Many steps to different levels but has an elevator. The staff were superior and the restaurant and bar very nice. Walked to Charles Fort (30 minutes) and historical buildings in town. The streets to the fort have a bit of an incline. Had dinner at Man Friday which is more upscale than your pub. Had a drink at Bulman near the fort. A great staff and atmosphere. "

- "Even before we arrived we had had a phone call from Susan regarding arrival time, how to find property, etc. Susan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to ensure every single thing had been taken care of. The tea and homemade lemon drizzle, my husbands favourite, offered to us on arrival was such a lovely gesture. The house is in a beautiful setting and is spotlessly clean and so comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for Susan and the breakfast was fantastic, she even went to the trouble of getting Clonakilty sausages for the second morning as we had said they were our favourite. Clean and comfortable room with double bed, wardrobe, full-length mirror, chest of drawers and chair, overlooking a small back yard.
The house is small and cosy, and guest has access to kitchen/cooking facilities. Only one other person lives in the house, and a small dog. Please note - the bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs, if this might cause concern.

Very fast wifi all over the house.

This is a charming old terrace house in a very nice neighbourhood, that has been recently renovated and updated.

Guest access
Guests will have private use of a double bedroom, and shared access to bathroom and kitchen and outdoor space.

During your stay
I am happy to talk to guests and give them help and recommendations in the city and surrounds.
I also will respect your space and your privacy.

Other things to note
As I have a little dog in the house I would prefer someone who likes animals.

As I work in the business of English language, I cannot accept guests who have come to Cork to study English, I'm afraid.

I am not opposed to vaping indoors, but if the guest is a cigarette smoker I ask that they smoke outdoors only. There are ashtrays provided out the back.

Private entrance to a large room with en suite. No access to the house. The house is on a quiet lane among the hills.

The room is separate from the house and has no access to the rest of the house.

No kitchen. Breakfast consists of cereals and tea or coffee. Kettle is in the room. Milk in the fridge. You have a microwave too.

Galadriels Gypsy Caravan
This is very basic off-grid camping, with no electric, Wi-Fi, or flush toilet,
and no 2WD car access for the last 1.5k.
Its a remote 'Lothlorien', in the rain forest, mountains, rivers and lakes of The Wild Atlantic Way, The Beara Way & Glengarriff Nature Reserve.
Glengarriff village is a short drive or a long walk, with shops, market, restaurants, bars, live music, and the sea.
Recommend more than 1 night, to explore the place.

The space
You have a choice of two simple cosy gypsy caravans, each with a double mattress. Bring your own sleeping bag if possible. Pillows provided.
There is a campfire space, and log-shed with logs to chop. There is a basic old shed kitchen with cooker, crockery, cutlery, drinking water and sink. Outside theres a long-drop toilet and a pond for bathing.

Guest access
Skyhil is in the middle of a large natural ancient forest and mountain area -which you have direct access to: Including Skyhil Stone Circle, Cuckoo Rock view point, swimming ponds and rivers, such as The Pooleen, and wood and hill walks to Lady Bantrys Lookout, Barley Lake and Sugarloaf Mountain. (not suitable for kids 12 and under)

Other things to note
* I can sometimes give guests lifts, but encourage you to walk if poss.
* I have my own board game based on Lord of the Rings, if you are interested - let me know.
This site is not suitable for kids 12 and under as it has open water and cliff drops.
