- "This is our ninth stay at this hotel. For our family, this hotel holds many cherished memories. Its luxury, consistent service, and ever-evolving grand and dramatic presentations and events bring new discoveries with each visit. Although the rooms themselves have started to show a retro feel, similar to the Sheraton in America, it seems to be a consistent concept maintained in their operations. Notably, in the Marriott group in Miyazaki Prefecture, and throughout Japan, most rooms have drinkable tap water. This is remarkable and feels nearly impossible outside of Japan. During our stay, we encountered an issue with the room lighting, but the maintenance staff at the Sheraton responded within minutes. We still felt the luxurious ambiance we experience with each stay. The hotel has laundry facilities, a convenience store, and top-notch restaurants. They also offer various activities to keep guests entertained (this time, there was a complimentary offer of marshmallows and coffee that paired well with them). Although it was raining when we arrived, it soon turned into splendid sunny weather. Even in the rain, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and after the weather cleared, we fully appreciated the ocean view from our room. Free parking at the front of the hotel and you definitely want to rent a car. The train and bus service in Miyazaki is subpar. Basically no matter where you are going to stay. You will need a car to go somewhere. Part of the reason Miyazaki still maintained its natural beauty. Well, if you happened to have a bad weather that day and really don't have a car. Get the dinner reserve for that day. I learnt my hard lesson. They have restaurant service but reservation only and no exception. The restaurants in the area are not exactly follow what Google maps post says. So, good luck. 🍀 Just call before you head out. And 7-11 and Lawson are closeby about 10-15 mins walks. That's why rent a car it worths the trouble. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but with a nice retro charm to it and I love the rooftop onsen. It is awesome in the morning time when the weather is permitted. The staff are nice but I feel that they are a bit play by the book a bit too much. If they can lax the rules a little, I could have better experience. Not that I didn't. Just would be more comfortable. "
