A few words about the property

"Kamari" in greek means "Pride".

Kamari Villa was built in 2007 on the South West coast of Naxos, Island of Apollo and Ariadne.
The villa is 18 km away from Naxos town ( Chora ), approximately 20-25 min. drive on the main road.
In the middle of a 4000 m2 property (half of which is planted with Olive trees), the house is only 150m away from a 3 km beach , (extending all the way to Mikri Vigla).
The traditional Greek island element, that can be sensed straight away by the visitor, is enhanced by the presence of an 17th century white Chapel, that luckily exists inside the property. The owner has made sure that the little dream like church has it's own entrance and stone built back yard where ceremonies can take place.
The only natural boundary separating the villa from the shore, is a beautiful salt lake (Aliki). Many different species of birds use the lake as a shelter, making the landscape even more unique.
The cedar forest of the greater area is well known as one of the biggest and most interesting in Europe and tourists all over the world visit this natural attraction of almost 800000 square meters, just to enjoy the view of trees coming out of the sand. Due to this forest, the whole area is protected by EU Natura 2000 program, as a wild life shelter and therefore, hunting and free camping is forbidden all year long.
Although, just a few miles away from the most touristic beaches of Naxos ( Ag. Prokopios, Ag. Anna, Plaka, etc. ), Kamari Villa is located in one of the most peaceful, quiet and private areas of the South coast, where the guest has the luxury of totally relaxing, living in nature, without missing out on any of the contemporary comforts.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that in many cases, one could enjoy a morning or late evening swim in the beach in front of the villa, completely by themselves…
Moreover, the guest has access to quite a few other beaches in walking distances (500m-1.5 km), varying from private little bays surrounded by rocks, to long sandy beaches next to the cedar forest.
Kamari Villa was built according to the rules of Cycladic architecture and was decorated by the owner himself in a minimal style that is inspired by the old, traditional houses, found in two of the most beautiful and historical mountain villages of Naxos: Apiranthos and Filoti (the village that the owner originates from).
The Villa consists of 3 separate two room apartments , 1 huge shared living room, 1 playing room, 1 little warehouse, 2 large closed verandas and 1 big terrace covered with pergola on the ground floor, 2 covered balconies and 1 open air terrace on the 1st floor.
The different verandas, balconies and terraces offer a truly breathtaking view of the sunset, the Aegean sea, the salt lake and the island of Paros, right opposite to where the property is, making the whole living experience, simply unforgettable .
All areas (400 sq. meters in total) are available and can be used by the guests.
Each one of the three apartments (2 of them on the 1st floor and 1 on the ground floor), has its own entrance and consists of a large bedroom w/ queen size double beds, one bathroom w/shower and one studio room with fully equipped kitchen and additional single, bunk or sofa beds.
The 1st floor apartments have got their own private balconies.
The main living room (80 sq. meters) has also got a separate bathroom, a fully equiped kitchen with pass and access to 3 different verandas, one of which can be used as an outdoor dining room.
There is also an indoor dining area, a TV/lounge area and a library/music/chill out area.
The main living room is connected to the upper floor apartments with an indoor staircase.
Finally, in the playing room, located in the basement, guests can enjoy table tennis all day long in a safe environment with a separate bathroom and kitchenette.
Even though, the fresh Northern Cycladic breeze is more than enough to keep the house cool all through the summer, all bedrooms and main living room are fully air conditioned.
Wi-Fi broadband internet is available in all main areas of the villa.
The ground floor apartment and main living room are wheelchair accessible.
The house is equipped with TV sets in every apartment and a Smart 40” TV in the main living room, a mini stereo hi-fi system, blue ray DVD player and of course all indispensible household appliances (Washing machine,dish washing machine, filter coffee and espresso coffee machines, multi blender, water boiler, micro wave oven, 2 electrical ovens, 5 refrigerators etc.).
There is a -large enough for 7 cars- private parking area within the property.
Although we strongly recommend that you rent a car, which will be useful for your daily excursions (Naxos is the biggest Cycladic island and it really takes days if not weeks to explore all its beauties), there is public transportation every hour from 8 am-8 pm and a bus that takes you to Naxos town. A bus stop is right outside the property, on the main road. A very nice market is just 100m away ready to serve your everyday shopping needs and stays open from 8am to 10pm.
The guests can have lunch or dinner at one of the 5 taverns nearby, (2 of which in walking distance), including the famous “Axiotissa” tavern, just 3 min drive from the house, which has been voted by critics as one of the best taverns in Greece.
All restaurants offer delicious traditional dishes (Naxos is well known for its great cuisine) all cooked with fresh Naxian products.
For your everyday needs, there is a mini market, just 150 meters from the house.
The owner is a music writer, orchestrator and record producer, living in Athens and speaks fluent English and adequately good French.
He will be available and more than happy to provide any kind of information needed regarding the house, the area and life in Naxos in general.
He strongly believes that the actual feeling of living in this home cannot be described by words or captured by any photographic lense.

The house is very convenient, it is made of 3 studios with their own bathrooms and toilets (and kitchen), a large living room in common with American kitchen so we could leave all together with no space issue, and the view from the living room is just incredible. The house is in front of Paros and very close to a beach where you will see lot of kite surfers. There are several others beaches very close (less than 10 mins with scooter or car) which are the most beautiful of the Island according to me. The house is 25 mins from the airport or 35 mins from the port but there is a minimarket at 100m which is just perfect with everything. You can go there with the eyes closed. Enjoy !"

Naxos Beach House is located at the end of Plaka (beginning Orkos). It lies in a bay, so the sea is like a lake and mostly very quiet. Plaka Beach is a 7-kilometer-long beach. The end of Plaka Beach is one of the most quiet parts where you can relax completely.

About a 20-minute walk from the house, there are taverns, a supermarket and beach bars. Towards Orkos there is the beach Mikri Vigla where you can find a windsurfing and kiting centre and two supermarkets. This beach is about 15 minutes' walk away.

Naxos

The beautiful, historical Island of Naxos is located in the centre of the Cyclades. It is more fertile and green than the other Cycladic Islands, so it is an agricultural island, famous for its many tasty local products like olive oil, thyme honey, wine and unique cheeses.

On the west side, a 14-kilometer stretch of sandy beaches makes it an ideal place for families with children. For those who enjoy adventure, the island also offers activities such as kite surfing, windsurfing or SUP. You can also take a horse riding tour or enjoy a guided hiking walk on the Island.

Naxos has a lot of historical places, several archaeological sites, and a rich culture. The diversity of the island offers many landscapes, and all of these make it worthwhile to explore. On the quiet east side of Naxos we rent four cottages built in the traditional way of natural stone for 2-4 persons each. Here you can relax and unwind and immerse yourself in the Greek way of life. Each cottage, with a total of 60 square meters, has its own veranda with a magnificent view of the Aegean Sea. The house is divided with a curtain into a sleeping area with two single beds side by side and a living area with kitchenette, natural stone fireplace and pull-out sofa bed; the bathroom is furnished with marble tiles and shower. Between the houses lies an additional shared kitchen with wood stove and an electrical stove with oven. There is a washing machine that can be used by guests. You can spend the hot hours of the day in a vine-covered, shady pergola; in the evenings you can enjoy the magnificent starry sky of the Aegean. The Meltemi North winds, which blow almost constantly in summer, usually keep the temperatures relatively low. At the beach directly in front of the property or at one of the many other beaches in the area you can have a refreshing swim and enjoy the water and the sun.
The cottages are located on a property of 7000 square meters with vineyards, olive trees and vegetable gardens, from which we are happy to provide our guests with our organically grown vegetables and fruits, depending on the possibilities of the season; you can also taste our homemade delicious wine.
Directly in front of the property lies a small, very clean and quiet sandy beach, where you can also enjoy snorkeling and discover the diverse underwater world of the Aegean sea.
If you like hiking, you can explore the diverse, charming island of Naxos on many old paths and visit numerous interesting sights. - "It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful spot. It’s all the way across the island from the port of Naxos, about an hour’s drive. The house itself was charming, with a view not to be believed. The little beach was steps outside the door. There’s a small town on the water less than 10 minutes away with the most lovely and friendly taverna which serves seafood that they’ve caught themselves. Astrid was a wonderful host, we’d find vegetables from her garden outside our door every morning. We absolutely fell in love with the island, the people, the cuisine…we can’t wait to return."

The room was beautiful, the bed was super large and comfortable, clean and had truely stunning views of the ocean. Breakfast was an array of home cooked pitas or cakes among many other things, but the dinner was home cooking Greek food at its finest. While we were on the island, she provided transportation to and from the ferry port; hand-wrote many recommendations for places to visit: restaurants, bars, beaches, etc.; and helped us to arrange a rental car; and gave us itinerary options for exploring the island. There were so many personal touches and helpful tips that were greatly appreciated and she made herself available at all times. The villa we rented was lovey, quiet, and close to the beaches we planned on visiting and a short distance to Naxos Chora. We were able to walk easily to many places and to call for taxis as needed. It was also incredibly clean and serviced daily which was a first for us and so nice. The property was clearly new and there is some nearby construction but it did not impact our stay. We are very excited to visit again and see how the area continues to develop, and of course, to see Eirini again. A lovely Cycladic villa with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, that sleeps 8 comfortably, with a small private pool, 150 meters from the beautiful sandy beaches of Naxos Island''s amazing west coast. On the entrance level you enter the villa via the fully fitted kitchen/dining area, air conditioning and double doors leading out on to a garden terrace. From the kitchen, stairs lead up to the master bedroom with a queen sized double bed, fitted cupboards, air conditioning and double door leading out on to a terrace with fantastic views. Stelida is located at one end of Prokopios beach, one of the best blue flag beaches in the Mediterranean, just a 10 minute walk (800m) from the villa. The beach has amazing sand, crystal clear azure water, tavernas on the beach and beds/umbrellas for hire. There is also some beautiful little beaches 150m from the villa.

A 20 minute (1.5km) walk brings you to the resort of Aghios Prokopios. Here you can find grocery stores, mini markets, restaurants, bars, ATM, car and bike rental, and a small aqua park. There are plenty of water sports and activities including a scuba diving centre (P.A.D.I.), windsurfing etc

A short walk from Prokopios brings you to Agia Anna resort with restaurants, cafes, bars, ATM, car hire, a small port and a great sandy blue flag beach popular with families.

Further along the coast is Plaka beach resort made famous by the hippies in the 70’s and 80’s, the 4 kilometer long sandy beach is surrounded by sand dunes and rare cedar forest. At the back of the beach are many tavernas & restaurants to suit all tastes, There are plenty of water sports and activities including windsurfing & horse riding. A frequent local bus service links all three resorts with Chora the main town of Naxos.

Naxos averages more than 12 hours of sunshine a day in the summer months and almost no rain in June, July and August, and was recently voted the 6th best Island in the world by reviewers.

Please note you will be renting the owners home and not a hotel. A cleaning and laundry fee of €200.00 is payable in cash on your arrival. A small lane leads you to a quite area where the house stands, only 40 meters away from the marvellous blue flag beach of Agia Anna.
The first scene is the large veranda with pergola (20m²) where a table and chairs waiting for you to relax and enjoy any time of the day.
The main entrance gets you to a small hall that leads to the interior designed in a way that you have the feeling you can separate the whole house in two areas. The traditional décor of the interior architecture and the unique floor that is been made from Aegean stones, give the house a warmth feeling.
On your right, there is a large open dining and living area with table and chairs, a traditional built-in bed (2 persons sleep comfortably) and sofas, an open fireplace, flat screen TV with DVD player. Adjacent there is a small cute and well-equipped kitchen, with fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven, dish washer, coffee maker etc. All this area is fully air-conditioning. In this part of the house there is a large bathroom with a washing machine. A double door gets you on the front veranda.
On the other part of the house there are two bedrooms and the second bathroom. The first bedroom has a large double bed and on the second bedroom you will find two single beds which can easily turn into a double bed. Both have wardrobes and air conditioning.

The house is complete with all amenities and a full kitchen with oven, washing machine and everything. The bus stop to Naxos/Chora is 50m from the house, so renting a car is not mandatory. We loved the beaches Again Anna and Agios Prokopios, although they are very much 'privatised' by sunbeds... Restaurants all along the beaches, mini markets, the pier with boat excursions to Koufonissia at 100m, etc. Perfect for a family of five, and the location is great for teenagers as they can have their own schedule :). We had a good communicator with Rania and she was very helpful. Highly recommended !"
