Relax at our unique and tranquil get-away in the Town of Duck. From the beach or pool, to all that the town offers just steps away, you can enjoy a day in the sun, a kayak float on the sound, a spa retreat, or a quiet dinner and sunset. Use the provided bikes (waiver form required), or bring your own, and it’s even easier. Shops, restaurants, the beach and sound are within walking and biking distance (beach is ~ 440 yards away) Park your car and enjoy the relaxed walk/bike Duck experience.
The space
The pool can be heated upon request from September - October (and sometimes into November depending on how cold the air temperature is at that time). The Hive is on the 2nd floor with private entrance. The back deck has seating and access down a set of stairs to the shared pool and outdoor shower. The hot tub is available from October to May, and by request during the summer months with a 24 hour request. Just let us know!
Guest access
You have private off street parking, private access to the Hive, access to the shared pool for the summer months, and use of the hot tub from October to May. The Hive has full size kitchen appliances, an ice maker, WIFI access, and ROKU TV. Drip coffee maker, Keurig, and French Press are available for making coffee. King sheets, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and beach towels are provided. You also have two beach chairs and a beach umbrella available, hung near the bicycles.
Other things to note
We have two bicycles, 7 speed beach cruisers, and helmets available for your use. They are in a covered area next to the parking space. (Each rider will need to sign a waiver of liability form in order to use them). If you decide to bring your own bikes, you can store them in this covered area as well.

The Green Door Guest House is located in the charming town of Duck (Outer Banks,NC.) A spacious 1 bedroom apartment above our detached garage is a perfect getaway for couples or families. Easy 5 min walk to the sound or 10 min walk to the beach!
The space
Brand new! We just finished construction on this property in February 2016. Bright and spacious. There is a staircase on the back of the garage to enter the Green Door. Just inside is a nice entry with hooks to hang your beach towel or your jacket. Walk into the living room with big windows and a cozy sectional couch. (Comfy enough to sleep on but we also have a pack n play for children, and a queen air bed that fits easily into the space at night) Enjoy the view of the woods or pop on the TV and chill out. Off the living room is a covered, screened in porch to enjoy a meal, play a game, or just chat! Back inside we have a wonderful kitchenette complete with a full size fridge and dishwasher! We have a full size convection oven that fits a whole chicken, frozen pizzas, baking dishes, etc. We also have a two burner stove top and an additional induction burner. All brand new appliances, all very easy to use to make all your meals at home if you so desire. Off the kitchen is the bedroom with a queen bed, dresser, and closet. The bed is firm and very comfortable. Through the bedroom is the bathroom with a tile bath/shower combo and a funky glass leaf sink.
Guest access
You will have your own designated parking space that will always be available for you to come and go easily. The entire apartment is yours to use. If you bring children or just want to throw a football in the front yard, feel free! We do have a washing machine and dryer in our own house and we would kindly do a load of laundry for you if it's necessary.
Other things to note
The beach is an easy 10 minute walk away, but there are also a few parking spaces available near the Sea Hawk beach access. You can see nightly sunsets over the water with just a quick 5 minute walk to the sound at the end of the street. We have bikes you can use too!
