- "Great location and very nice property" - "The house was exactly as advertised and is fabulouse if you are looking for a quiet remote location. Not being familier with Ireland I wanted someplace central we could explore from. This is not that place, everything is 1-2 hr drive. Very remote and you must have a car to get anywere from here."

Set in the heart of rural County Waterford within a gentle stroll of the village of Ballyduff, The Cliff River Lodge is a truly unique property. Originally a Garda (police) station, this entire building has been fully renovated in painstaking detail to create a beautifully unusual home now available for rentals.
Guests of the Cliff River Lodge have full guest access to the Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore with Michelin Star “House” Restaurant and Wells Spa, just a 30-minute drive away, and the Concierge team can arrange for transfers to and from the Hotel.
CLIFF RIVER LODGE
There are three levels to the Cliff River Lodge, and you can enter through either of the two front doors. If you enter through the lower of the two, you will come in to the lower ground floor which is home to the kitchen and the showering area. The kitchen is beautifully handcrafted and has a modern range cooker with an induction hob. The fridge, microwave and dishwasher are cleverly concealed behind wooden cupboard doors and there is a custom-made dining table with chairs to seat up to 8 people. There is a guest toilet and wash hand basin up a couple of steps from the kitchen.
Across the hall is another space with a table and chairs along with a drinks bar.
Finally, there is a showering area constructed within the original cell of the Garda station! It is home to two shower cubicles and really is an unusual conversation piece!
Taking the carpeted stairs up to the next floor will bring you to the alternative front door. Two of the four bedrooms are on this level. Each has a king-sized bed (can be split into two single beds on request), a decorative fireplace, large windows offering stunning views, and an ensuite with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. The walls in the bedrooms and bathrooms are made from Marmorino plaster to stunning effect. All bathrooms are stocked with toiletries.
The top floor is home to the remaining two bedrooms. These too have king-sized beds which can be split if required. They each have a private toilet and wash hand basin and the showers in the lower level are for the use of the guests staying in these rooms.
It is hard to really capture the care and attention that has gone into the creation of this very special home but suffice it to say, you cannot but love it! We look forward to welcoming you and to having you stay.
OUTDOOR AREA
New additions to the Lodge give it a modern flair and these include the outdoor kitchen area with barbeque, outdoor sink and prep area. It even has an outdoor TV!
This area is also home to the laundry facilities and the chest freezer.
A safe space for your dog has been created alongside this kitchen with a secure gate, a sleeping area and a little run area so your furry friend can be safely kept here.
Under the trees to the front of the Lodge is the outdoor hot tub, almost entirely secluded from view to passersby.
The whole outdoor area has been grassed and has a little path running through it and at night, it is lit up beautifully from all angles. A truly eye-catching addition to this tranquil little corner of Ireland.
The views are just spectacular over the rolling fields and the river below.
There is off road parking for 2-3 cars just outside the Lodge and a gate into the property itself.
FISHING
Set just a stone’s throw from the River Blackwater, renowned for its salmon fishing, guests staying at the River Lodge will have access to a fishing beat, ideal for a day of adventures. The owners of the Lodge have private fishing rights to 3 miles of River close by and we can arrange for our ghillie, Chris, to bring you out so you can sample the delights.
