool in the village which is about 200 m from the apartment. In the winter there is an indoor pool at the Hotel Jungfrau (300 m from the apartment), which is open to non-residents. Some of the hotels also have spa facilities, for those after a little pampering. There is a communal tennis court and mini-golf less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment. In the winter, the tennis court becomes an ice rink. The view exceeded all our expectations (and we saw all the pictures and social media videos beforehand). We had everything we needed. Waking up to the delicious espresso maker and adorable coffee drinking porch spot made each morning extra special! Also, the shower was so relaxing and spacious. We were lucky to meet the owner Rob and he is such an amazing, helpful guy! He recommended a restaurant (Oberland Hotel) that served delicious traditional Swiss fondue. One funny bonus thing about the rental is right out front is a well known photo spot so we enjoyed watching everyone make memories and take pictures there. On our last day we were treated to a few inches of snow and everything looked like a winter wonderland. We were a family of 4 with 2 teens and everyone agreed this place is exceptional!"

On the bus line to either Schilthorn Cable station to ski Mürren/Schilthorn, or to Lauterbrunnen for train to Wengen/Kleine Scheidegg. Free ski bus in winter. Walk is 15 minutes to Lauterbrunnen station and is well serviced with amazing cheese, meat and bakery shops as well as ski hire, bike, hairdressing, watch and gift shops, restaurants, cafes, 2 banks, Post, petrol, Tourist office (super helpful), adventure sports booking, swimming pool, mini golf, tennis, (Cross Country ski track to Stechelberg), geocaching, and supermarket. The walk will take you longer when you take time to enjoy the Lütschine, the pretty views and sit to paint the mountains from the South facing seat near the EWL. (We think J.R.R. Tolkien painted from here for his inspiration for Rivendell in ‘Lord of the Rings’.)

With Interlaken 12.4km bike ride or just 30 min by train, there are many other things to enjoy as well as the mountains. Our studio apartment at Chalet Pironnet is super cosy, clean and comfy and has some of the most stunning views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Also very conveniently located in the village but off the main road so it's nice and quiet. You will find the train and cable car stations, super market, bus stop, restaurants, café, shops all within a 1-8 min walk along the villages charming main street.

Lauterbrunnen is the starting point for the most beautiful destinations in the Bernese Oberland such as Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn, Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg, Trümmelbachfälle. It is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Alps. (Jungfrau, Aletsch, Bietschhorn) Ideal for summer and winter sports.

- "We had the most amazing stay in Lauterbrunnen in this flat located on the ground floor of Susanne's Chalet. This flat is super comfortable with a million dollar view from the patio, den and bedroom! Susanne is just the sweetest host as well. She both picked us up from the train station and then took us back when it was time to the leave. The flat is well appointed and the kitchen has everything you need in the way of utensils and flatware. The bed was very comfortable as is the sectional in the den/living room for relaxing. For just a bit more, Susanne even provided a twin bed for our 18yr old daughter who was traveling with us. Lauterbrunnen is the perfect jumping off spot for all things Jungfrau, and Susanne's chalet is located just a short ten minute walk to downtown for food and shopping, and also the train station. There are several good dining options in town and a CoOp for groceries. The Chalet is located up a steepish hill which is no problem for those in decent shape but might be a bit challenging for anyone with mobility issues if you are planning on walking it. Same for walking into town, but worth it. The whole area is a hiker's paradise and the valley and surrounding areas are postcard perfect in the way of scenery. Cannot say enough good things about the flat and Susanne's hospitality. Would give 10 stars if I could! This accommodation was everything we wanted for our first trip to Switzerland and Lauterbrunnen."

The house is located in the lower village, above the road to Gimmelwald and has a balcony with an unrestricted view of the Bernese Alps.
