She let us stay a bit longer than check out because of getting stuck in the mud near by. It felt fairly clean but we didn’t feel comfortable using the coffee maker because there was water in it when we arrived, stuff was dusty and there was no soap to use. The manager responded to messages easily at first but once we arrived and had a couple questions she ended up never replying. I would still stay here again and there is a nice coffee shop down the road!"

The Sky Valley Chateau is a classic mountain lodge constructed of heavy timber and moss-rock and features large expanses of glass to take in the mountain and valley views. The lodge is located within a mile of the Routt National Forest, close to Rabbit Ears Pass with its hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. We are 5 minutes to Haymaker Golf Course and its winter Nordic skiing, and 10 minutes to Steamboat Ski Resort, Howelsen Ski Area and Ice Arena and downtown Steamboat's restaurants, nightlife, and numerous shops.

Designed for large groups, this 10 bedroom, 11 bathroom (includes one half bathroom) property sleeps 32 people comfortably across three floors. Each room features a private bathroom. The expansive three story lodge consists of abundant indoor and outdoor living space which includes a large wet bar complete with seating, a pool table, foosball table, TVs, a 5 burner propane grill, a moss rock covered two-story indoor wood burning fireplace, a reading nook, and a private outdoor hot tub.

LIVING AREAS

The main lodge living space on the second floor is sure to capture your attention. There are three walls of floor to ceiling windows that bring the mountain and forest views into focus. The great room on the second floor boasts an 86" smart TV. The third floor has a sitting area consisting of 4 La-Z-Boy chairs. There is also a dedicated section for the foosball table and a quaint reading nook consisting of 2 oversized leather chairs.

KITCHEN AND DINING

The newly renovated kitchen on the first floor is a Chef's dream. It boasts Viking and Forno Professional appliances. The kitchen was designed with large groups in mind and an added bonus is the refrigerated drawer and freezer drawer to the left of the gas range. The kitchen opens up to the large dining hall with seating enough for 24. A true gathering space.

WET BAR

The newly renovated wet bar on the second floor adjacent to the main lodge living area is simply breathtaking. Wet bar features a custom log dining table with seating for at least 12. Subzero commercial fridge and freezer combo and built-in Subzero wine fridge will keep your beverages frosty. There is also a built in ice machine in the wet bar.

BEDROOMS AND BATHS

Sky Valley Chateau has ten bedrooms with newly renovated en suite bathrooms.

On the first floor there are two rooms. Room #201 features a king bed and a trundle bed, which is two twin beds. The bathroom in Room #201 consists of walk-in shower. Room #202 has two queen beds. The bathroom consists of a tub/shower combination.

The second floor has two rooms. Room #203 has a king bed and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Across the hall is Room #204. This room boasts a king bed and full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Rooms #203 and #204 can become adjoining rooms via a central hallway.

On the third floor, there are six rooms across two wings. The East Wing has two rooms: Room #205 and #206. Room #205, boasts a king bed and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Across the hall is Room #206, which features a king bed and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Rooms #205 and #206 can become adjoining rooms via a central hallway.

Four rooms are on the West Wing of the third floor: #207, #208, #209, #210. Room #207, is perfect for families. There is a king bed as well as a twin over twin bunk bed. There is a full bathroom with walk-in shower. Room #208, has two queens and two fulls with expansive glass windows facing West. There is a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Room #209 has a king bed as well as a twin bed. There is a full bathroom with walk-in shower. Room #210 is a West facing room features two queen beds and the full bathroom has a walk-in shower.

There is a restroom just off of the bar area on the second floor for convenience.

OUTDOOR AREAS

The expansive stamped concrete patio is equipped with a 5 burner propane grill and ample outdoor seating and access to the private 16 person hot tub. Roast marshmallows on the fire table on the patio.
On the second floor, off the pool table wing is a small deck with a table and seating for three that faces West and overlooks the entrance to the Sky Valley Chateau.

EXTRA AMENITIES AND DETAILS

Guest amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the lodge, HULU TV in the main lodge area and kitchen, and a washer and dryer available for guest use. Driveway parking is available for up to fourteen cars. Easily access the lodge with a keyless secure door code. The lodge is professionally cleaned and the linens are professionally cleaned and pressed by a linen service. You can expect all of the comforts of a fine hotel including shampoo, soaps, paper products, towels and linens.

Our on-site owners provide an extra level of security and can offer custom group services where needed while affording you the degree of privacy you desire.

The Property:
First, we really need you to know - photos just can't show you how amazing the views are, and they can't match the feeling you get when you spend time here. It really is breathtaking, and this home is so welcoming, so warm, you're going to remember this trip forever. Bella Vista Lodge is one of 3 homes located on the Estate's grounds. While the other two homes are privately used, Bella Vista Lodge is the only one available for short term rental. That means you'll have exclusive access to this special home and its one of a kind amenities! The Lodge has over 5000 square feet of space to enjoy, and that's just the indoor space. This includes a Great Room, a Game Room, a Living Room, and a Den. Your group will have 5 private bedrooms. Each bedroom has either a King, a split King, a Queen, or 2 Queen beds. The two rooms with split King beds can be set up as a King or as 2 Twin beds. There's also a sleeper sofa in the den. So, the bedding situation works great for any group, whether you have a close knit group of guys or gals who need their own beds, a group of couples who want to cuddle on a cold night, or a mix of couples, singles, and kids. Each bedroom has its own dedicated bathroom, and the fifth bathroom is accessible directly from Bedroom 5 as well as from the Den. There is also a half bathroom off the Game Room, and of course there's a mud room and laundry room too. The kitchen was recently renovated, and is equipped for large groups. For example, there are 2 crockpots, 2 waffle irons, and not only are there two coffee makers, but there are also 2 coffee carafes, something you just might need for your corporate retreat in the mountains. These are only a few examples of how the kitchen and the home itself are great for groups both large and small. The dining area seats 10 and has a bank of windows to let you enjoy the incredible panoramic views. In the summer, you'll want to take advantage of outdoor dining, and there's more than enough dining tables for groups of 14 to dine together out on the deck. Adjacent to and adjoining with the kitchen and dining areas, you'll find a living room that includes 2 leather sofas and a wood burning fireplace. Together, they create a nice large space where your group can gather. The Great Room is truly a great room, a place your group will love spending time together. It features large picture windows framing incredible views, vaulted tongue & groove ceilings with exposed beams, and a wood burning fireplace fashioned from real river rocks. This all combines to create a very nice vibe, but this room also includes a full bar, a high top table for 8, a comfy sectional sofa, and a large high definition smart TV. In the Game Room you can shoot some pool, play shuffleboard, or see who can get the highest score on Mrs. Pac Man, while also interacting with everyone in the Great Room. Lets not forget to mention the hot tub. Some vacation rentals have a shared hot tub. Fewer have a private hot tub. This one has a Grotto. This room has a bank of windows that allow you to enjoy the panoramic views, so even though the custom built hot tub incorporates boulders and stones, it definitely doesn't feel like a cave. That said, this room definitely is the kind of place where you can relax and feel comfortable, cozy, and protected from sometimes harsh weather outside. Enjoy the best of both worlds!

– No Gatherings or Events: In the past, all three homes on the Estate were rented together for weddings and large events. That's no longer the case. Events are no longer permitted, and the other two homes are now rented long term. Bella Vista Lodge is the only home available for short term stays. The Location:
Bella Vista is located halfway up Rabbit Ears Pass, just shy of the National Forest boundary. Keep your eyes open for wildlife. Conveniently located off US Highway 40, but protected from highway noise by a vegetated ridge, you can count on easy access to the ski resort and town, with frequent plowing during snowstorms. The Steamboat Ski Resort parking is only 6.7 miles down the road, and downtown Steamboat Springs is only 8.7 miles. In less than 10 minutes, you have all the conveniences of the city, but get to come home to a truly amazing locale.

Arrival, Accessibility, and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you before, during, and after your stay. We will provide you with arrival instructions, local information, and answer any questions you might have. Accessing this property is easy, though it is not wheelchair friendly. A half flight of stairs (5 steps) separate the entry and mud room from the main level. The main level is split, with the bedrooms, bathrooms, game room and living room 3 steps above the great room, kitchen, dining room, and grotto. The lower level of the home is one flight of spiral stairs below the main level. The parking is outdoor and you'll have space for 8 vehicles. While occupied motorhomes or campers are specifically prohibited, there may be separate onsite parking available for unoccupied trailers. Please contact us prior to booking or immediately after booking to confirm if you will have a trailer. When traveling during snow and winter weather conditions, 4 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive and tires with good tread are recommended.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. We all enjoyed the large hot tub. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The primary bed is very tall and requires step stool. The kitchen is well stocked and well laid out. We did take a Keurig and Nespresso. The game room was very nice for the teens. We did have trouble with the fireplace in the TV room. You must use the firestarters and there were not left for us. Once the maintenance person gave us the firestarters it worked great. The maintenance person was very knowledgeable and friendly. He did not have any luck with the TV. We were unable to get youtubetv to work. Even the teens could not figure it out. The property managers were very responsive and a great help with any questions. The directed us in the use of the lockers that come with the property and that was such a great bonus. The problem came when I informed them possibility 2 extra ten year old may sleep on the couch. This request was denied. Our family has been skiing for over 50 years. We have taken our kids, youth groups and now our grandkids to almost every ski town in Colorado. NEVER have I been told that a child could not sleep on the couch, of which there are several in this house that even an adult could have slept on. Children have sleep on the floor in a sleeping bags for years. Outside cameras verify the number of persons. I was flabbergasted! Be warned."

In full disclosure, this condo lives like a one bedroom and is represented as a one bedroom because open loft bedroom prevents privacy and allows to noise will flow from room to room. Best for single or couple.

Attic level on third level is full height and has queen bed and full bath however is accessed only by a ladder with 200 lb weight max and requires careful use at renters risk. The attic area is fine for brief-stay overnight guests or getaway but not for ideal for continuous live-in use.
