The huge window is double paned, there is a small hole and crack on the outer pane, the inner pane is intact so the window is functional.
This is the main house which shares wall with a separate smaller guest unit and the onsite staff unit below with their own entrances.
The bedroom with king size bed shares wall and can hear noise from other side, the loft bedroom with queen size bed doesn't have any shared wall and is very quiet and private so please use this bedroom if concerned with the noise disturbance. Also contact host for voice disturbance at quiet hour 10p-8a.
This is a retreat center so there are people onsite including our staff.

We do NOT provide ceiling fan although it is there, the remote control is missing so it can not be turned on for now.
This is an old rustic house in the woods, not a luxurious modern house.
The washer/dryer is shared with one other guest suite.

There is a private drive way, half open garage and workshop area which has some furnitures.
There is a BBQ grill in the yard there.
We are in the rural mountains and woods so overall it is pretty rustic! There is dirt right outside the house.
It's very quiet in the mountains, music which may not seem loud in the cities can be pretty loud here especially at night.

The TV doesn't have cable, but has a HDMI cable which can be connected to a Mac laptop. As a meditation retreat center, we were not sure if we want to provide cable TV yet.

One bedroom with brand new king bed.
Loft bedroom with one queen bed, one twin bed, and a floor twin mattress. The ladder to the loft bedroom is kind of steep so not suitable for very small kids or those who are too old.
There is an extra twin mattress in the living room to sleep on.
The living room is huge with a piano by the windows.
The bathroom is remodeled, shower only no tub.
The fireplace is fantastic in a cold winter night although the central heating keeps the house pretty warm.

Our water is from a natural spring.
This can be the perfect getaway, especially for those who enjoy the nature, quietness, serenity, simplicity, sparkling creativity, contemplating spirituality, but not much for the materialistic luxury.
The house was built with the redwood logged from this forest! The original cabinets and doors were custom made with these wood.

We have a main trail on our 45 acre. The head of the main trail is right by the red Main House, just follow the paved the road down and it will become dirt road at campsite 12. It's about 45min to 1hr hike down to the end where the Amaya creek serves the boundary to the neighbor's property. On the main trail there is also a small waterfall, but it is not visible from the trail, you have to go off the trail on the left side to find it. I put pink ribbon on the tree there, but at other spots too so may not be the best sign.
Enjoy hiking, creeks and small water fall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing (deer, turkey, owl etc), star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more.
There is a private campground down with 10 min hike.

Easy commute to silicon valley companies (30 min to Apple) and fast Wifi allows working from home.
For restaurants, the closest is Soquel in the south and Los Gatos downtown in the north, or both around 20 min drive since we are in the mountains.
There is a Summit store where you can pick up groceries and enjoy an espresso bar, deli and sushi spot, which is only 10 min away at 24197 N Summit Rd, Los Gatos.

- "The view was great. General layout of cabin is comfy and spacious, pretty similar to what the pictures show. As for cleanliness, the bathroom was not cleaned very well, the hand towel looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a looong time. My brother got multiple bites over his body during our stay, and had an allergic reaction for which he had to seek medical attention. Kitchen range stopped working while we were cooking dinner because it was overworked, and we contacted the owner for assistance. They were reasonably prompt and the issue was resolved. So if you plan on doing a lot of cooking make sure to know the fix beforehand."

- Santa Cruz County quiet hours are 10pm through 8am. They will be enforced and must be observed. Outside those hours, noise levels should remain respectful of neighbors as well.

- Respectful guests only as cottage sits above main house and is in close proximity (20-30yards) on same parcel with a dog (may bark upon arrival, nothing a nice welcoming petting won't stop), not so cuddly cat, and a family with teens and a grade school child.

- Property has security cameras in driveway for safety, wildlife, and noise compliance. There are Mnt Lions, Bobcats, Skunks and Raccoons present, although you would be lucky to spot them, we must respect their habitat as we occupy it.

- Rebooking outside 30 day cancelation window can only be pushed out 13 days max.

- Ceiling and box fans for cooling, No AC. Under forest canopy, stays relatively cool unless triple digit heat waves hit.

Our guest house cottage, located on our property, is set in a private, established, picturesque garden in the Old Adobe neighborhood of Los Gatos. Our property is within a 3 mile drive to both downtown Los Gatos and Saratoga. It is also five miles from the heart of downtown Campbell. The guest house borders Monte Sereno. We are close to San Jose, Santa Cruz, and Silicon Valley. San Francisco is a one hour ride north.

We are within an average 12 to 13 mile driving distance of Levi's Stadium, Avaya Stadium and the SAP Center. Five minutes from El Camino Hospital (Los Gatos), and fifteen minutes from Good Samaritan Hospital.

We are in a quiet and established neighborhood with easy access to parks, public tennis courts, and walking trails.

The local Farmers' Markets are close-by (Saturday in Saratoga and Sunday in Campbell and Los Gatos).

We are approximately 20 minutes from San Jose International Airport and 45 minutes from San Francisco International Airport.

Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, and San Francisco are all within easy driving distances for day trips.

The generously proportioned cottage is open concept and loft-like in its layout. Due to its loft like open concept design, the stairs in the cottage and the outdoor pool, the cottage is suitable for children over the age of 12. The cottage is a separate structure with its own private entrance. There are floor to ceiling French doors at the front of the cottage leading to a beautiful patio area for relaxing in our beautiful California weather and for dining Al Fresco. The ground floor of the cottage houses the Living Room, Dining and Kitchenette. There are two Pottery Barn down filled sofas. One of the sofas is a pull out double bed. There are two side tables and a coffee table. There is WiFi, Apple TV, and Roku, (live TV is available through the Sling streaming App on the Roku device). There is a Modern Italian Dining Table with seating for four (there are an additional two chairs available if necessary). Three bar stools for the kitchen/bar counter. A console with the coffee station (Nespresso Original Line with espresso pods, Keurig Coffee Maker with K-cups, Mr. Coffee Appliance, and a French Press). There is also a compact work desk with a table lamp and chair.

The kitchenette offers a compact refrigerator and freezer, Kitchen Aid Dishwasher, microwave, sink with garbage disposal, and a high-end large capacity Breville Smart Oven. The kitchenette cupboards hold linens, dishes, bowls, mugs, and glasses; a full set of cutlery with many kitchen gadgets in a drawer as well as a stove top kettle and electric kettle. A Panini Press, crock pot, Indoor electric grill, cooler, and picnic gear are available for the use of our guests during their stay. We have stocked the cottage pantry with basic herbs, spices, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar. We also provide an initial supply of paper products (paper towels, napkins, paper plates, and plastic cups for use around the pool, etc.).

Heating is gas. The second floor has a queen bed, two night tables, a chair and ottoman, table lamps, an armoire for the towels and a chest of drawers. There is an iron, ironing board and a wooden drying rack available. We provide an initial supply of toilet paper and soap. We have equipped our guest house with amenities and comforts for your stay.

Please enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the garden. I am a beekeeper and there is an apiary at the rear of the property.

- "This cabin is, first and foremost, absolutely beautiful. Stayed with a group of friends in town for a wedding in the Bay Area, and had a lovely time. You’re literally in the middle of a forest, with stunning views and privacy. I will say though that this cabin is relatively remote and requires some careful driving - down a steep, windy road without pavement at points. Members of our group were able to get there with Ubers/Lyfts, but honestly would STRONGLY recommend having a car and being part of a group that enjoys an adventure. Well worth it, in my opinion, but definitely some useful information!"
