Ski out is either cli ming up the hill or a short walk or driving around the corner to ski area.
There are hundreds of lakes within just a few miles to fish and canoe, and many different trails for bicycling, atv riding, jeep trails, and much more. The Grand Mesa is the perfect getaway for any season with so much to do in them all. Mesa also is only an hour away from Grand Junction, Colorado, and bigger 'city' attractions, as well as the Colorado National Monument, Fruita, Colorado, the mountain biking capital of the world, and Palisade, Colorado, known for its wineries and vineyards. Powderhorn Ski Area is now offering lift tickets to the top of the mountain for mountain biking.

We decided on the Palisade area to visit Grand Mesa, Colorado National Monument and the Peach Festival. This lodge was the perfect home base. The house is spacious without feeling too big, it's comfortable, and the view out the north-facing windows is amazing. It's also far enough from any neighbors to feel private without being so far out in the wilderness that you feel like you're entirely on your own. The property manager was also welcoming and responsive to our questions. It's about 45 minutes from Grand Junction one way, and only about 15 minutes from cool, aspen-covered mountains the other way. Located adjacent to the Grand Mesa National Forest with outstanding views, gateway to the Palisade Plunge, Grand Mesa Nordic Skiing, Powderhorn Resort, hiking, biking, wildflower walks, fishing, and hunting. We are a short drive to Palisade Wineries, distilleries, and breweries.

You'll have the entire spacious, well-equipped home to yourself with plenty of privacy. Two bedrooms provide comfy queen size beds. Two full baths (one with a large soaking bathtub) at opposite ends of the house allow for plenty of privacy. The spacious living room has a sofa bed and gas fireplace which makes it an ideal space for families, couples, or small groups.

Relax with a cup of coffee or glass of wine at the beautifully designed kitchen island. The spacious kitchen invites gatherings, offering brand new appliances, cookware and more.

Massive windows let in light and warmth while gorgeous sunrises and sunsets await you. Built in 2019 the house is incredibly energy efficient, and climate controlled with central heat and air.

Come and go as you please with a keyless entry pad. A secure garage is provided for storage of bikes and skis.

Vini's Place is located in the Cool Creek Cooperative Neighborhood, a small innovative cluster of homes within walking distance of the village of Mesa, Colorado. Vini's home is completely private with friendly neighbors there to assist you!

Situated in the stunning Plateau Valley on the Western Slope of Colorado, the area has something for everyone, no matter the season.

Visit during the winter and spend your days alpine skiing or snowboarding at Powderhorn Resort, an easy 15 minute drive from Vini's House.

The Grand Mesa National Forest is accessible in 20 minutes from the house for snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding and cross-country skiing through breathtaking forests and alpine terrain. After your winter adventure, return to this cozy home, fire up the gas fireplace, warm up, and unwind.

Summer offers many activities from peaceful, easy, wildflower hikes to world class mountain biking. Choose from beginning mountain bike trails suitable for all ages, to the lift supported downhill mountain biking at Powderhorn Resort. For the experienced mountain biker looking for world class terrain, check out the epic Palisade Plunge, easily accessible from your home base at Vini's Place.

The Grand Mesa has hundreds of lakes for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Try the Crag Crest Trail for a fun hiking challenge.

And just thirty minutes away you can enjoy the Colorado River and a Jet Boat Tour or a leisurely float trip for the whole family.

Grab groceries at our local Mesa Bloom Market, a short drive or walk from the house, or take a reasonable drive east or west to sample the great food and breweries that Grand Junction and the Hot Springs Glenwood Springs have to offer.

A trip to Palisade to explore Colorado's renowned wine country (and summertime peach paradise!) is always a must! Palisade is also the perfect spot for bike tours and catching some great local music.

A Bar U is a newly renovated cabin with a spacious common room complete with a breakfast nook and a 360-degree wood fireplace. A Bar U has two upper-level decks: one with a six-person dining set and the other with an outdoor lounge set. No matter the season, the decks provide serene mountain views and are perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets, seeing wildlife play in and around the pond, stargazing and communing with your friends and family.

A Bar U has a master bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a large bunk room and bathroom on the lower level. With one queen bed and two full-sized bunk beds, the bunk room comfortably sleeps 4 people. The lower level also has a common space with a sitting area around a wood burning stove, storage for personal gear, and a writer's desk. The lower-level porch has a picnic area for additional outdoor dining during the warmer months.
