- "Our first trip to Ireland was for a month. We were looking for a city and area that would represent the culture well and show the beauty of the land. We chose Galway City as it is around 80,000 with a university and some stunning walks and views and pizazz in general. We searched the Internet and came upon Arus Grattan Apartments in Salthill. After contact by email and questions answered we made a deposit many months in advance and booked in for most of the month of June 2010. We were stunned by the beauty of the area, the quality of the apartments and the sheer convenience for walking, transit, groceries and Guinness. The host was fantastic at serving our needs and answering questions and much was prepared ahead of time in the way of information. From this beautiful place of Salthill we were able to walk to the centre of Galway easily. We also were picked up and dropped off when we ventured to Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. We did many local things as well including the weekly markets, the Claddagh and cruising the River Corrib. My thanks to the host and owner of Arus Grattan and my apologies for taking so long to write this. You truly made a long lost person of Irish descent feel right at home. We like to think of this apartment as the ‘captains quarters’ due to it’s gold tones, foam green sofas, wood effect kitchen cabinetry, and black/grey wood flooring and wall colour. Quite strong in character but very comfortable and welcoming.



The apartment is over two levels. Striking lime, grey, and black carpet greet you immediately as you walk up the stairs to the first level and you know that you are walking into a stylish apartment. The living room is open plan to the kitchen and dining area, a great gathering space and has water views. Green velvet sofas offering comfortable seating, coffee table and a large flat screen SMART TV which gives you access to your Netflix account is great for watching a movie or planning your Irish adventure.. Or why not chill out on our window seat with a good book, maybe a glass of vino, and take in the harbour activity..

- "We had a very comfortable stay! Great location. close to the rail station and the sites to see in town. The place was perfectly set up for our group of four. During the booking process I did not see it mentioned there would be three flights of stairs into/out of the building. If it's not on your listing, please add it. For us it was not an issue but it would be a disaster for anyone with a mobility issue. We were able to figure out the laundry machine but it might be nice for future guests to have some easy to follow instructions. The checkin and check out process was very smooth. in the centre of the liveliest city in Ireland. Galwegians and our visitors don't go to
bed very early very often! Galway is
famed for it's entertainment, particularly it's traditional music. The city plays host to
guests of all ages and while peak tourist
season is May-September, there's almost
always something happening in town. The
Latin Quarter, where we're located, is a
lovely quirky old part of town, that tends
to be busier in the evening than during
the day. I recommend that you bring
ear plugs and maybe watch a video
about inserting them correctly. There`s

Very cosy 2 bedroom apartment located in Salthill, Galway. Very very close to the promenade and the beach. There are 2 banks near, one organic shop, one petrol station with a launderette. We are located behind the Circle K gas station with a grocery/wine shop. Across the street you'll find The Huntsmann Inn pub & restaurant with local beverages and great food! Also 5 mins from us there's Wellpark Retail Centre with shops, restaurants and cinema and 4mins to the right you can go see dogs racing or enjoy a rugby match! :-)
