Other than the windows being transparent in regards to sound because they were shutters instead of glass, it was overall a good stay. There is no Uber in this city so you would HAVE to rent a car or have transportation. Uber will bring you from the airport but they do not operate outside of San Juan really. I liked the seclusion from the noise of the city and easy access to the highway and nearby beach. Would definitely stay there again. "

- "The view, the view, the VIEW! Could not get enough of it. Fernando and Margarita are wonderful hosts. Very easy to reach and quick to respond to our questions. The house had everything we needed. The weather was very hot during our stay so we really appreciated the excellent air conditioning in the bedrooms. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots/pans, utensils. Cabinet is loaded with spices which was great as we like our spices! We really enjoyed the downstairs kitchen with grill. Mar Chiquita beach is only a 2 minute drive. Other public beaches are not too far away. Plenty of places to shop and eat nearby as well. The central location made it especially convenient for us venture out to both ends of the island. It was wonderful to be able to end our busy days back at Villa Illusion where we could relax, enjoy the pool, and listen to the ocean sounds. Amazing comfort and welcoming surroundings in this great beachfront condo. Private balcony overlooks the sand and water PLUS you have a private terrace with direct access to the beach. Fully-equipped condo that requires you only drop off your bags and get out and have fun. Private, gated, intimate complex of only 20 units. The famous Mar Chiquita Beach is a few minute walk down the beach. Be sure you watch our video for a birds-eye view!

- "Took a nice long trip to P.R. We stayed at the condo for 10 days. Access to the property, pool and beach is super easy. The views of the beach are absolutely amazing! The condo is spacious, well decorated and very comfortable. Mar Chiquita Beach is a short 5 minute walk and a beautiful view. Be advised the water is somewhat rough, lots of waves and currents at both the condo beach and Mar Chiquita. And, there is a little hidden cave right across from the entrance to the condos-your own mini cavern. Condo: needs more plates, bowls and silverware. There was only a set of 4 and they did not match so we had to clean them constantly. You can get a set at Walmart (Corningware for inexpensive addition). They are nice and durable. More cups would be better too. The unit had sufficient amount of baking and cookware. A/C units functioned very well, kept us cool. The property Manager, Alejandro was most helpful in providing directions to the property. It is a gated complex with security guard so we felt very safe. There is local grocery store just a 5 minute drive from the condo. Or, Walmart is a short distance away for anything you might need (Subway, Burger King and local fruit stands nearby). This is a lovely getaway and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, quiet, and majestic view worthy experience."

Mar Chiquita beach has been declared one of the natural reserves in Puerto Rico!

Our property has the best view in the area and is a 3-5 minute walk and 1 minute driving to the public beach (Mar Chiquita). This beach is considered a Nature Reserve in Puerto Rico. There are only 12 other nature reserve areas in Puerto Rico. In the vicinity, there are three other beaches really nice too! (La Poza de las Mujeres, La Esperanza beach and Los Tubos beach).

From the beach property, you have a spectacular 180 degrees ocean view from the outside terrace! You can enjoy the ocean breeze, moon, and stars in the sky from the outside deck!

The house has an indoor living and dining area, a family room with smart TV, cable connection, and free wifi internet access. It has a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, electric stove/oven, toaster, coffee maker, etc.

The first bedroom is the master room, with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom. The second room has 1 bunk bed (twin/double) and an additional twin bed in the same room. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed. The bathroom is located between bedrooms 2 and 3. All rooms have ceiling fans and air conditioning, as well as a dresser and double closets. The family/TV room has a queen-size sofa bed, air conditioner, and ceiling fan which can be used as a fourth bedroom.

There are a covered ocean front terrace, an outside deck, and a BBQ grill area in the garden of the property. In addition to air conditioners in bedrooms, the house has ceiling fans and operable windows with screens.

Amenities: tabletop games, linens, towels, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishes.

There is an outside garden area for smokers since there is a no smoking policy inside the house.

The grocery store and bakery is within walking distance of the house. One minute by car! In this bakery, you can eat breakfast, lunch, or take away food.

Our villa is very close to more than 7 beautiful beaches like Mar chiquita, playa Puerto Nuevo, to surf 🏄🏼‍♀️ playa los tubos, Playa poza las mujeres, playa las golondrinas and the closes one in playa Esperanza is a reserved place open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and many more beaches around to drive from 5 to 7 minutes.

There's bike trails, surfing, snorkeling, night life, Casino, prime outlets, and much more nearby. The house has a big open layout with spacious and cozy rooms, all with air conditioning units. The Hacienda is great for family gatherings. The house is designed to fit 13 people comfortably. Hacienda Mar Chiquita has an open layout, which makes the house very comfortable. There are lots of fun things to do, you will be able to experience life like the locals do. We have very comfortable rooms, beds and beautiful beach decor all around the house. Please see bedroom layout arrangements so you can best accommodate your guests. Bedroom number one(Los Corales/Corals) is the Master bedroom which has a walk in shower and queen size bed. The 1/2 bedroom connects both rooms. In the 1/2 room there is a queen size bed, these two bedrooms share the same entry door and are divided by two double doors for privacy. These two rooms are great for two couples or a couple and two children. Bedroom number two (El Faro/Lighthouse) has a full size bed. Bedroom number three (El Nautico/Nautica) has two full size beds and two twin beds. Bedroom number four (Surf up) has a King size bed and a queen bed. In the open area layout there is a boat bed with a twin size mattress that sleeps one extra person (this area does not have a/c unit). Please see pictures for more details. The house is fully equipped with all essentials, all kitchen appliances , pots and pans. Laundry area with washer and dryer is also available. Wi-Fi and alarm security system is available. My neighborhood is unique because we are 3 to 10 minutes away from 4 beautiful beaches. Hiking and walking trails that lead you to a secluded beach. We have nearby places to eat , walking distance 2 restaurants and food trucks.. native authentic foods and a food market/bakery where you can get groceries if you wish to cook at home.Parents with infants should bring portable crib/play yard. Any damages or stolen property will be charged from the security deposit fee of $800. Children under 18 are not allowed on the bar swings. The use of the bar swings is at your own risk (max weight capacity 220 pounds). Parents must be responsible for their children. Any injuries to children and/or adults is under your own responsibility.
1. Smoking is NOT allowed within the house. It is only allowed on outside open spaces, no buts on grass or open terraces floor.
2. People other than those in the Guest party may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property will have a cost of $30 per person per night.
3. Property owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, falls, drowning or illness that may occur while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting the reservation, it is agreed that ALL guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises..
4. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order
5. Only use appliances for their intended uses.
6. Pets are NOT allowed.
7. At bedtime keep gates and doors locked with keys provided and alarm activated on stay mode.
8. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units. If daily housekeeping is requested, an additional $95.00 per day will be charged. This requirement must be agreed and paid off in advance before staying in the beach house.
9. Loud noises are not allowed after midnight. There is a serenity ambiance municipal regulation in the Mar Chiquita Area. After midnight police patrols the area and would fine guests for loud noises.
10. Illegal drugs and/or HEAVY drinking are not permitted on the premises.
11. Guests should be 21 years or older if staying in the property. Minors should be accompanied and have adult supervision at all times.
12. If in need of an additional night a fee of $335 per night will be required, given availability.
13. When the bedroom air conditioning is not being used, PLEASE keep it turned OFF. When using a/c's keep all bedroom doors closed. Each unit is designed to cool its specific area.
15. Parking: Vehicles are to be parked in the property driveway. It is required that the front gate be kept closed at all times.
16. Septic tank: The property is on a septic system. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged for the cost of damages/services.
17. Storage area: There is a main storage area located in the hallway which will be maintained locked at all times. No one is allowed to open or to be tampered with.
18. We do not have control of the weather, If there is a storm or hurricane during your stay no refunds will be given.
19. There is no phone hard line at Hacienda Mar Chiquita. (Need to bring your own mobile phone. AT&T and T-Mobile have excellent coverage in the Island however Sprint has the best coverage at the Metropolitan Area (San Juan).
20. The 7% tourism tax has already been added to the total price. There is a guest book with all the instructions that you need to know, emergency contacts and recommendations of places to visit and places to eat. A PDF file is sent to the guest one week prior to arrival with all the information you need to know for your stay.
21. Trash needs to be taken out the night before your check out to the front curve in the main entrance. Please take the trashcans that are inside the garage and dump them to the blue ones that are outside in the front curve so that the municipal trash company can dispose of it . Bring back the trash cans that belong in the garage. If trash is not taken out the night before check out we will be charging the guest a $30 fee for disposal.
22. Beach towels CANNOT be left filled with beach sand! Please shake them off and put them to dry in the clothes liners in the back patio.
23. For check out, we strongly recommend you follow through with the check out instructions.
24. Solar Panels: These are to be used correctly. From 8am to 4pm panels are being solar charged. This will charge the powerwall in case the power goes out you will not be affected. When leaving the home on a daily basis appliances and a/c's need to be left OFF this will guarantee that the powerwall fully recharges
If these instructions are not followed and a power surge occurs you may be affected. Owner will be in contact to give correct instructions.
25. Above ground pool: There are no life guards! Parents need to keep children supervised at all times! Hacienda Mar Chiquita will not be held responsible for any slips, falls drowning nor any injuries.... You use the pool at your own risk! No diving glass or food inside the pool

I think instructions on the location of the property should be a little bit better. The location was very convenient, very close to Mar Chiquita, Vega Baja. It was easily accessible from main roads. The space the magnificent and for the price it was great ! The pool and patio with hammocks were great for leisure. The outdoor showers and bathrooms were great as well. Only suggestion I have is a book with instruction in the home about the home , including the wifi password , how to work the AC and where trash should go. We have also renovated the bathrooms and have included a bidet in the Master Bathroom.

Come and enjoy the spacious balcony with two high top tables with chairs and two rocking chairs to sit and relax and take in the beauty of the ocean. This property also includes a Private Patio with a gate leading to the beach, a granite BBQ grill, outdoor shower, another sun patio outside the gate to sit and take in the sun while someone is laying in the hammock on the beach between two palm trees.

Our building is conveniently located next to the large inground pool/patio for you to enjoy a swim or to sunbathe. This condo is 5 minutes walking distance on the beach to Mar Chiquita Blue Lagoon where you will find another beautiful beach area with Puerto Rican food/drink trucks and vendors. You can snorkel right off the beach or just rent a chair and umbrella and take in the breathtaking view of the Lagoon while you enjoy a delicious pina colada.

I didn't even realize it had a pool but the best part was when we saw the pool maintenance guy coming in to clean it the following day we checked in. Excellent up keep of this home. Had many extras that we loved and enjoyed. Taxis are difficult to get in the are so I do recommend renting a car. Noise from traffic at night can keep you up due to the home being on a busy traffic street but overall amazing experience and very near to shopping, food, major highways. Excellent Stay.
