Gentle Breezes is family owned cottage of 30 years and is located in the heart of Duck. It is Oceanside but not on the ocean front. The house does not not have a view of the ocean but you can hear the ocean especially at night. Our house is located in a safe area for walking to the beach and it only is a few minutes walk from the house with no busy streets to cross. Only neighbors and their guest are allowed to use the beach in front of our neighborhood. There are life guard stands placed in strategic places along this stretch of the beach with lifeguards on 4 wheelers observing the activity on the beach as well in the water. No fires are allowed on the beach at any time. There is a charcoal grill which you can use downstairs on the patio. No grills are allowed on the upper decks.
You will find that our cottage is very clean as our cleaners do a thorough job sanitizing between guest stays.
The bedrooms consist of 3 Queen beds and twin bunk beds. with a pull out twin
new mattress under the bed. Sheets and towels are provided for a small fee There is an open lot on the deck side of our house belongs to our neighbors and has been designated as a Sanctuary for animals such as deer and rabbits, and to protect the plants that grow there. Please do not trespass on their lot. There are no houses close behind us making for more privacy. We recently put new floors all throughout the whole house and there are freshly painted bathrooms as well as in the downstairs area in the laundry area. ,There are new light fixtures and new ceiling fans as well as other upgrades that are in process. There are new kitchen cabinets and new mattresses on the beds. The exterior of the house is being replaced sometime this year and we will be replacing the deck if time permits. We have kept our rental prices down by being conservative with doing repairs with the cost of materials going up. Our house is in a great location for getting to the beach and the town of Duck . The ocean can get rough at times so please beware of rip currents and keep a close eye on children and pets. You can also let your dogs off leash on the beach as long as they stay with you. There are sand stickers mostly in the grass so beware with pets and small children walking in the grass and tracking them into the house. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas at Atlantic rentals which is close. There is a rental bike place as well as a rental spot for golf karts. We hope you have an enjoyable and safe stay. There are many things to do in Duck as well as Corolla Beach town 15 minutes north of Duck. Lots of wonderful restaurants but they are much cheaper at lunch time than at dinner . WHERE IS HOUSE AND HOW DO I GET IN ? Once the last payment has been made, usually scheduled three weeks before arrival date, you will be sent address, unique entry code for your week, and other pertinent information on house. There is a 90 day 100% refund.

HOW FAR ARE YOU FROM BEACH? As far as the location of house to beach, please see posted pictures and captions. One picture was taken from house showing ocean access between a yellow and a gray ocean front houses. The second picture shows a close up of access showing same houses. I hope that made sense. Its about a football field walk to beach and a football and half to Sound.

WHEN IS CHECK IN CAN I GET AN EARLY CHECK IN OR LATE CHECK OUT? During summer season it is almost impossible to get an early check in/check out. We stay booked Saturday to Saturday and our cleaners have a very small window between 10 am and 4PM to clean and prepare multiple houses. If renting in off season, contact me and we can review. We do ask that you help our cleaning staff and leave house and neat and clean as possible

ARE LINENS AND TOWELS PROVIDED? You have the option of bringing your on linens or we can provide for a $75 service fee. This included all sheets, pillow cases and bath towels and washcloths. Comforters, pillows, blankets are provided regardless

WHEN DOES POOL OPEN AND IS IT HEATED? Pool normally opens up the middle of April and closes the middle of October. It is not heated and depending on weather and tolerance can be used in those months.

CAN I BRING MY PET? Although I am a pet lover and have dogs myself, due to the short turn over time on Saturday mornings, there is no time for extra cleaning for any pet issues. If you are renting on off season, contact me and we can discuss possibility of allowing pets. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions.

Great cottage, within the village of Duck, access to the beach (300 ft.) and the sound. This pet free cottage has 4 bedrooms, (king, queen, double and twin bunks). Large deck to include a flying deck. Recently updated interior, full kitchen, cable, Wi-Fi, additional TV for gaming, laundry, covered parking (for 1), driveway and pad for additional parking, charcoal grill, elevator (for luggage etc., not for people). The community boardwalk makes beach access very convenient, this community also has access to the sound, for some great fishing, kayaking and stunning sunsets. Nearby Duck has some fine restaurants (like Red Sky...wow, great food and good beer!), many (many) shops including several that rent bikes and kayaks, and Kitty Hawk Kites does jet ski and parasailing activities.

On the first level there is a game room with foosball and dart board. There is a private bedroom twin beds and private bath. Also included is a TV and VCR. There is a washer and dryer on the ground floor behind an enclosed area. Right off the game room outside is a Hot tub.

On the second level there are three bedrooms, two with queen beds and a full bath and another bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. Two bedrooms have deck access. On the deck is a swing and seating that over look a private pool and landscaped yard.

On the third level there is a great room with a fireplace (only available in off season) dining room, kitchen, and access to half bath. There is a deck off the great room that overlooks the pool and beautiful landscaped yard. Also available on deck is a gas grill and plenty of seating. There is a master bedroom with king bed, Jacuzzi bath, and private bath. You will enjoy the newly remodeled kitchen with top of the line appliances, Keurig coffee maker and twelve cup coffee maker.

There are many attractions to enjoy on the Outer Banks during your stay. Be sure to check out the Wild Horses roaming the beaches in Corolla. You can book a tour or take your own four wheel drive exploring. There is also the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills where the Wright Brothers flew the very first airplane! Visit Jockey's Ridge, the largest living sand dune on the Atlantic Coast in Nags Head. You can climb this dune and fly a kite! Spend a day checking out our lighthouses in Corolla, Bodie Island, and Cape Hatteras, or take an off shore fishing charter, or a Dolphin Tour. Another fantastic addition to a family vacation is to see The Lost Colony Play in Manteo. The Lost Colony is celebrating it's 85th year of production and is a top attraction for locals and visitors alike! House Rules:
1. Check-in is anytime after 4pm. We are unable to accommodate early check-ins during the busy season as it takes the entire time between check-out and check-in to properly clean and prepare the home for your stay. We will text you or call you if the home is ready early.
2. Check-out is no later than 10am. Our cleaning team will arrive at 10am sharp. Please be sure to be completely checked out by this time. Please text us as you are leaving.
3. No over occupancy. At no time should there be more than 17 guests occupying the property.
4. No parties or events at this property. This property is intended for family units to enjoy a relaxing vacation in a clean and beautiful environment. We take great pride in providing a beautiful and clean space for our guests. Please treat our home as you would like your home to be treated.
5. No smoking in this home, no exceptions. If you smoke outside, please dispose of your cigarette butts properly.
6. No pets, no exceptions.
7. Please do not leave doors and windows open with a/c on. This could cause the a/c to freeze up and leave you with a hot vacation.
8. Please do not reset the router. These are located throughout the home. If a router is reset, or unplugged resulting in a service call, there will be a $150 service fee.

Located in Duck, with close proximity to the sound and the sea, this well appointed classic beach home is close to all of Duck's amenities.... most of all the beautiful beaches! If you ever tire of the surf and the sand, have a soak in the hot tub or take a dip in the pool (from April 21st).
During the high season we offer a Friday check-in to avoid traffic.
The open kitchen and living area are ideal for family gatherings. Or, spread out on the brand new wrap around deck. There is a picnic table on the deck to allow for outdoor dining and several chairs for lounging with a good book. On the ground level there is an outdoor shower to rinse off the day. With one-level living, there are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with each set of bedrooms sharing a jack-n-jill bathroom. While the cottage easily sleeps 8, it is ideally suited to two small families (4 adults and 4 children). There is just over 1,000 square feet of living space, so it may be a bit 'close' for 8 adults.
Linens, bath towels and beach towels are not provided by the host and are the responsibility of the guest. If needed, a linen service can be booked by the guest to provide linens and towels at an extra charge.

Dune House sits just beyond the dune in charming Duck, located in North Carolina's storied Outer Banks. Built in 1983 and newly renovated by Lauren Liess & Co Dune House has been designed to evoke the feeling of beach days gone by. Raw tongue and groove cedar juniper paneling throughout the main areas of the house and other nostalgic local touches like sea oats wallpaper and vintage coastal artwork bring touches of old Outer Banks to this new beauty with all the amenities. The beach is steps away with your very own private walkway over the dune.

With a floorplan made for living, Dune House allows guests the space and privacy to both gather together and be alone as desired. With 3 king bedrooms- each with ocean views and deck walk-outs- each guest feels like they are getting the "best" room. Two kids' rooms (the 6-bed bunk room and trundle bedroom) face west yet have ocean views out the sides. A den/ game room with TV on the main level provides privacy from the great room and a spot for kids to hang. The "sky loft" upstairs has some of the prettiest ocean views in the house and is complete with rolling bar cart for evening drinks.

The ten foot long dining table seats 8 and the kitchen peninsula seats 4. Folding chairs are stored in a nearby closet and can be pulled up to the table for additional seating.

Starter Items

Bike rentals available at the end of the street @ Ocean Atlantic Rentals; at the other end of the street is the neighborhood beach access point with bike racks.

Enjoy the incredible views from the decks including a "Crow's Nest; Roof Top Deck". An amazing spot to watch the sunrise or to stargaze at night! Venture into the backyard and play a game of volleyball on the full size court. Volleyballs provided as well as an assortment of beach equipment. The beach access is only 0.2 miles from the house, a short walk and your toes are in the sand! After a hot day at the beach, you can jump into the large outdoor shower then into the crisp cool air inside. The home is equipped with all major appliances including stove, microwave, refrigerator x 2, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

Guest access
You will have a private driveway for parking, there is no street parking. You will have access to the entire house with the exception of a few locked owner closets. Just so you know, there is a security camera at the front door oustide.

Other things to note
There is no street parking for the neighborhood beach access at the end of the road. People walk from the cottage or shuttle with a car/golf cart. It is easily walkable.

Check out instructions will be posted in your Airbnb and include asking if you would not mind starting the first load of towels, starting the dishwasher and taking your trash to the outside can.

The air hockey and pool table that are consealed under the ping pong table are not for guest use.

The space
Welcome to our conveniently-located home that features a PRIVATE HEATED SALTWATER POOL & HOT TUB, 4 decks, outdoor backyard lounge, two outdoor dining options, 2.5 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, an outdoor shower and washer/dryer.

Layout
The first floor has 3 bedrooms and one full bath. One bedroom has a queen bed with a TV with AppleTV and a private deck and entrance, the 2nd bedroom is great for kids with 4 twin beds (one bunk and a trundle bed). The third bedroom has 2 twin beds.

Upstairs is the fully-stocked kitchen, dining room and living room with front deck and outdoor table for dining. The primary bedroom is upstairs with a queen bed and adjoining bathroom. The bedroom also has a private deck that overlooks the backyard. The living room is upstairs with a 50" inch TV with Apple TV and cable channels via YouTubeTV app and streaming services. WIFI signal is strong throughout the house and backyard.

Linens and towels are included. We provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of the trundle bed in which case the sheets are provided upon request. We also provide 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person, 1 beach towel per person, and 2 hand towels per bathroom. Additional towels available, upon request, for an additional fee.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home. We provide all you need to enjoy the beach - chairs, umbrella, beach buggy and cooler. Beach toys and boogy boards for the kids are provided as well as fun games like corn hole and board games. Our goal is for you to just show up with your personal items and have a fully equipped beach experience as if it was your own beach house.

Other things to note
Pool heater is optional. There is a $40/night fee for use of the pool heater. Please let us know if you would like the pool heated when booking and we will adjust the pricing.** Pool heating is generally not needed for the peak season (mid-June through early-September).

Wow! This home has been completely (and lovingly) updated in 2020 with new paint throughout, new appliances, bedding and decor, flooring and new modern fans and fixtures. We are continually striving to add new updates to the house that will enhance the guest's experience. The house comes with 4 beach bikes, a wagon, grill&smoker, etc. Situated on Christopher Drive in the heart of Duck, the Gulls Nest is only a five minute walk to main eating, shops and less than 10 minute walk to the beach.

The space
Welcome! We are beach side! Our home is three floors with the first floor being ground level entrance and hosts the utility room. The utility room includes laundry for guests to use at their disposal and detergent is provided! (NO BLEACH PLEASE! We Have a septic and its not bleach friendly) Ground level space also includes covered carport, grilling, smoking (BBQ) and fish cleaning station as well as the outdoor shower area. All tools and fixins for grilling provided (seen in pictures). Outdoor games, seating and firepit area are also provided for entertainment on the ground level. There is a cart that is home to all outdoor games. Some beach toys and a wagon for carrying your necessities will also be available in this area. Pets are welcome on a limited basis. Must be crated and under 20lbs, though.

Walk up to the second floor from the exterior entrance or first floor utility room where most bedrooms and sleeping quarters are. The second floor includes four tastefully renovated bedrooms, two full baths, including a master suite. Everything you need for your stay is provided including Linens, towels, wash cloths, paper products and shampoo/soap. Beds included on second floor are 1 KING, 2 QUEENS, 2 TWINS (SINGLE) BEDS. Available also on the second floor are a portable crib (pack and play) and air mattress for additional sleeping arrangements with sheets. The king bedroom is home to the only tv in the second floor with cable.

The third, main living, floor is open concept living/dining/kitchen/half bath and will be stocked for your stay with a rolling cart of games and puzzles and a small library of beach reads (in the cabinet under the TV). The third floor also has the fifth bedroom- the master suite- which includes a workspace station with multi plug outlet and USB ports- perfect for those needing to work from home!

Our "smart" home is Alexa friendly. There is an echo dot to use for music streaming or recipe sharing upstairs in addition to smart plugs that decrease the use of switches- Just say- "Alexa, all lights on".. or "Alexa, turn living room lights off". The living room tv has cable hook up and blue ray player for movie nights! Kitchen is stocked with dishes, spices, a keurig, all new appliances (2020) including convection baking oven and any utencil, pan or pot you may need. Household cleaning supplies are also stored in the kitchen under the sink for your utilization.

Enjoy a little relaxation with your morning coffee or evening hang out spot on the deck. Lounging chairs for sunbathing and a small table and built in benches are provided.

The perfect location for your stay in Duck. Walking and biking distance to the beach, the sound and the boardwalk, and all the wonderful amenities the town of Duck has to offer- once you arrive, there is no reason to use your car (although golf cart and bike rentals are only a walk away)!

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property (minus a small "owner closet" on the gound level first floor). The ground level has an entry door with keypad / code lock which will be provided within 12 hours prior to arrival.

Other things to note
There is no parking at the beach access (there are signs). Please plan to walk, bike or ride the golf cart. If you're staying for a week or longer you might want to invest in the golf cart rental or bring your bikes (especially with kids). You can leave your bikes, wagon (one is provided) or rented cart at the beach access as there are spots to do so.

Once you arrive at the access, the beach is within sight. The community on our street that shares the beach is friendly and tight knit- there is nothing to worry about leaving your personal belongings for a few hours while at the beach or even to save your spot in the sand. Trust us- Everyone does it!

The space
Our beachhouse is 1,300 sq feet and an open floor plan with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. We have 1 queen bed, 2 full beds, and two singles ( one is a trundle and low to ground).

We supply fresh linens, towels, beach towels, beach accessories and toilet paper and paper towels, as well as shampoo, conditioner and dish soap.

We are dog and kid friendly. There is a flight of steps to get to front door.

There is so much to enjoy in Duck. Paddle boarding, kayaking, jet skiing, surfing, biking, shopping and great restaurants . There is even a spa 4 blocks away.

Our home has its own private community beach so you wont have any parking hassles or crowds.

Dolphins love to pass by in the mornings too! And sunsets are amazing.

Beach chairs are available complimentary for your use. The town has a 9 mile multi use path and we are located about 2 miles (20 min bike ride) from town. You can rent bikes from a variety of rental companies around Duck (Duck Village Outfitters, Ocean Atlantic Rentals)
