- "I didn't realize this was a student dorm facility that apparently they rent out during the summer months. No air conditioning in the room and it was quite warm in there. Not much in the area in regard to dinning or anything else. Lots of students around being loud at night. Check-in was interesting because it's not like a regular hotel. You cannot get any closer to the city centre, and you are located just next to the old Cork walls, dating back to 1185 AD.
Park View is less than a 5-minute walk to the English Market, St Fin Barre’s Cathedral and the future Cork Event Centre. Also within a 5-minute walk is many excellent restaurants, beautiful cafés and friendly pubs offering guests a range of culinary choices from Michelin star fine dining, award-winning coffee to cosy tea room experiences.
Other things to note
The closest car parking is only 300m away in “Park It Here” on the same street as the apartments – only €5 for overnight stays from 6pm to 9am. Q-parks is also located in the Grand Parade and offers 24hr parking discounts.
Kent train station and the Air coach are very close approximately 5 minutes’ drive away. Cork Airport is approximately a 15-minute car journey away.

Welcome to my gorgeous apartment on the side of a 16th century Farmhouse overlooking Cork Harbour. Cork Harbour is a natural harbour and river estuary at the mouth of the River Lee in County Cork, Ireland. It is one of several which lay claim to the title of "second largest natural harbour" in the world by navigational area.
It is also just 3 miles away from historic Cobh. The town of Cobh in East Cork is located on Great Island, one of three islands in Cork Harbour. The other two islands are Fota and Little Island and all three are now joined by roads and bridges.
Cove as in the 'Cove of Cork' was the original name for Cobh but this changed to Queenstown in 1849 after a visit by Queen Victoria. After the foundation of the Irish Free State in 1922, the town reverted back to the current name of Cobh.
In the town square of Cobh, there is a memorial to the victims of The Lusitania, many of whom are buried in the local cemetery. The ship was sunk off Kinsale by a German submarine in 1915 and led to the United States of America joining World War 1.
Another unhappy association is with the Titanic, 'the safest liner in the world'. Queenstown was her last port of call on her fateful maiden voyage in 1914.
The harbour at Cobh has played a huge role throughout Irish history but never as important as during the Famine Years of 1844-1849. The Queenstown Story at the Cobh Heritage Centre tells us just how big a role Cobh played.

Spacious rental right in the heart of Clonakilty town
5 min walk to DeBarras, Shanleys bar and all the other local bars and restaurants.
Each Friday, the Clonakilty market sets up in Emmet Square (1 min away)
They have many food and craft stalls to enjoy while strolling through the park.
Inchydoney, Red strand and Long strand are just a few of the beautiful beaches along the coast here.

The space
The apartment space is part of a duplex (2 floor) apartment.

The main apartment entrance (note the apartment number in my address) brings you into a hallway which is the rental space (see in photo).
We live in the upstairs part of the apartment and would be using the same hallway to go upstairs to our space.
The rental floor has a double bedroom, a shower room, a living space, there is access to a private balcony.
(All rooms have a key).

The neighbourhood is quiet as the apartment faces the back of the building.

It is a 4 min walk to the main street where you will find all the cafes, bars, restaurants & shops.
I'm happy to give tips on places I have enjoyed in West Cork.
It's a great town with a great community of friendly West Cork folk.

Dawstown house is located a 7 minute drive outside the lovely village of blarney. Blarney itself has many attractions such as the Blarney Stone, Golf resort, Woolen mills and plenty of amazing restaurant but is also conveniently located a 20 minute drive from Cork City.

The room itself has a comfortable double bed, 3 velux windows with panoramic views of the land. This room is very private as it’s located at the top of a spiral stairs on its own a floor in the attic. En-suite bathroom included.

The space
Our lovely home is located on a working dairy farm. Guest are welcome to go for a walk in the fields after 6pm. However we ask you are kind to the animals and respectful to the land.

With panoramic mountain views, this apartment is a peaceful getaway and the perfect place to unwind. You'll find yourself central to many West Cork towns including Skibbereen and Bantry within a 20 minute drive and Drimoleague and Dunmanway within 10 minutes. Surrounded by scenic hikes, walks, lakes and rivers, there is no shortage of activities for those who like to keep active, but the fire and sunroom are also perfect for those who'd rather cosy up & relax.

The studio has a fully equipped kitchen which includes a full sized oven, electric hobs, dishwasher & microwave. There is a dining space to the rear of the kitchen along with the cupboard which holds the washing machine and dryer. The main living space is made to feel light and airy during the day with comfy armchairs for sitting back and enjoying a drink or watching tv and then cozy at night with a large double bed. The bathroom is fully accessible with additional rails available upon request and contains a wet room shower.

This is a attached annex with its own private entrance. There is a sunroom off the main house which guests are more than welcome to access from the outside door. Guests are welcome to have full use of the front garden and patio area which includes a picnic bench.

Other things to note
The property is surrounded by scenic walks and hikes for all fitness levels. The Nowen Hill walk begins from the front door of the property. The walk is through a working farm therefore if the animals are in the fields, the walk may not be accessible. Please ensure to speak to me before doing this walk so I can advise the best way to go.
