It is a detached house over 214 years old, which is not particularly large, but with its charm more than makes up for this fact. In addition to gas central heating and an additional gas stove with wood fire optics (€ 3.50 per unit - calculated using a gas meter), this cottage has its own router with fast and reliable internet, satellite TV, kitchen corner, shower / toilet, sofa, double bed, Table & chairs, outdoor veranda and private parking space. If you don't feel like cooking, you can order breakfast in our small restaurant, which only has 16 seats, for € 6, - and a 3-course menu for € 9, - to € 12, - per person. From your cottage you have a view of Lough Allua, a fish-rich 10km long lake that you can explore with our boats and canoes. Our traditional thatched Irish cottage is well over 200 years old and very cozy. It lies on a small mountain above the fish-rich Lough Allua and is equipped with a small kitchen for self-sufficiency. There are several holiday apartments of the same style for a total of approx. 20 guests on the property and each has its own entrance and is absolutely quiet and private. Right across the courtyard you can also order a 3-course menu, packed lunches and breakfast at moderate prices in our restaurant - so if you don't feel like taking care of yourself. All our cottages have central gas heating and the consumption is calculated with a gas meter . The usage varies a lot and the cost can be anything between € 1,- and €5,-per day . The current gas price in Ireland is standing at €4,-per cubic meter (unit price), and has to be paid at the end of your stay . Please bring your own towels, as with a full occupancy of up to 20 guests , we find it very difficult to supply them along with the bed linen and kitchen towels , which are supplied free of charge . If you are not in a position to supply your own towels , you may rent them at a €1,- a piece .

This is a large, elegant 18th century, Italianate style, Irish manor house situated in the rolling hills of the Lee valley, overlooking the medieval castle and abbey of Kilcrea.
Farran house is spectacularly set in 12 acres of mature beech woodland and landscaped gardens. The owners, John & Patricia have carried out a mammoth restoration job and the result is a luxurious, charming manor house, full of character. They opened their doors to rental guests in 1997 and haven't looked back since.
The elegant interior is full surprises. Hanging with old paintings and engravings there are exquisite antique kelims. There are interesting antique furnishings throughout the house, including a 1903 Bechstein grand piano in the drawing room and a full size billiard table in the billiard room.
All main house guest rooms have large bathrooms and beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.
