- "The location was wonderful! A beautiful spot on the Scuppernong river with easy access to the water (4-6 ft deep for a long ways out). We swam, fished, and kayaked and saw dolphins, and osprey right off the dock. The property itself could use an upgrade. The outdoor shower was broken (looked like it hadn't been used in a while), the paddleboat was missing some pedals, and the furniture has seen better days. Owner filed a claim for an older chair; thankfully, we had renters insurance (required?). The uneven floors were noticeable, but didn't bother us. However, except for a couple days of really hot weather, it wasn't noticed, since we were outside enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The host was delightful, easy to work with, and wanted to ensure our stay was great. We enjoyed the great extras for guest use (fishing poles, games, hammock, etc). Highly recommend this place!"

Serenity is a home that provides beautiful views of the Albemarle sound in a private setting. The home is second row waterfront. Water access is directly in front of the home and there is a boat ramp in the neighborhood. The water is usually 4-5 feet deep, depending on the wind, and is a sandy bottom. Sit in a rocking chair and enjoy the views from the porch, walk to the water for a swim, or take a drive to several nearby towns including historical Edenton and the Outer Banks. This is the perfect home to relax.

We do not allow pets in the house or on the property. We allow up to 8 people on the property but no more than 8, regardless of whether or not they're spending the night.

Sit in the huge air conditioned sunroom overlooking the beautiful Albemarle Sound, or sit for hours under the cool pines on a swing for just you and your sweetie. Feeling adventurous? Check out the neighborhood on the electric golf cart or launch the canoe.

The space

We are the new owner’s of this magical space on the water! When you arrive you will be met with expansive views of the sound all for your enjoyment. Please see recent review below when we purchased from Glenn. We saw the magic and once we convinced Glenn we would take great care of this gem he was more than happy to find time to travel. He loved this space for 15 years and we intend to love it like he did.

From a recent review: "There are a few places that get in one's soul that you can't imagine not coming back, and Glenn's is one of them. We had to evacuate the outer Banks due to hurricane and we were not ready to cut a long awaited vacation short, so we went to plan "B" and went inland but with water. The sheer beauty of the unobstructed views of the sound and the comfort of the home cannot be overstated. The house is so well situated to take advantage of the view with great deck and dock with plenty of seating. We caught enough crabs to feed 5 and ate at his outdoor table under the trees. The sound is pristine and we spent the day just floating in the calm water, viewing a heron, a white egret, lots of Hawks, and a bald eagle! My husband took out the canoe and caught a few fish, (released). The kitchen is great for cooking for a group, with very nice appliances and well-appointed. The home is very Serene and comfortable with huge master bedroom...all was spotless. Plan B will become plan A!"

Guest access

You will have full access to the house and detached garage where the golf cart, gas grill, yard furniture, tiki torches, corn hole boards, giant Jenga, horseshoes, badminton, golf clubs, and croquet are kept. Two hammocks for your use under the pines or on the dock or both. Large canoe for adventures by sea. Full kitchen with all the amenities.

Other things to note

Do you like seafood? Being here is the perfect place for a seafood boil or peel and eat shrimp. Plan on bringing some Old Bay and shrimp. The dock just calls for shrimp to be eaten on it. Please remember the closest grocery store is 20 minutes away. On your way to the house is a Super Wal Mart in Elizabeth City which is a good stop to buy supplies. We do have spices, butter, olive oil, etc for your cooking needs. We will have info at the house for you about local restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.

COVID-19 & Cleaning:
We go above and beyond to ensure the comfort of our guests, taking care of all the little things. We constantly get 5 stars for cleans and with the world's current concerns with regards to cleanliness and hygiene, we are now going to extra lengths.

Our home is professionally cleaned by a registered cleaning company that is following strict Government Health Department guidelines with regards to products and surfaces cleaned between guests stays. Including all surfaces, light switches, door handles/knobs and remote controls. If you want to know more please just ask, we are here to assist you.

- "Everything the owner said or had control over was done great. However because of the grass in the sound, the fishing was very slow on the dock and it was not the best to swim off of. That may have been when we went or just mother nature. The AC down stairs did go out one night, we got back around 8pm, it was working that morning when we left. He had someone out the next day who fixes it, was very responsive to messages. Again not something he had control over, sure he would have rather it not go out too."

There is private off street parking in a covered car port adjacent to the house and another private spot behind the house. It is a two-minute walk to the Scuppernong River Boardwalk, antique store, coffee/ wine shop, and restaurants. Pocosin Arts School of Fine Crafts is a local treasure and features handcrafted works made by resident and visiting artists in ther gallery. Want to get your craft on? They can also set up private 3-4 hour sessions in pottery, painting, jewelry making and more.

Bring your kayaks, canoe, SUP or boat the Scuppernong River is waiting! The beach is an easy 40 minute drive and 30 minutes from Edenton.

This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is fully furnished and equipped to host any family and friends getaway, hunting/fishing trip, or if you just want a place to relax and unwind.

The master bedroom includes a king bed and a private bathroom with a glass enclosed shower. The 2nd bedroom includes a queen bed. The 3rd bedroom includes a twin-over-twin bunk bed as well as an additional twin bed. In addition, there is a sleeper sofa in the living room as well as a futon the sunroom for more guests. The second full bath with a bath tub and washer and dryer is in the hallway just outside the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms. The great room has vaulted ceilings and a 65” smart TV. Each of the 3 bedrooms also have smart TVs. The main dining table seats 6 and an additional pub table seats 4 to accommodate all types of gatherings. The house comes with central air and Wifi. Linens and towels are provided.

Enjoy evenings around the firepit and look up at the endless sky full of the brightest stars you will ever see. There is plenty of parking including room to park an RV or a boat on a trailer. Come spend a week or tack on a few days at the beginning or end of your Outer Banks vacation.

My GPS did not bring me all of the way to the house. Using the longitude/latitude may be better. WiFi had a strong signal. The heat for the air & water worked very well. The living room had a nice big TV but the sofa is uncomfortable. I doubt I’d have noticed if I hadn’t been alone. I would rent there again and recommend it for wildlife enthusiasts, bird watchers, fishermen, and hunters. It is a cottage, not a house so there are areas where the ceiling is low. I don’t think that would matter as people renting there are there to get into the woods & ponds, not just hang around the house. Leaving a bottle of wine for me was also a nice touch. Thank you! The space:
Gorgeous, private, quiet full half acre property right on the Albemarle Sound! Two kayaks and life jackets available for use on the pond or the sound. Peaceful, quiet, wooded neighborhood. All outdoor yard games, cushions, and life jackets are in the outdoor closet off the deck.
Guest access:
Guests have access to the entire house, with the exception of two locked closets in the bedrooms.
Other things to note:
The front yard is fenced in - However, the backyard is not. Children (and non-swimmers) should be very closely supervised at all times when outside, especially near the water. There is no lifeguard on duty and you must be aware that you swim at your own risk! Where the stairs go into the sound it is approximately six feet deep. Please watch for stumps and rocks, although most of the sound floor is sand. No jumping for diving is allowed.

East Carolina Cabin is located on the same property as my other listing East Carolina Cottage. You can rent both properties if you have larger groups. There is ample parking on the property. The cabin stands alone roughly 50ft away from the other cottage so you have privacy.

You will have the entire cabin to yourself. The main living space has a king size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa. The kitchenette comes equipped with a stove top and refrigerator. Cookware, dishes and basic kitchen needs are provided. You will also have a dining table with seating for 4. The full bathroom has a bathtub as well as a washer and dryer. The cabin has air-conditioning and wifi. Linens and towels are also provided.

One of North Carolina's oldest towns, 300-year old Edenton contains a trove of architectural treasures constructed in the 18th and 19th centuries. Thanks to the Edenton Historical Commission, formed in the 1960's, many of these historic buildings have been restored and are open for daily tours through the visitor's center. One building included in the tour is the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse; the oldest courthouse in American and a National Historic Landmark.

This luxury resort is located on the scenic Albemarle Sound in a private community that will be completed in phases offering accommodations for many vacation styles.

Our three-bedroom apartments are absolutely wonderful and spacious units, with a fantastic view out over the water. These units offer up wonderful accommodations; fully furnished kitchens, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fireplace, and televisions all perfect for making sure your vacations feels like home.

Ground floor parking garage has direct access to our elevator with ample space for wheelchairs or power scooters on each level to reach units.
All sidewalks easily lead to our outdoor pool and hot tub area with Aqua Creek pool lifts for people up to 350 lbs on both.
Sidewalks also lead to outdoor gazebo, gas fire pit, and pool bath house that has Handicap accessible bathrooms and roll in showers.
Suite 104 has standard height (3’) island bar in kitchen 11’ long by 3 ½’ wide. Stove has easy to reach controls on the front panel. Microwave oven on counter. Open cabinet under kitchen sink seems nice for wheelchair access. Handicap bathroom with handrails and roll in shower with bench.
