- "Our stay at Eugene’s listing was great. We had a few hiccups but Eugene was an incredible host and navigated us through the slight hiccups. The hot water ran out on our first night but Eugene promptly provided troubleshooting steps that resolved the issue for the remainder of our stay. The home is cozy, quaint, and exactly as depicted. It’s also very clean and spacious. It is near train tracks with cargo trains running periodically throughout the day and night but it didn’t bother us. I myself am also fascinated by trains so that probably was a highlight for me where it might not be for others. Check-in Procedure:
One key that opens the side porch door will be placed in a lockbox on the side porch door. Additional keys can be found in a glass on the pub table on the second floor. The combination to the lockbox will be sent to you in a message prior to your check-in date. Set the four dials to those numbers, and push down on the spring release lever to the left of the dials to open the lockbox. Please DO NOT remove the lockbox from the door. Just close the cover and change the numbers. This key will not work on the front door.

Check-out Procedure:
Place one key in the lockbox, close and lock the box. Additional keys should be placed in a glass on the dining room table on the second floor.

The Thomas Wallace House in Petersburg is one of the most historically significant homes in the nation. On April 3, 1865, President Lincoln met here with General Grant for the last time. They reshaped America's future in this home. This is where the peace began! HISTORY
In 1865, Petersburg had just fallen and they awaited news of the surrender of Richmond, while discussing future plans for a reunified America. While Thomas Wallace had been an ally of President Lincoln’s in Congress, his wife was cousin to Confederate Lieutenant- General Abrose Powell Hill who had been killed in battle the day before. Though stricken with grief, the family welcomed President Lincoln and provided for seating accommodations for him and General Grant near the front door, where they conferred for hours before the ultimate surrender of Richmond. This is where the peace began!

Aside from the Wyatt House, every home worthy of a sitting President and his top General on the West side of the once bustling historic Market Street had been demolished except the Wallace House.

The Henry Lofts - Unit 2, two BR apartment provides everything you could possibly want; elegance, style, convenience, exposed brick walls, and a kid friendly second bedroom with an arcade gaming system. Bring your furpal because you have a fully fenced pet friendly yard to go along with private parking. This historic building was built in the 1800's but completely renovated with all new appliances in late 2024. Walk to the local breweries, restaurants, museums, bakeries, and coffee shops in your back yard. Minutes to VSU and Fort Gregg-Adams

- "The Henry loft is a very attractive property inside and out. Modern interior/ art and amenities with convenient parking lot located behind the property. The bathroom is gorgeous. The room with bunkbeds had very comfy mattresses and a cool arcade game. I loved that the property was pet friendly. We did not bring a pet this trip but there is a large fenced in yard that any dog would love. Demolition Coffee is right across the street behind the property, great coffee and muffins. Buttermilk bakery is a block away, yummy doughnuts. The host, Casey, had a binder with restaurant and attraction recommendations nearby. The binder was a lovely touch, we went to many of the places recommended and were very pleased with them all. The Henry lofts are located a few blocks from Old Towne Petersburg. The area is so quaint with many antique shops, boutiques, restaurants, and historic buildings. My family thoroughly enjoyed exploring it.The area seems to have many renovations taking place with new shops and restaurants coming soon. Even as obvious tourists my family and I felt very safe roaming the areas around the Henry Lofts. We accidently locked ourselves out of the unit one day and Casey was there to let us in within minutes. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend The Henry Lofts to any and all wanting to visit the area. Thank so much Casey for a lovely stay!"
