- "The hotel was unique. We enjoyed our stay very much. With all the antiques and history we felt like it took us back in time. Was very enjoyable. The owner Paul was super nice. Gave us all the information and direction we needed for a great stay. We would stay there again!" - "Rooms have some character with some unique decorations. Staff on check-in very friendly and brought my suitcase up the stairs. They need to work on amenities. Had a single small bar of soap (size ok, as know there's lots of waste with short stays) but had to transport from sink to/from shower. The shampoo need work. Just left one packet for a two-night stay that had no maid service (I'm OK with no maid service, again as there's lots of waste). But just one pack of shampoo and in a package that can't be opened without using a sharp object. People coming here ride the train and expect might get dirty. So let's leave enough supplies for the whole trip - and change the shampoo packaging. Now I did call down and they did promptly bring additional supplies. I just think I shouldn't have had to ask. They also need more attention to the breakfast offerings. The first morning I had the last Pop Tar (and threw out 2 empty boxes). Nothing brought for the next day. And on the second day, OJ was down to a measly 6 oz left. Need more attention in keeping the breakfast supplies stocked."
