We checked in and found a radiator in the hallway that was leaking. We couldn’t get any hot water or heating. After a 6 hour drive we really wanted a shower! I messaged Petra and heard back and found out the flat runs on meters. Gas meter was fully out and the emergency credit was out. So at 9pm on Monday instead of offering to come and top up the meters we had to wait for a shower until the following morning for when the cleaner arrives! Toilet seat had broken, mattress was hard and uncomfortable, we had curtains at least! In the bedroom shelving was coming away from the wall so not safe. Then mid week we had a water engineer turn up in the morning asking to read the meter! No one told us he was coming but he also said that he couldn’t get in hold of the management company at all so took his chances. Says everything really! Overall the flat needs some tlc, it’s looking tired, un level flooring in the hallway to the kitchen and a generally needs money putting into it. Also there is no info book for basic housekeeping and what to see and do In Edinburgh. Fortunately we know Edinburgh but would have loved abit more info of the immediate area of Leith! I’ve emailed in detail all this to Petra to avoid leaving this review. Still no response. Will be escalating this to hotels.com as it’s simply not as advertised. Do not stay here if you can help it! My place is in located in heart of Leith, lively district with a variety pubs, caffes, resteurants, galeries. It is only 25 minutes walk to city centre and plenty of buses or tram will take You there in no more than 10 minutes. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids). Apartament is very quiet and neighbourhood with small park just on the corner is perfect for some quiet time after busy day out in town.
