Loughatorick North (Eircode H62WV60) is THE location for guests that want to escape the everyday buzz. Off the beaten track but within reach of the 'Wild Atlantic' West-Coast, historic sites in East Galway & Clare, Lough Derg and the wildlife of Sliabh Aughty. We are next to Lough Atorick for swimming or fishing. The Barn is self catering and equiped for preparing simple meals, but we are happy to help out with fresh vegetables from the garden or with easy directions to the nearest restaurant!

At our place (Eircode H62WV60) there is plenty of room to park your car, caravan, camper van...or bicycle! If you come without bicycle then we have some old MTBs for 'hire' to explore the area. If you prefer to camp then you will find some nice spots in the 4 acre 'wild' garden while still availing of toilet and shower / shampoo / towel facilities for a quarter of the fee per person. The same garden is an excellent spot for table-tennis , bad- or speed-minton, football and 'soft' or 'real' archery and there is a dedicated bon-fire area and BBQ corner for guests that stay for a minimum of 2 nights.

The Barn (Eircode H62WV60) is an in 2009 refurbished shed to serve as temporary dwelling while refurbishing the cottage which worked out very well! The kitchen facilities comprise of small fridge, coffee-maker, water cooker, toaster, microwave and a double electric hob & oven with appropriate pans and pots. Outside is a small fireplace and a BBQ corner for guests that stay a minium of 2 nights. For longer staying guests and in case of persisting bad weather access can be made available to a pool table, table tennis table, dart board and a small gym.

The Barn is remote, as far remote as you can get with a car; so type our eircode H62WV60 in your phone BEFORE you head into the hills!! Our Eircode is NOT hidden in the general description so if you CHOOSE to come we expect 5 stars for 'location'! We are REMOTE but only 25-30 minutes away from Gort / Portumna / Loughrea /Mountshannon-Scariff / Feakle so still a valid and tested option in case those places are running out of rooms during festivals, parties or functions. If you don't want to cook at all then 'Peppers Bar' in Feakle (13km) or 'Walsh's Bar' in Woodford (11km) have excellent food. In Woodford, Daybreak supermarket has 'all day breakfast' and easy take-away food and Woodford Garden Centre has a coffee shop with hot and cold drinks, pastries and lunch.

Recently awarded 'Most Unique Listing in Ireland' by Airbnb! This cabin is nestled in a tranquil woodland setting, with uninterrupted panoramic views over Lough Derg all the way to the Sliabh Aughty hills in Galway. The cabin is far away from busy roads and street lights and is a haven of birdsong, starry nights and spectacular sunsets with "one of the best views we have ever woken up to". Fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom and lofted bedroom; and is suitable for all seasons.

The space
You have a seperate entrance and car parking facility. We live adjacent to the cabin but it is not overlooked.
The cabin was designed and built by Stephen (a master carpenter) who was inspired by the 'Tiny Homes Movement' which advocates living simply on a smaller scale. It is built from locally sourced timber, is fully insulated and has low voltage led lighting; all designed to increase sustainability and minimise the environmental impact. Although small in scale, the cabin contains everything you could need for a perfect holiday experience.

This is a fully self-contained living space, with a bathroom and lofted bedroom. Outdoors, there is a large wooden deck with seating for two and table. Please note that guests with mobility issues may find it difficult to negotiate outdoor steps to cabin and also stairs to lofted bedroom.

Other things to note
As the cabin is in a quiet rural area and is self-catering; it would be a good idea to stock up on supplies before arriving. Nenagh has many supermarkets and food stores and should have everything you need!
The water is really good to drink and comes from our well deep in the limestone hills.

Main bedroom w/toilet and two additional rooms, my town house has all mod cons, except TV, and is on the main Limerick Road into Tipperary. Opposite the Costcutters Petrol Station open until 11pm and 2min stroll to Corneys Pub. Free parking & great for any Galtee Walkers or Wedding guests. Bus/Train accessible.

Nestled in the heart of Ahenny, our charming 160-year-old cottage offers a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Originally built in 1850 for slate quarry miners by the Victorian Mining Company, our semi-detached, two-story home has been lovingly refurbished to retain its unique character while providing all the conveniences you need for a comfortable stay.

The house is sitting high up on a hill overlooking Lough Derg, the large lake formed by the majestic river Shannon. The front of the house is West facing and one can enjoy wonderful flaming red sunsets over the water.

The property sits peacefully and secure on the hill set back from the road, surrounded by mature gardens with native shrubs and trees. The large garden is fully fenced and secure.

Rock of Cashel is also a beautiful place to visit with stunning views, about 20 minutes drive.

Dungarvan is 1 hour drive from the lodge, beautifully town and if weather is good, you could walk/cycle the Waterford Greeneway.

Ardmore is about 15 minutes drive from Dungarvan. There is beautiful 4km Cliff walk, with beautiful scenery.

Lismore Heritage, is also a beautiful place to visit, and around 50 minutes drive through the countryside.

Blarney Castle, is 1 hour drive from the lodge, with beautiful gardens and castle.
While visiting Blarney Castle, it would be lovely to visit the English Market is Cork city, and Cobh which is a beautiful place to visit. In Cobh, you could visit the “Titanic Experience”, Cobh Heritage Centre, St. Colman’s Cathedral, and Spike Island.

Kilkenny is 1 hour drive and is also another beautiful place to visit. If you are travelling from Dublin, it might be easier to visit on your way to the lodge, as it will be on your way down.

Cliffs of Moher is 2 hour drive from the lodge. The longest drive you will probably have, however it can easily be achieved on a day drip. It is well worth visiting, with breathtaking views on a clear day.

Bunratty Castle & Folk Park is 1 hour drive is also be a nice place to visit. You could probably visit on your way to the Cliffs of Moher, as it is on your way to the cliffs on Moher.

Located 1.5 Km outside Ballyporeen on a quite cul-de-sac nestled in the scenic surroundings of the Galtee mountains and the Knockmealdowns. This old renovated farmhouse provides comfortable accommodation for anyone wishing to explore the area with its many historical sites and attractions for those who love the great outdoors. The space
Set 50 metres in from the road, this detached house is very private with plenty of parking space which can easily accommodate workers with vans. It's proximity to nearby amenities is ideal for golfers, hikers and tourists. Kilshane, Bansha, Lisvernane, Aherlow and Tipperary town are all very closeby. You will see from the previous guest reviews, that there is a very spacious country style open plan kitchen with a large dining table and chairs and a 3 piece leather suite of furniture to relax on. Separate to that, is a cosy sitting room with 2 couches, smart TV., wood burning stove and workspace desk.

Twin beds can be linked and converted into a 2nd double bed if needed (It is IMPORTANT that you specify you want this when you book so that I can configure the beds and have the correct sized bed linen in place).

There is a large lawn to the front and an enclosed yard at the back of the house. In good weather, having outdoor dining furniture at both the front and back of house will let you always catch some sunlight, depending on the time of day.

This lovingly restored traditional farmhouse with private courtyard is nestled on working farm in Dundrum. It is situated 12km from the famed Rock of Cashel and is centrally located for touring Ireland. There is a shop and pub 3km away and beautiful restaurants in Cashel and Tipperary town. We are in very close proximity to the Glen of Aherlow which plays host to beautiful scenery and hill walks. If traditional music is your thing then it can be found in abundance in many pubs locally.
