We explored some different places this time, both close to Fiesch and further away. We particularly enjoyed walking at Bellwald and the challenging drive over the Furka pass to Andermatt. We also visited Luzern, the Simplon Pass area and Zermatt, and had some quiet days relaxing on the balcony in the sunshine. Our children were especially impressed with the original 1818 ceramic ovens. The highlight for the children was the modern mezzanine balcony loft which was a wonderful extra. As the balcony loft was only accessible by a modern ladder the kids quickly claimed the balcony loft space as theirs bringing all the board games, books and i-pad to their ‘kingdom’ whilst leaving us with the whole apartment. We really enjoyed the skiing nearby in the Aletsch arena as well as in the picturesque villages a short drive away. We also enjoyed a very good dinner in the local restaurant with food made from fresh local produce and based on local specialities. Of course we couldn’t leave without sampling the different sorts of cheeses made at different times of the year in Greniols and surrounding area. Grengiols and the holiday house was really a wonderful place to soak in the beauty of nature and unwind whilst providing a great starting point to do skiing. We look forward to returning, and can thoroughly recommend this lovely property and the hosts."

Our cozy, bright 2 1/2-room apartment is located on the 2nd floor of an apartment building in the village center of Lax. Surrounded by greenery – an ideal starting point for your winter and summer activities in the Aletsch Arena. In winter, you can reach your front door with your skis or sledges on the Fiescheralp – Lax valley run. With the Matterhorn Gotthard train, you can be in Fiesch in 5 minutes right next to the gondola of the Aletsch Arena. The apartment is suitable for 2-3 people.

The space
The Lammje apartment with balcony is located southwest with views of the beautiful Breithorn. It is divided with a separate bedroom – consisting of a double bed and a built-in wardrobe.
The kitchen is comfortably furnished. If something is missing, please feel free to contact us (we live on the 3rd floor).
The living area consists of a cozy couch (can be pulled out and used as a sofa bed). There is also a TV and Wi-Fi is available.
The dining table with 4 seats is integrated into the living area.
There is a bathroom with a shower.
A washing machine and dryer are available for our guests in the laundry room. A separate storage room for skis, sleds, bicycles, etc. is available for you in the basement.

The municipality of Lax is the gateway between the Aletsch region and the Goms high valley. With its 320 inhabitants, Lax is a rather quiet place. If you are looking for a sunny, natural resort, Lax is the place to be.
Lax is the starting point for numerous bike and hiking tours and thus an ideal holiday resort for sports enthusiasts. Connected to the Aletsch Arena and in the immediate vicinity of the Binntal Nature Park, many outdoor activities are available. The ski destination of the Aletsch Arena can be reached directly by the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway and the cross-country skiing paradise of Goms is located in a train distance of 15 minutes practically at your doorstep.
The train runs every half hour towards Goms or towards Brig and Visp. In a pleasant commuting distance of 30 minutes, you can reach the Brig-Visp-Naters agglomeration from Lax.

The house is located on a sunny south-facing slope in the canton of Valais at 1367m above sea level in the quiet Martisberg, one of the smallest villages in Switzerland in the middle of a unique hiking area. The Binntal Landscape Park and the UNESCO World Heritage Aletsch Glacier are right next door. The large Aletscharena ski area is located above the house.

The space
There are two combinable apartments with separate entrances over 3 floors. The house is ideal as a retreat for two, but also for families or friends who want to spend their vacation together.
On the first two floors is the apartment "Mbri" with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and a 35m2 living/dining area/kitchen with a large panoramic balcony, terrace and garden.
Children are welcome from the age of 12, from December to Easter also younger children if the whole house is rented.
The apartments are generally heated with large wood-burning stoves and are therefore suitable for people who enjoy heating with wood. Electric heating is also available. Wifi is available. The well-equipped apartment in the Zillwald offers a good starting point for hikes and excursions. The original charm was preserved in the renovations. The furnishings were also matched to the stalk at the time.
The large terrace with seating is great for you to relax and replenish.

The space
The loft apartment with 3 bedrooms and a dining room runs over 2 floors. The lower floor can be accessed without steps. Due to the narrow entrance area, the apartment is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs.
In the large bedroom, a mezzanine has been added, which is especially passionate for children and is a popular place to sleep (not suitable for young children). Use is designed for a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children. Additional sleeping facilities are available on request.

Free parking exactly 1234 meters. Upstairs unobstructed views over the Aletsch glacier and dozens more than three and four thousand meters high.

Downstairs you can put your ski stuff downstairs. Outside you can go anywhere: Valais is sunny, nice and warm in summer and is one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland or even Europe. Every season beautiful. Active or unwind. Everything is possible, every season.

Fresh mountain air, alpine meadows, forests, hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing, skiing, snowshoeing: anything is possible. Organized and on your own occasion.

By car within 10 minutes at the gondola in Fiesch, by train or bus from Lax station, you are within 20 minutes of boarding at the top of the slopes in Fiescheralp: connect perfectly. And, although it is not often open due to climate change, unfortunately: within walking distance the official sled and valley descent to Lax. You might be in luck.

We didn't choose the name Grand View Wallis: take a look at that view from the chalet.
