We love to cook and entertain so we have a well-stocked kitchen, including basic spices, EVOO, balsamic vinegar and just about every utensil and baking/cooking tool we could think of. BRING YOUR OWN: paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, towels (bath/beach/dish), sheets, pillows, and blankets. There is a coin laundry room for $2 per load (same for wash or dry) under the building if needed (it is kept very clean). TV sets in living room and bedroom with basic cable and streaming capability.

Our kitchen has been renovated, offering new cabinets, counter tops, flooring and fixtures. The bedroom is freshly painted with newly installed carpet, offering a queen-size bed, 26' flat screen TV, and a full master bath. The bunk beds in the hall alcove are perfect for children & located next to a second smaller full bath. Both baths have been partially remodelled. The living area has new flooring and has been freshly painted. The large living room allows for very comfortable accommodations, offering new furniture, a queen sleep sofa and two swivel chairs, 42' flat screen TV, Bluetooth stereo, and DVD player. There is a book and DVD library and some games. Free WIFI. A fully equipped kitchen includes all major appliances and every small appliance you will need for dining in. Duckburgh is an updated one bedroom and two bath condo located just seconds to the beach din Duck, NC. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach! Being steps from away the ocean, beach, and pool allows you to easily walk and not worry about lugging beach equipment and toys in a cart or a car.
Our condo is on the 3rd floor with fantastic, expansive views of the Atlantic ocean and beach in the Colony by the Sea Condominiums. You can often see dolphins from the newly renovated 10x14 deck. New porch swing added in 2024.

Duckburgh offers a master bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized (new in 2018) bed, hallway twin bunk beds, modern kitchen, two full bathrooms (new in 2018), two flat screen TVs with cable and Xumos (similar to ROKU) (living room and master bedroom), pull-out couch, DVD player, WiFi, Keurig Coffee maker, drip coffee maker, ceiling fans, dining table for 4, keyless entry system, and much more. For 2024 we updated our deck to include a wrap around railing, new screen door, and a deck box that contains boogie boards, sand toys, and beach chairs for guests to use. All windows/blinds and sliding glass door were replaced in 2025. Brand new shower floors in 2025 also!

Please note our condo is on the third floor of a three story building with stairs and no elevator- we do have wonderful views! The property is built on pilings to manage potential floods and there are 17 steps per flight of stairs.

The beach is only steps away from our condo! Our condominium community has many amenities. There is a pool (unheated), outdoor grills, basketball and tennis courts (bring your own balls and rackets), pool side restrooms, oceanfront showers, gazebos, and coin operated laundry facilities under the building ($2.00 per load - same for wash and dry).

Duckburg is located just minutes away by car, 15 minute walk to the town of Duck, which has some of the best Outer Banks restaurants, shops and a sound side boardwalk. Bring your bikes -it is easy to bike into town with the bike lanes! There are bike racks at Colony by the Sea.

Corolla is about 10 miles away and has more restaurants, shops, go karts, miniature golf, and plenty of activities for children. The grocery stores are 6-7 miles away.

Remember to bring your own towels, sheets, pillow cases and other linens you may need. You do have the option of renting all your linens. If you like - I can recommend a company that will deliver and pickup all your linens. The company also has other beach and baby items you can rent, if needed.

While the resort itself is Beachfront this unit is located in the 400 Building (see property map in the pictures section), and is very close to the outdoor pool area.

From your 3rd floor and 4th floor unit you have excellent views of the Courtyard, main Pool area, and the Ocean.

It is possible to walk to the Resort’s private Beach access, but since this is a large 24+acre property that stretches from Sound to the Ocean, it can be a longer walk to the beach from certain sections of the resort versus other areas.

There is a parking area right near the Outdoor Pool and Beach access. This private parking area is reserved for Resort guests where you can conveniently drop off your family, or even park in the spaces provided if one is available.

STAIRS / ACCESSIBILITY:

Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.

Almost all the units at this resort have a certain number of stairs leading to the Front Door of the unit. Some have interior stairs to a 2nd level, or depending on the specific unit configuration, as few stairs up or down to one of the bedrooms inside the unit.

BIS-Duck Resort will provide assistance carrying your baggage to your unit if you would like some help.

UNIT INTERIORS:

This property was originally constructed in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Recently a $8+ Million dollar renovation project was started, and expected to be completed in phases.

Before the renovation started, most of the unit interiors were spacious and comfortable but very dated.

Please note this specific unit in the 400 Building section has been partially renovated. This unit has received new Flooring throughout, new furniture in the Living Room and bedrooms, new window coverings, newly painted in all rooms, and the Kitchen has been refreshed (although countertops remain the same). The Master Bath also had the large garden tub replaced with a Walk-In shower.

This listing covers multiple units of the same 2BR/2BA unit type / same unit layout. The renovations were the same for all the units, so the photos provided do accurately portray the interiors of the upgraded units but may not be your specific unit (depending on the week you book). I have also added photo(s) at the end of the interior photos that were taken inside some of the upgraded units by resort management. These also show the new flooring, furniture, newly painted interiors, etc.

The benefits offered by this resort are the overall amenities, including one of the largest Outdoor Pool areas on OBX, private Guest access to a nice Beach, and a Recreation Center offering an Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Workout Room, and Activity Room.

This property is definitely one of the most unique on OBX, with direct access to the both the Beach and the Sound, and in very close proximity to the many shops and restaurants in the Town of Duck. You also benefit from these spacious units being priced lower than comparable options of the same size in the area.

Many families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires more luxurious accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you, and you might want to consider one of the more expensive listings on VRBO.

Then the following morning you will need to go to the office by 11am to get officially signed in and receive your parking passes, information, etc.

The resort itself is Beachfront and this specific unit located in the 800 Building (see property map in the pictures section), has an outstanding location right next to the large outdoor Pool with views from the unit and the outdoor deck. This 800 Buildings are also the ones closest to the Beach.

From your 1st floor unit you have one very large deck, with a direct view of the Pool, where you can enjoy watching the Sunrise over the Ocean and the Sunsets over the Sound every afternoon. Then there is another good sized deck on the other side of the unit with a Resort / Garden View also offering views of the Sunsets over the Sound. Great outdoor space available with this unit.

From the 800 Building it is possible to walk to the Resort’s private Beach access, since these buildings are closest to the beach. However, if you have a lot of beach gear, or small children, your best option might be to drive to the parking area right near the Outdoor Pool and Beach access. This private parking area is reserved for Resort guests where you can conveniently drop off your family and gear, or even park in the spaces provided if one is available.

Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.

This property was originally constructed in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Recently a $8+ Million dollar renovation project was started, and expected to be completed in phases.

Until the entire renovation is completed, resulting in every unit interior being renovated, you will find most unit interiors are spacious and comfortable but very dated with decor from the late 1980's or early 1990's.

While personally I would describe this overall property as very laid back, relaxed, and comfortable, it is important to note that these units definitely have more of a rustic, almost like a dated cabin at the beach type feel, with older furniture and carpets. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.

The benefits offered by this resort are the overall amenities, including one of the largest Outdoor Pool areas on OBX, private Guest access to a nice Beach, and a Recreation Center offering an Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Workout Room, and Activity Room.

Please note that if this unit was renovated the nightly rate would be quite a bit higher. Many families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires more luxurious accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you, and you might want to consider one of the more expensive listings on VRBO.

However, since this specific unit is located at one of the highest points of the property, there are outstanding panoramic views of the Ocean from this unit from both decks. There are also panoramic views of the property and town of Duck. The view type category would be considered “Garden / Ocean View.”

It is possible to walk to the Resort’s private Beach access, but since this is a large 24+acre property that stretches from Sound to the Ocean, it can be a longer walk to the beach from certain sections of the resort versus other areas.

Your best option might be to drive to the parking area right near the Outdoor Pool and Beach access. This private parking area is reserved for Resort guests where you can conveniently drop off your family and gear, or even park in the spaces provided if one is available.

Ocean Dream is a beautiful and well-maintained Georgetown Sands condo that has everything you and your family will need for your vacation. The kitchen was recently remodeled with stainless steel appliances, new cabinets and countertops. Everyone will enjoy the two sun decks off of the mid level living and dining areas. Both en suites offer private baths and deck access.

The resort is situated on the outskirts of the quaint and charming barrier island town of Duck, N.C an area that delivers endless ocean views, fresh local seafood, and a laid-back atmosphere perfect for a relaxing beach vacation.

THE SPACE

At this property guests have access to a range of resort amenities, including an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, tennis courts, and playground area for children.

All the 2BR/2BA units at Ocean Pines are 2 level townhouse style condos, with an attached parking garage / carport. The first level is where both bedrooms and both bathrooms are located, with the Master bedroom having a private bathroom and private deck. The second level is the main living space, with a full Kitchen, Dining Room, Living room with Fireplace, and another outdoor deck off the Living Room area.

All two-bedroom suites include a Full Kitchen, Fireplace, and two Full Bathrooms. King bed in the Master bedroom, two Twin beds in the second bedroom, and a Queen Sleeper Sofa in the living room. Private outdoor decks on the 1st and 2nd level. You will also have access to your own Washer / Dryer unit in the utility room off the your parking garage.

This unit is rated to sleep 6 comfortably, but if you have extra children, or members in your group, you can bring an air mattress for extra bedding, and turn this unit into a sleeps 8.

GARDEN VIEW / RESORT VIEW CATEGORY:

The Ocean Pines resort provides direct Beachfront access, and this property stretches from Ocean to Sound, providing access to both. However this specific unit is not Oceanfront or Ocean View, and there is no view of the Ocean from the windows or outdoor decks in this unit. This unit is located in the D Building (see property map in the pictures section), and is very close to the Beach access stairway and ramp down to the Beach, it's almost outside your Front door. So you won't see the Ocean from your unit, but you will have easy and convenient access to the Beach.

UNIT INTERIORS

Since this property was originally constructed in the 1980's, you will find most unit interiors are clean and comfortable but a little dated. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.

The benefits offered by staying at this resort includes being in a great location inside the city limits of the Town of Duck, and all the dining and shopping options only minutes away, having easy and convenient beach access, having access to a nice indoor pool / recreation area, and being able to book this at a price point that offers good value for a family friendly budget. This unit also provides a Full Kitchen and Washer / Dryer inside your unit.

Many families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires luxury accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you. If you have any specific questions on this please don't hesitate to ask.

STAIRS / ACCESSIBILITY:

Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.

So almost all the units at this resort have a certain number of stairs leading to the Front Door of the unit and interior stairs between the 1st and 2nd level.

This is a Resort Condominium property. Guests will have their own private unit, but Pool, Hot Tub, other Amenities, and common grounds on the property will be shared with other Guests.

Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this minimum age requirement for the primary Guest who will be checking in. - LATE CHECK-IN Instructions:

- Barrier Island Station - Ocean Pines Condominium complex is professionally managed onsite by Capital Vacations. - The attached Carport / Parking Garage that comes with this unit can fit two vehicles (at no additional cost). If you need parking for an additional vehicle you can arrange this directly with the Front Desk, but there may be an additional fee.

- Bedding linens, blankets, pillows are provided, as are bath towels. However if you need additional items for bedding, pillows, or blankets / comforters during your stay, please bring your own, as the Front Desk will NOT be able to provide extra bedding or pillows.

- Although basic bedding linens, blankets, and pillows are provided, I highly recommend you bring some of your own if your family members have their own favorite pillows or blankets.

- If you plan on using the Sleeper sofa during your stay, I do personally recommend (if possible) bringing sheets, blankets, pillows, maybe even a mattress pad for the Sleeper sofa specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable extra bed.

- If you or your family owns and likes larger Beach Towels, I recommend bringing them, along with any other Beach Blankets / Beach Chairs / Umbrellas / Coolers, etc, type equipment you want at the beach. If you don’t bring your own Beach equipment you can rent this in the Duck area.

- Please remember upon your arrival you will find a "Starter Kit" in the unit, which is intended to get you through until you are all settled and able to get to the store. It will include...Toilet Paper - 1 roll in each bathroom, Paper Towels - 1 roll in the Kitchen; Coffee Filters, a couple packs of Coffee, and 1 small bottle of Dishwashing liquid / Dishwasher detergent.

GARDEN VIEW CATEGORY:

Garden View Category: This unit will be located in the 600 Building (see property map in the pictures section), basically the middle of the resort property. This is a 2nd floor unit.

There is no view of the ocean from this unit, and the view type category is considered “Garden View.” Of the 115 total units at this resort, approximately 75% of them are considered "Garden View," which can also include a view of the grounds, other buildings, or the parking areas.

It is possible to walk to the Resort’s private Beach access, but since this is a large 24+acre property that stretches from Sound to the Ocean, it can be a longer walk to the beach from certain sections of the resort versus other areas.

If you have a lot of beach gear, or small children, it might not be practical to walk to the beach from this unit in the summer heat (between 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile depending on unit location). Your best option might be to drive to the parking area right near the Outdoor Pool and Beach access. This private parking area is reserved for Resort guests where you can conveniently drop off your family and gear, or even park in the spaces provided if one is available.

While personally I would describe this overall property as very laid back, relaxed, and comfortable, it is important to note that these units definitely have more of a rustic, almost like a dated cabin at the beach type feel, with older furniture and carpets. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.

The benefits offered by this resort are the overall amenities, including one of the largest Outdoor Pool areas on OBX, private Guest access to a nice Beach, and a Recreation Center offering an Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Workout Room, and Activity Room.
