A beautiful small stone house, located 300 meters from the historical hamlet of Abbadia Isola where you can find the abbey with the same name, built in the year 1000 on the via Francigena, a restaurant and wine bar. Continuing 2km by foot on the antique via Francigena, you come to the Castle of Monteriggioni, whose suggestive outlines can also be seen from the house.

Swimming Pool
In the large garden with a grass field in the English style, protected by high hedges, lies the swimming pool, surrounded by fruit trees (plums, cherries, pears, apples, walnuts) and many ornamental plants. The pool, which is for the exclusive use of the guests of the house, is 11 meters long and 5 meters with, with a depth of 1.20-2.00 meters, with optimal water quality, and a diving board. Across an easy path though the fields and alongside the woods, you can bike to Monteriggioni in 15 min or walk there in 30 min. The last part is uphill, so you need good legs ... but the nice view and an ice cream at the castle will repay the effort!

It was especially hot and humid while we were there, so the AC in the kitchen, one bedroom, and attic were appreciated and utilized. The mosquito screens on the windows were another bonus!! Barbara was an excellent hostess, she was wonderful in communicating with me, and had detailed instructions on everything you need to know about the house. We would love to stay here again, and if we make it back to Siena and the Tuscan region, we will call Barbara!"

Casa Laura is an independent apartment in a restored farmhouse Agriturismo la Magione that is situated on an agricultural estate on a hilltop at about 300 meters above sea level. It offers a wonderful panorama of the surrounding countryside with fields, olive groves, vineyards and woodlands. The gardens and the swimming pool are set inside the olive grove next to the farmhouse. The house is divided into three apartments, one of which is rented year round and the other occupied by the owner and his wife and sons.

Private entrance to the apartment is into the open plan living/dining room with one wall occupied by the modern kitchen which is fully equipped with gas range, electric oven, fridge with freezer, washing machine, American Coffee machine and tea kettle. To one side of the kitchen is the living/dining room with comfortable seating and sofa.

Through the kitchen is a short hallway with three doors. At the end of the hall is the door to the double bedroom with antique wardrobe and matching wrought iron double bed. The weee extremely pleasant and helpful. They gave us great ideas on where to eat, cities to visit and excursions to do. Ettore set us up with reservations at a local restaurant that was amazing! It was a true Tuscan local experience. He also recommended seeing specifics parts of Siena and other local cities that he recommended over Florence. We followed his recommendations and he was so right. At the last minute we tried to get into a cooking class but it was full. However, he was able to make a call and got us into a wine tasting with lunch at a local Chianti vineyard. Again, everyone enjoyed it immensely. The accommodations were spacious and very comfortable. The swimming pool was great! We have already decided that our next trip to Italy will include at least a week or more at this property. It was truly terrific!"
