Gentle Breezes is family owned cottage of 30 years and is located in the heart of Duck. It is Oceanside but not on the ocean front. The house does not not have a view of the ocean but you can hear the ocean especially at night. Our house is located in a safe area for walking to the beach and it only is a few minutes walk from the house with no busy streets to cross. Only neighbors and their guest are allowed to use the beach in front of our neighborhood. There are life guard stands placed in strategic places along this stretch of the beach with lifeguards on 4 wheelers observing the activity on the beach as well in the water. No fires are allowed on the beach at any time. There is a charcoal grill which you can use downstairs on the patio. No grills are allowed on the upper decks.
You will find that our cottage is very clean as our cleaners do a thorough job sanitizing between guest stays.
The bedrooms consist of 3 Queen beds and twin bunk beds. with a pull out twin
new mattress under the bed. Sheets and towels are provided for a small fee There is an open lot on the deck side of our house belongs to our neighbors and has been designated as a Sanctuary for animals such as deer and rabbits, and to protect the plants that grow there. Please do not trespass on their lot. There are no houses close behind us making for more privacy. We recently put new floors all throughout the whole house and there are freshly painted bathrooms as well as in the downstairs area in the laundry area. ,There are new light fixtures and new ceiling fans as well as other upgrades that are in process. There are new kitchen cabinets and new mattresses on the beds. The exterior of the house is being replaced sometime this year and we will be replacing the deck if time permits. We have kept our rental prices down by being conservative with doing repairs with the cost of materials going up. Our house is in a great location for getting to the beach and the town of Duck . The ocean can get rough at times so please beware of rip currents and keep a close eye on children and pets. You can also let your dogs off leash on the beach as long as they stay with you. There are sand stickers mostly in the grass so beware with pets and small children walking in the grass and tracking them into the house. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas at Atlantic rentals which is close. There is a rental bike place as well as a rental spot for golf karts. We hope you have an enjoyable and safe stay. There are many things to do in Duck as well as Corolla Beach town 15 minutes north of Duck. Lots of wonderful restaurants but they are much cheaper at lunch time than at dinner . Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help make your stay in our home as pleasant as possible.

FAQ:

WHERE IS HOUSE AND HOW DO I GET IN ? Once the last payment has been made, usually scheduled three weeks before arrival date, you will be sent address, unique entry code for your week, and other pertinent information on house. There is a 90 day 100% refund.

HOW FAR ARE YOU FROM BEACH? As far as the location of house to beach, please see posted pictures and captions. One picture was taken from house showing ocean access between a yellow and a gray ocean front houses. The second picture shows a close up of access showing same houses. I hope that made sense. Its about a football field walk to beach and a football and half to Sound.

WHEN IS CHECK IN CAN I GET AN EARLY CHECK IN OR LATE CHECK OUT? During summer season it is almost impossible to get an early check in/check out. We stay booked Saturday to Saturday and our cleaners have a very small window between 10 am and 4PM to clean and prepare multiple houses. If renting in off season, contact me and we can review. We do ask that you help our cleaning staff and leave house and neat and clean as possible

ARE LINENS AND TOWELS PROVIDED? You have the option of bringing your on linens or we can provide for a $75 service fee. This included all sheets, pillow cases and bath towels and washcloths. Comforters, pillows, blankets are provided regardless

WHEN DOES POOL OPEN AND IS IT HEATED? Pool normally opens up the middle of April and closes the middle of October. It is not heated and depending on weather and tolerance can be used in those months.

CAN I BRING MY PET? Although I am a pet lover and have dogs myself, due to the short turn over time on Saturday mornings, there is no time for extra cleaning for any pet issues. If you are renting on off season, contact me and we can discuss possibility of allowing pets. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions.

Great cottage, within the village of Duck, access to the beach (300 ft.) and the sound. This pet free cottage has 4 bedrooms, (king, queen, double and twin bunks). Large deck to include a flying deck. Recently updated interior, full kitchen, cable, Wi-Fi, additional TV for gaming, laundry, covered parking (for 1), driveway and pad for additional parking, charcoal grill, elevator (for luggage etc., not for people). The community boardwalk makes beach access very convenient, this community also has access to the sound, for some great fishing, kayaking and stunning sunsets. Nearby Duck has some fine restaurants (like Red Sky...wow, great food and good beer!), many (many) shops including several that rent bikes and kayaks, and Kitty Hawk Kites does jet ski and parasailing activities.

On the first level there is a game room with foosball and dart board. There is a private bedroom twin beds and private bath. Also included is a TV and VCR. There is a washer and dryer on the ground floor behind an enclosed area. Right off the game room outside is a Hot tub.

On the second level there are three bedrooms, two with queen beds and a full bath and another bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. Two bedrooms have deck access. On the deck is a swing and seating that over look a private pool and landscaped yard.

On the third level there is a great room with a fireplace (only available in off season) dining room, kitchen, and access to half bath. There is a deck off the great room that overlooks the pool and beautiful landscaped yard. Also available on deck is a gas grill and plenty of seating. There is a master bedroom with king bed, Jacuzzi bath, and private bath. You will enjoy the newly remodeled kitchen with top of the line appliances, Keurig coffee maker and twelve cup coffee maker.

We do recommend grocery shopping for bulk at one of the many larger grocery stores in Kitty Hawk only 15 minutes away.
There are many attractions to enjoy on the Outer Banks during your stay. Be sure to check out the Wild Horses roaming the beaches in Corolla. You can book a tour or take your own four wheel drive exploring. There is also the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills where the Wright Brothers flew the very first airplane! Visit Jockey's Ridge, the largest living sand dune on the Atlantic Coast in Nags Head. You can climb this dune and fly a kite! Spend a day checking out our lighthouses in Corolla, Bodie Island, and Cape Hatteras, or take an off shore fishing charter, or a Dolphin Tour. Another fantastic addition to a family vacation is to see The Lost Colony Play in Manteo. The Lost Colony is celebrating it's 85th year of production and is a top attraction for locals and visitors alike! While in Manteo, be sure to check out the Aquarium where you will see sharks, turtles, otters, alligators and more! These are only a few of the many attractions that the Outer Banks has to offer.

House Rules:
1. Check-in is anytime after 4pm. We are unable to accommodate early check-ins during the busy season as it takes the entire time between check-out and check-in to properly clean and prepare the home for your stay. We will text you or call you if the home is ready early.
2. Check-out is no later than 10am. Our cleaning team will arrive at 10am sharp. Please be sure to be completely checked out by this time. Please text us as you are leaving.
3. No over occupancy. At no time should there be more than 17 guests occupying the property.
4. No parties or events at this property. This property is intended for family units to enjoy a relaxing vacation in a clean and beautiful environment. We take great pride in providing a beautiful and clean space for our guests. Please treat our home as you would like your home to be treated.
5. No smoking in this home, no exceptions. If you smoke outside, please dispose of your cigarette butts properly.
6. No pets, no exceptions.
7. Please do not leave doors and windows open with a/c on. This could cause the a/c to freeze up and leave you with a hot vacation.
8. Please do not reset the router. These are located throughout the home. If a router is reset, or unplugged resulting in a service call, there will be a $150 service fee.

The Sanderling Pool and Racquet Club is available seasonally for guest use from June to October.

The neighborhood features a pond that is a popular fishing spot as well as nature walking trails and the home is located right at the edge of a dreamy canopy of live oaks!

Located in Duck, with close proximity to the sound and the sea, this well appointed classic beach home is close to all of Duck's amenities.... most of all the beautiful beaches! If you ever tire of the surf and the sand, have a soak in the hot tub or take a dip in the pool (from April 21st).
During the high season we offer a Friday check-in to avoid traffic.
The open kitchen and living area are ideal for family gatherings. Or, spread out on the brand new wrap around deck. There is a picnic table on the deck to allow for outdoor dining and several chairs for lounging with a good book. On the ground level there is an outdoor shower to rinse off the day. With one-level living, there are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with each set of bedrooms sharing a jack-n-jill bathroom. While the cottage easily sleeps 8, it is ideally suited to two small families (4 adults and 4 children). There is just over 1,000 square feet of living space, so it may be a bit 'close' for 8 adults.
Linens, bath towels and beach towels are not provided by the host and are the responsibility of the guest. If needed, a linen service can be booked by the guest to provide linens and towels at an extra charge.
