Beach Me Up Scotty! is a cozy and affordable 2 bedroom, 2 & 1/2 bath, 1200 sq ft home. Located on oceanside and within a short walking distance to the ocean. There is a large sidewalk across from the house for bikes or walking that will take you to many local shops. , Master bedroom has a queen bed with joining full bath. Second bedroom has a full bed with twin trundle. Another full bathroom in the hallway. The living room has large open ceilings with large front windows for great views. A extra family room /game room with 1/2 bath and a pull out sleep sofa is located on the lower level. The open kitchen has a bar that seats 2 and dinning table that seats 6. There is a outside shower and a fish cleaning station under the house as well as a charcoal grill in the yard.

Sea Horse is a sweet beach cottage on a quiet court in Salvo. This cozy cottage is the third lot back from the community beach access. Relax and listen to the ocean waves while enjoying your morning coffee on the comfortable screened in front porch. The open living room is well equipped with plenty of seating for the whole family. - "We traveled as a family. 2 preteens and 1 dog. House was so nice, clean and right size for 4 people and a dog. Sally was a great host. She gave us all the info. So, my kids rented a bike, walked to the ice-cream place and enjoyed it everyday. Beach was so close by and huge. Yes, there is a dune part, but you can easily walk through. We walked our dog at the beach every morning. There are restaurants or little markets, very close by. Food Lion is 20 minutes drive. It is a very convenient and safe place. My kids had so much fun. They were so tired from swimming, riding a bike and walking to ice cream place. House has everything. Games for kids, books, cooking utensils. You need to bring your towels and bed sheets only. it was a home away from home. Special thanks to Sally. I wish I have a neighbor like her. She was very helpful. We will be back. "

Your private front entrance into unit #1 is the brown/glass door on the left side of the home. The 10' ceilings make the retreat feel incredibly spacious. It includes a very comfortable Ghost King mattress, a coffee maker, a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a ceiling fan, and linens. The custom-tiled bathroom has a solid-surface double vanity and a large glass-enclosed tile shower.

The only thing is that the water pressure was a little low but it was fine in my opinion. There wasn't a lot to do in the area but we drove to Hatteras Island and Kill Devils Hill for some activities other than the beach. The beaches in the area are absolutely gorgeous and aren't crowded. It was definitely a perfect couples unit to rent for the week. The price is great as well. There's no kitchen but there is a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker which was all we really needed since we wanted to eat out most of the time anyways. Overall a great trip and definitely a place worth staying at again if we're in the area!"

- "I was notified that the house was ready. Upon arrival we found it had not been cleaned. I called the office and explained. A short time later a lady came and inspected the house. She apologized for the miscommunication and said she was calling for help. A short time later her army showed up. They had the house cleaned in record time. Overall the lady was very professional and even purchased pizza for our trouble. The house and area was all great. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. - "My family and I had a great time at this house. There was 11 of us and a dog and we had plenty of room. A short walk to the beach and quite neighborhood to walk the dog." - "We have two small dogs that we wanted to take with us to vacation alongside us. So that was a major consideration in choosing this property. When we arrived we found out that the owners must love pets as much as we do. First thing we saw was were poo bags at the entrance and pictures of other dogs that have stayed there with their families. :-) Gotta have poo bags. We brought along with their beds, toys, and throws so they seemed to feel right at home. The house has three flights of stairs, which we have none at home, but "the boys" were able to go up and down them like pros. As for their parents, we really enjoyed the property and our time there. These was a little bit of a hike to the beach because of having to hike over the dunes, but the trail was easy to find and we all did that just fine. It's maybe a 10 minute walk to the beach. And, there was plenty of neighborhood to explore on our many walks with the boys. When we opened the windows and patio doors, there was a nice breeze through the house. We also spent a lot of time on the top balcony, the boys really liked that too, as well as some time at the pool and in the Jacuzzi. The kitchen was well stocked with pretty much anything you needed to cook, although we ended up not doing much of that at all. Since we were at the beach, we went out for seafood every evening. Lots of eateries to choose from there at Salvo and we went down to Avon several times as well. Our first evening we went up to Watermen's Bar and Grill. So good!. Plus we ate outside and watched the kite boarders do their stunts. The house was pretty clean. I'm kind of a clean freak so I did clean the countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, and ran a load of dishes in the dishwasher to get us going for the week, but I didn't feel the need to do much more than that. We only used the one bedroom on the top floor since it was just the two of us so I can't say whether the rest of the house was just as nice but I'm sure it was considering the spaces we did use were fine. Over all we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely consider staying there again."

You may have one item if you are staying 3 days or two if staying a week or more of non-electric rental equipment checked out at any time including bikes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards , surfboards, bodyboards, beach equipment, and much more. Check out mydvo.com for more info on equipment we rent. The 1 or 2 pieces of non-electric equipment is complimentary. You may also rent additional equipment at 20 percent off while staying here. You can also receive a 20 percent discount on retail purchases from the surf shop.
Equipment may be reserved or checked out at any time. We usually have all categories of equipment available for check out during 9-6 business hours (10-5 off season) but can only guarantee availability if reserved in advance. You may also turn in equipment and check out other equipment upon return (ex.- turn in two bikes after a morning ride and check out two surfboards for an afternoon surf) or reserve equipment on a daily basis ( ex- reserve 1or2 kayaks on Monday, 1 or 2 bikes on Tuesday, 1 or 2 paddle boards on Wed, etc…). We try to be as flexible as possible on providing you with the beach toys you wish for when you want them but we do occasionally run out of certain categories of equipment on rare occasions during peak business season so we recommend as much advance notice of which gear you are interested in in order to guarantee it will be available when you request it.

Home is equipped with a fish cleaning station to accommodate your catch. There is a a short 6-8 minute walk beach and across the dunes to enjoy the relaxing seaside sun. Our pier is a popular location where the kite surfers like to come by very close which makes for great photos. The pier is part of our property but is shared by the adjoining neighbors and their guests. The first floor welcomes you with three bedrooms. Bedroom one has a queen and deck access. Bedroom two has a queen bed and shared access to the main bathroom with jacuzzi jets and a shower. Bedroom 3 is a master with a queen bed and a private bath and direct access the deck and hot tub. A well-placed laundry room with washing machine and dryer completes this floor. All mattresses were replaced 12/2020. The second floor is very inviting with an open great room, beam ceilings and abundant natural light flowing through the many windows. Water views at every turn! The living room has a vaulted ceiling, a game table, and comfortable furniture positioned to optimize the views through the sliding glass doors that lead to the deck. The kitchen is open and well-equipped for creating your favorite cuisine. The dining area has a table with seating for eight and is ready for lively dinner conversation as you gather and recount the day's adventures, or if you'd prefer, serve your meals on the deck and dine in the open-air overlooking the water. - "Sounds Good to Me was a very ideal beach house for our combined friends and family vacation. We had four different families stay in this house and there was plenty of room either to gather all together in one great room consisting of a dining area, kitchen, and living room, or separate into smaller groups and play pool, or go in the hot tub or swimming pool. The beach was a short walk away, it took us about 15 minutes to walk there with little ones in tow; there is a beach access path across the street and around to the corner of the neighborhood. The community has two of its own accesses to the sound. The house was clean, newly carpeted, and the kitchen was decently stocked with necessary pans, pots, dinnerware and small appliances, as well as 2 outdoor charcoal grills, if you are planning to cook all week, which we did, the kitchen was very accommodating for cooking and eating for/as a large group. Also very convenient at the house were 3 bikes which got very well used by the kids in our crew. Everyone in our group agreed that this house could easily become a yearly summer tradition just because it has so many great bonuses to accommodate rainy days at the beach as well as those perfect sunny days! The only suggestions or negative feedback we have is that the dryer in the house did not work very well at all, even after removing as much lint in the trap that I could, it took 3x’s longer than it should to dry our loads, and also the bathrooms are all very tiny, esp. the MBs"

Equipment can be reserved in advance or you may come downstairs and check out equipment during regular business hours.
When you are finished using the equipment, you may try something else. (Ex.- go for a bike ride in the morning then turn the bikes in after your morning bike ride then check out one or two stand up paddle boards for an afternoon paddle on the sound.)
You may also reserve equipment in advance. (Ex.- book two bikes on Monday, book two surfboards on Tuesday, book two paddle parts on Wednesday, etc…)
The first item of non- electric rental equipment if you are staying 3 days or two items if you are staying a week or more is included at no charge. If you have up to 4 travelers, you may book additional items of any equipment at 20 percent off .

- "Very pleased with the house. We all felt like the pictures did not do the house justice. Very nicely decorated and we liked the layout. The bedrooms were a little small but we didn’t spend much time in them anyway. The only real complaint is it was a chore getting to the beach. The access was close but required a lot of walking thru sand and over a good sized dune. Overall we were very satisfied and would stay here again. Surf and Sound realty were very easy to deal with and the best company we have used so far (we have used 3 others)."
