The Green Room rental apartment unit is outfitted with king size beds in both bedrooms, flat screen televisions in both bedrooms as well as the living area, blu-ray player in the living area, stainless steel appliances, stone counter tops, and laminate wood flooring. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, plates & silverware, glasses & wine glasses, toaster, blender, coffee maker, Full size refrigerator with water and ice in the door, dishwasher, stove, oven and microwave.

The comfortable living area has a 50" flat screen HDTV with Blu-Ray player, and iPod/iPhone docking stereo system. If you need a little extra sleeping area than the 2 King size beds the living room sofa folds out to a queen size bed.

The bathrooms are equipped with linens for 4 people (additional linens are available for an additional charge) and hairdryers.

The bedrooms each have luxurious king size beds, full size dressers, closets with hangers, and 32" flat screen televisions.

Modern HE (High Efficiency) clothes washer and dryer are provided in the apartment so there's no need to go home with dirty laundry or run out of clean laundry during your stay.

Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor day, all guests of The Green Room have access to the private Kinnakeet Shores pool, pickleball, and tennis court facilities. Located approximately 1 mile south of The Green Room the Kinnakeet Shores facility has an Olympic sized pool, kiddie pools, and regulation sized pickleball and tennis courts. Easily bike, walk, or drive/park to Kinnakeet Shores from The Green Room and enjoy the membership only facilities. *

Unlike most rentals on Hatteras Island, The Green Room does not require a full week rental.

Staying with a large group of friends or family for the week in a big house and want to come early or stay on the island longer and need a more intimate setting? A few additional days on either end of those types of rentals in The Green Room is a great opportunity to extend your stay.

Policies:
RATES: All listed rates are based on a max. 4 person occupancy, with a minimum 3 night stay. Up to 2 additional guests are allowed, for a total of 6 occupants, however, for each additional guest there is a $5 per night/per extra guest fee.

DEPOSIT: A deposit of 50% of the net room rate is required. The full balance of the rental rate is due 60 days prior to the reservation check-in date.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Deposits are fully refundable up to 60 days before the start of your reservation. Payment is due in full at 60 days prior to the reservation date. A 50% refund of the full rental payment is available for cancellations made 59 -30 days prior to the start of your reservation. Within 30 days guests are responsible for the full cost of the reservation, no refunds will be given. Within 30 days of your reservation, booked dates cannot be transferred to later dates. There are NO weather related refunds,except for the case of a mandatory evacuation. Only dates covered in an evacuation order will be refunded. Within 30 days, as long as there is no evacuation order from Dare County, guests are responsible for payment of their booked dates - NO EXCEPTIONS. While we understand that emergencies happen, the reason for cancellation does not change our cancellation or refund policy.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRAVEL INSURANCEso that you are protected from any unexpected circumstances that may keep you from being able to keep your reservation. Please look online for the best travel insurance for you. While we understand that emergencies happen, the reason for cancellation does not change our cancellation or refund policy. AGE REQUIREMENTS: Guests of all ages are welcome at The Green Room, however the person making the reservation must be a minimum age of 25 years old. This person must be the one to make the reservation, sign the paperwork at check in, and he/she must be staying at The Green Room for the duration of the rental period.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES: The Green Room is a smoke-free and pet-free property. Guests that do not adhere to these rules will be evicted immediately with no refund, and any damages will be charged to the credit card on file.

*Access to the Kinnakeet Shores pool, pickleball, tennis courts are subject to those facilities availability. Guest who might experience closures to those facilities (extremely rare and not expected) due to maintenance or other reason will not receive any type of reimbursement for inability to access those amenities.

Things to Know
The condition of beach walkways, decks, and stairs changes quickly with wind, weather, erosion, and natural sand migration. We make every effort to maintain the accurate status of home amenities but do not guarantee their complete accuracy due to unexpected changes to the coastline.
Guests have access to our pool at Club Hatteras; located at 41156 Hwy 12, Avon. The pool is typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day - weather permitting and subject to close without notice.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

It was just as pictured and reviewed, a beach-themed, cozy and comfortable condo with private deck and a wonderful view of the beach, ocean, and Avon Pier. Exceptionally clean annd cute decor. Our first couple of days were cold and rainy, and two cozy chairs by the sliders still let us enjoy the view and ocean sounds. We loved the deck for meals and the short walk to the beach on our sunny days. The condo is five medium flights up, so a nice ocean view of the many surfers by the pier. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is less than 7 miles south, and Equine Adventure is 12 miles south in Frisco. Highly recommend that ride for a trip through the Maritime forest and out into the beach. We also trekked to the mansion in Corolla and took the car ferry south to spend time on a great shelling beach on Ocracoke Island. We had heavy wind and rains, which made for tricky driving in many high water flood areas, but the OBX pros had the heavy movers out clearing sand and getting the roads and ferry re-opened within a day. We didn’t stay long enough to visit many places on our list, so look forward to our next visit. We enjoyed meals where recommended at Diamond Shoal, Black Pelican, and Ketch 22. The condo was well-stocked with the basics and we appreciated the extra blankets during the cold nights we had. BYO beach towels and toiletries like lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. We highly recommend this gem for a stay, especially for quieter beaches and to explore the southern destinations in OBX."

2023 Renovation! Roomy 2 bedroom ( one bedroom is a loft), 2 bathroom condo. Cozy, comfortable family area for TV and games. View some of the best sunsets on Hatteras Island while enjoying cocktails on the spacious new deck after a day at the beach. We have a king bedroom with a private full bath and the second bedroom is a second floor loft with 2 twin beds! It is a short 4 minute walk to the beach. Perfect for a family of 4 , or 2 couples. Walking distance to great restaurants, ice cream and shops. Less than an mile to the Avon fishing pier. Swimming and Tennis included at the Kinnakeet Shores pool, tennis and pickleball courts, located 2 miles south in the Kinnakeet Shores neighborhood, located behind the Food Lion.
We are often told that the pictures do not do the condo justice.
The dock is privately owned. It is great to look at, but it is not available for us to use. There is a boat ramp on property to launch kayaks.
We are a Saturday to Saturday rental from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. 3 night minimum during the off-season.

October 2025~ A note about our coast and flooding here on Hatteras Island.
Most have seen the news reporting the homes falling in the ocean here. Yes, it is disastrous on that part of the Island. All homes were rentals and unoccupied. This was not a sudden happening- that area of beach has been eroding, filled and erode again for many years.
Avon and Captain's Hideout are not near this area.

A note for traveling guests w/ out dogs- don't worry the house is very clean, while Captain's is dog friendly, the house is thoroughly cleaned after each guest, no carpeting in house, area rugs are steam cleaned frequently, all comforters are washed every week and more. No long walk down a hot path toting heavy chairs, gear, SUP's, kayaks, coolers etc. Literally 50 steps to the beach, Adirondack chairs are in place. The easy access makes Captains Hideout a favorite place for those wishing to enjoy the sound front beach, gorgeous water views and sitting by the water without the long haul. Pets ~ dogs friendly. Please let me know in advance size and number of pups. Limit says 2 but I will consider additional pets. I do not charge any additional pet fees because pets are family. I just ask owners to be respectful in terms of cleaning up after pets.

- "This was our second time staying at this property as a family (32, 64, 66yo) and we loved it. The owner is kind, professional and communicative. The home is beautiful and well-appointed. Appliances/amenities were all functional and made for a very comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed using the beach firepit and dock for the (rented) kayaks. Recent construction next door was unexpected and persistently noisy, but not within the owners control. Consequently we spent more time at the ocean beach this year to avoid the noise, but sunsets from the dock or decks were still quiet/peaceful. Overall, we recommend the property to others."
